![]() Current Weather: Blistering hot sun without a cloud in sight Enter Canada: Not a drop of rain has been seen since early May, and every animal is feeling it. The sun has become uncharacteristically hot, killing and drying out the Mustangs' main food source: vegetation. The horses have fled to a small, twenty mile area of pine forest, deep in the mountains, seeking shade and relief from the hot sun, which is burning light colored horses. Deer and moose are heading to wetter lands, depriving the wolves of their main food source: fresh meat. Because of this the swollen wolf populous have turned to the horses for food; killing young foals and old horses alike. Safety in numbers has been taken to the extreme, some herds harboring well over a dozen horses. More wolves have passed through these lands, following their prey source. When they happened upon the hundreds of Mustangs hiding in the mountains they stayed, adding to the already overgrown Canis Lupus population. Mares keep even older foals close, and yearlings with a good head on their shoulders dare not stray from the protection of their lead stallion. Because of the dry, sparse grass, lactating mares are condemned to a dwindling milk supply, unfortunately and quite unwillingly starving foals unequipped to graze on what little grass there is. The new wolves brought with them an awful disease, dubbed the "Staggering Sickness". The horses have no known treatment, but healers are working tirelessly to find a cure. It can take anywhere from four to ten days for the symptoms to appear, and contact with the victim's droppings, urine, saliva, nasal discharge, or even breathing the same air will almost guarantee the sickness continues to spread. The main symptoms are thick nasal discharge, staggering gait, hind leg weakness, fever, and lethargy. Some infected horses even die. Wolves seem unable to catch this horrid disease, but it passes from horse to horse like wildfire, and whole herds are dropping like flies, especially with more horses in a smaller area and larger herds. The disease also causes malformed or aborted foals in pregnant mares, and foals, along with the elderly, are more susceptible to it. Character SheetsNo thread generated. Sereno>>Noctis Sereno trotted up to his friend. "I know he had a good head count of 12 not counting Estrella, Cronus, Aggy, and Prisha." He said looking back at the herd. "Now I can only count 8 mares." He shook his head in annoyance. "If they left willingly I will not blame them."" He said seriously. "Come on Noctis, time for us to be stallions." He said with a mischievous smile ![]() |

Boulder - Nox Boulder looked at the water as Nox jumped. Hmf. He can handle this. He leaped, hooves held against his chest, ears perked up to feel the wind against his ears. He landed on the ground with a splash, feeling the stingy feeling of the cold. He pushed on quickly, cantering onto shore. Boulder didn't feel cold no more. The look Nox gave him made him feel warmth spread all around his body. ![]() |

Damasco - Shunder & Ginga Damasco hid away from the herd a bit, in the loneliest part of the cave he could find. Their 'medicine mare' thought he was a foal.. Oso mumbled curses under his breath. I gotta get out of here.. He thought. When this herd first arrived he tried to warn one of them. But he quickly realized how pointless it was at the realization of their stupidity. He normally would try not to boast about his superior intelligence, but that one mare, whats-her-face.. made him wonder if they were all like that. And this time with inside knowledge, he himself had clear proof that they really were just some crumbling little gang of goodie-four-shoes. It's not like he's studied them well, but he could tell just how many mares they've lost, so obviously they're doing something wrong. He snorted in frustration and quietly sneaked out of the cave, hoping no one that cared would spot him. He doubted it. As soon as he exited, he let out a sigh of relief and walked away, to think to himself. "This is pointless.. if they could really handle another member of their group they'd at least be able to notice or care when they leave. Huh, maybe that's why they are so much shorter on mares now.." He chuckled to himself, shaking his head. His ears twitched when he thought he had heard some conversation coming from a hidden area. Where? He didn't know. His abnormally large ears rotated to pinpoint where it was coming from. He crept closer and tried to listen in. What the hell.. He had thought he heard some canine-ish noises. And... some horsespeak. He shook his head in utter confusion. Cronus - Estrella Cronus shook his head. "I don't know anymore.." He mumbled quietly, partially to himself. (short.. I'm brain-dead lol) ![]() Edited on 03/02/17 @ 00:03:30 by Zypheria ☯ [Lights On!] ⚓ (#49415) |

