The main issue with the wing is how it's folded. The range of how much a bird can twist the wrist is really slim, because they need to be as stable as possible so there is not much flexibility. Because of that, in that pose only the side of the wing would be visible.

On the right, the back part is more visible, but on the left not because it's farther away, so you can see more of the ventral wing.
