As the sun sets, a herd of wild mustangs become silhouetted against the waning sunlight, just barely in the view of nearby wolf packs, Duskfall and Sunrise. They graze silently near the banks of a wide river, preparing themselves for the long journey to their fall and winter home, the flat plains near Starseeker, another group of wolves. The herd is known as 'Leotie,' or 'Flower of the Prairie.'

The lead stallion lifts his head, his ears perked at attention as one of his look-outs whinnies. The stallion begins to canter over as he spots a band male who is trotting toward one of the herd's mares, putting on a display for her. But the lead stallion isn't about to give up one of his mares, especially when he's barely owned the harem for a month.

Rules

• Three sentences minimum per post
• Hate the character, not the player

• No powerplaying!

• If you are going to be gone for a while, please alert us!
• Lioden rules apply
• Relationships with characters and NPCs are definitely allowed!
• Most Importantly: Have fun and be nice!

Herd Ranks

Cheif (Lead Stallion - 1) - Leader; his word is law; in charge of leading and advising the herd mainly; deals with threats to the herd; the only one technically allowed to produce foals and mate with mares, though secret mates DO occur...

Queen (Lead Mare - 1) - The cheif's favorite mare; deals with conflicts within the herd, including pecking order; gets the best pickings of grazing/drinking/sleeping spots

Round-Bellies/Sucklers (unlimited) - Pregnant and nursing mares and their foals (until 4-6 Months of age); of utmost importance; next to eat/drink/sleep after Lead Mare and Stallion; placed in the middle of the herd

Shaman(ess) (1) - Male or female; treats sickness and injury

Lookouts (2 - 6) - Male or female; surround the herd while they sleep/graze/drink and watch for threats; take turns/shifts so that they can each sleep/eat/drink

Nannies (2-6) - MARES only. Supervises foals while mothers are busy. Each mare is assigned to one or more foals and they stay Caring for their foals until the foal is two years old.

Citizens (unlimited) - Every other individual within the herd; mostly mares, some submissive stallions, yearlings, colts, and fillies (4+ months); mares are only "supposed" to breed with the Cheif

There may be separate bands of stallions and loners that are not a part of the herd, but they MUST be labeled as such in their header. For example:

Miss HorseyMcHorseface | Mare | 5 years | Loner

Mr. Mustang | Stallion | 12 years | Mr. Mustang Band

Bands are like mini-herds, but all stallions. The "Cheif" of the band is used as the name for the band, as shown by the second example.

Mare - Mature female horse
Stallion - Mature male (non-gelded)
Yearling - Foals who are around a year old
Foal - A baby horse
Colt - A male foal
Filly - A female foal
Wean - To accustom a foal to food other than its mother's milk
Weanling - A foal at the age to be weaned (4-6 months)

errrrr I kinda play them both though when lux defeated Atsila I wanted an actual foal of his xD Killed atsila off btw
Dad-

Atsila was named for the fire that runs in his veins, he is quick to react to issues and is quick to fight.. Though he CAN think first he rarely does, racing forth to protect his herd before anything else. A very loyal male who will no doubt die for the horses in his herd.

Mom-

This mare isn't one to mess with, she has a rather strong bite to her and holds strong to her words. Though most of the time she is a patient mare with a kind heart, if something isn't going right she'll jump to the scene and save whoever is being attacked. Though if it's a challenge she'll let it hold out as she respects the boundaries.
