I remember a year when we unlocked it like... a couple of days before the event ended. It was worse during Aphrodisia, as that is the shortest month. Do you think we will get a personal progress bar for other events with NCL markings? Then instead of having the bars periodically tweaked to have the tiers open when admins think they should, we'd get a personal one and everyone could have access to event things on their own pace :o

Nah, I think personal bar is only for April because egg donation; other events the site works together to unlock NCLs but in April it takes donating, which most users didnt want to do before. The personal donation bar obviously helps the issue, we've blazed to tier 2 in 3 days, I bet the numbers will be adjusted for next year so we dont unlock it so soon.

The personal bar doesn't let you have access at your own pace....it just prevents you from getting access at all if you don't donate. You still have to wait for the universal bar to open (relying on all players on the site and the admins mercy as usual)

Also I think its only opened tier 2 so quick because its a new feature and the admins didn't know how to calculate it yet

The personal bar adds up to the overall donation bar, Cerrates! That's the main idea here; so people must donate and help unlock the overall bar if they want to enjoy it at all. That's why we're already at tier 2 by 3rd april when two years ago, we only unlocked tier 2 on like, 29th. All eggs donated to the personal bar, are also donated to the overall bar, helping to unlock it.

How does it not grant you access at your own pace? You play frequently-> have the minimun quicker -> get access sooner, no? Plus the bar encourages people to actively do event things, in this case, donate eggs earlier instead of hoarding during the first weeks.

We've already have something like this before, with the events that had storylines last year and you needed to complete certain quests to have access to some features. Quests are one per day, so that means players had to be around a minimum number of days to enjoy the event fully. The personal bar thingy would be more of the same, like, say, slap/flirt x times for aphrodisia, kill x locusts during the plagues, participate x rituals during the floods...

Yes I know that. I'm saying that the personal bar doesn't help you personally to open the tier any faster for yourself, in just ensures you participate (do your share, per se) and if you don't, then you *don't* get access.
The way Bere had worded it sounded like they thought that if you donated your share and filled up your personal bar, you got access to the tier, which is not the case. You still have to wait for the sitewide participation progress to open the tier.
And the only reason tier 2 has opened so fast is because everyone is seeing the personal "can't get in unless you do this" bar and going "damnit, fine." and dumping their share in when they used to wait to see if it was necessary to participate in the donations at all before donating, therefore drawing it out.

Oh, no, no Cerr. I guess I skipped that part, but I'm perfectly aware the playerbase's bar needs to be filled too. What I meant to say that, with the personal bars, admins can set up the minimum a player needs to contribute to open the tier and leave the overall bars alone, instead of doing the whole guessing game and adjusting them when we go quicker than they expected.

I like that logic, but I expect it will be more likely that the admins will adjust the universal bar (or even our personal bars) to make it harder and make sure we don't open tiers so fast.
