○ Let me know if this has been suggested before

I hate it when I specifically say PM ME on a thread and people still comment on the thread, or if you have a thread where you just don't want people to comment, so it would be nice to have this option.

Being able to have the option to 'disable' commenting when you post a thread.

'Maybe make it so thread owner is able to enable/disable when needed? For example, disable comments whilst its a WIP, but enable them when its complete? Especially helpful for the roleplayers.' [Kitten #57572]

What about game development suggestion posts? I feel like a lot of people might abuse this feature to prevent people from voicing their reasons for not supporting. [Snowball #36028]
^ This is a really good point! I think this suggestion should not work on some of the boards:
- Game Development
- I'm Lost
- Bug Board
- Grown Up Lions
Any others? Feel free to suggest!
Honestly, I personally want it just for Stockpile boards

My concern is that this could be abused on any forum. I can just see people trying to make messes for the mods by posting a controversial topic with replies disabled, to try and get people to take the drama to chatbox or new threads. Fart (#25392)

I also think that moderators and admins should have consent to reply regardless of what the owner has selected, in case of rule-breaking.

Yeah, regular users wouldn't be able to comment if it's disabled. But staff should be able to have that power/rights to comment if necessary. it's a good idea and I've cast in my support. :^)