Starshock//No one Starshock dug under the snow and pulled out some roots. She had gotten use to the bland earthy flavor in fact she rather liked it. Once she finished she dug the same hole a little deeper in grabbing more roots. She soon walked a few steps and dug again, this was one reason she was still so well fed. She spent every waking moment digging and eating roots, her nose became good at smelling them under the ground. She usually stay close to her little secluded cave, every few predators made their way to her cave. She would give birth here if spring brings good green grazing, she didn't even have to worry about water a dmall stream ran by a couple yards away. It was perfect fir a lone mare who was expecting a foal. ![]() |

Noctis|Sereno The colt grinned ruefully, puffing out his chest. "Sereno my friend, I'm way ahead of you." He reared up as he had so often seen challenging stallions do before he called out, "Let's save those mares!" He dropped down and began to gallop, knowing his swift friend would have no problem keeping up. Nox|Boulder She watched in admiration as the large stallion jumped. When he landed with a splash she half reared from the side of the clear pool, showing her admiration and appreciation for the stallion's bravery. She trotted up to him and rested her head on his back, ready to accept the stallion's advances. (Ready to fade when you are Skittz) ![]() Edited on 03/02/17 @ 20:58:01 by Polopony (#96942) |

Sereno>>Noctis Sereno galloped after Noctis catching up to him quite easily. "This will be good practice for when we have herds of our own to protect." He said feeling alive again. He neighed loudly warning all those know of his coming. He looked at Noctis with a big smile, running next to his friend. ![]() |

(I'm thinking we can do a one month TS, we can say Sereno and Noctis sort of split off from the herd if Shamess agrees, they are close to or of age, Nox is preggers and Estrella is reaching her third month???????? I believe Starshcok is encroaching on her fifth) ![]() |

One Month Time SkipThe season is March. The snow has largely melted to a muddy brown slush and no ground seems solid. Muddy divots make a flat out run impossible, never mind battles. Grass is churned up but edible. If you know where to look. ![]() |

Starshock>>open Starshock wondered around her belly was big as her foals grew inside her. She walked into the river washing the now caking mud off her coat. She looked around the days have been nice and sunny, but with that the bugs have returned. She swam across thankful it was a little more rocky on the other side making it easier to find her footing. Sereno>>Noctis Sereno looked over at Noctis the two males had never returned to the herd after leaving to save females. They have grown rather close since then. "Ugh alk this mud is really annoying." He snorted as on of his hooves got stuck in the mud, the a hard tug he pulled it out and flicked the mud off. "Bo mare is going to want a stallion that is covered in mud." He said looking at Noctis. ![]() |

(Sorry for the sudden poofness! My mom is being dificult >3<') (I'll say Shunder gave Ginga the meat and made more epquiptment out of the horse she killed but she's more of a protector til things et sorted out aka more Event karma fodder as well as a few other things. ^ ^') Shunder "A month already pass...time flies...." She spoke as she kept watch over the herd and the land where she always was. She gained a few more scars from a few more males who tried to snake more mares from the still small herd. She was glad none seemed to have noticed the increase in her 'collection' of supplies. She was proud o being able to make things out of bones to use esp make an actual blade from said bones. Ginga had taken to move closer since the increase in food for him, he did chase a few horses towards the forest herd to join who were alone and prone to be attacked or killed by the lands if no helping to defend the herd. So he wasn't usless and became a greater ally but he still sayed out of sight as most horses aren't too fond of an idea of a horse and dog being friends. (Dangit Ginga! XD So much or temporary lol) (Sorry i couldn't respond before the TS Zy I could say that Ginga figured out about their little 'spy' and chase them away or something idk...D:) ![]() Edited on 04/02/17 @ 11:06:13 by FNaF Foxy {Side} (#56607) |

Aynaet >>Open Aynaet scratched her side on a small tree. "I hate mosquitoes, they are such a pain." She snorted before she walked away her tail swishing violently to rid herself of them. She made her way to a small clearing with alot of grass growing in it. "Finally some good grazing." She said as she made her way into the field, shaking her head. The ground wasn't as muddy most likely due to the sunlight being able to reach the ground and dry it up. She ate greedily as she hadn't eaten in days sue to all the mud. ![]() |

Boulder - Open Boulder chose Nox as his mate, and she is now pregnant with his foal. She seems to be a good lead mare. But, there seems to be lots of mud. One time he accidently mistaked really sticky mud and thought it was quicksand. He was wandering around, looking for yet another mare to look for. His genes must be passed on to others, evil genes. (I'll let him wander near Aynaet) ![]() |
