Just finished a quick study sketch of an OC I'm trying to refine a bit. Mostly trying to define his roman nose a bit more.

If anyone has some tips or advice, that'd be greatly appreciated ^^ I want him to have a roman nose, but without it looking too "inflated"(that's what roman noses usually look like to me).

Also, is it bad I'm starting to be convinced that art is best done at some ungodly hour of the night?

So Darklily, whenever I want to adjust the anatomy of a living creature to fit more of another style, I often think about how the skeletal structure will play out in the piece. I hope you don't mind, but I red lined a bit to show you how I'd see if the look would fit or not. (I just kind of tried to fit the skull in the size you made it, but it really does help when it comes to getting the look just perfect. Even though it doesn't have to be realistic, I only use this when I want it to come to a realistic/semi-realistic look.

I think the eyes could be a bit bigger and rounder maybe? Can't wait to see them colored!

@w001f I would make them a bit bigger, but I am not an expert with felines XD

I am just sketching a bit in my new sketch book ^^
At the moment a picture with the theme Memento Mori :D
I haven't done the lines yet but I have the basic figures and will definitely update once I have done more ;D



I hope you can see the picture XD I know pencil is everything but ideal XD In the upper left corner is a clock in the lower left corner a rose, in the lower right corner is a human skull and in the middle a woman and the sentence Momento Mori, meaning Remember Death in Latin. I will also add some vines in the background, at least that is the plan as of now XD

I drew up this red line(kinda messy, since I didn't bother using my tablet and I was falling asleep XD) just for my own reference to show where his face actually is under all that fluff of his(his lower checks and neck are rather thick with fur). The blue was to show where his nose would be if it wasn't roman(lions usually have a rather flat nose).

Do you have any greenery nearby? My area is full of flowering trees and nature provides a theme? If not I could suggest just looking at animals you like and hopefully draw them?
