Would it be acceptable for me to run a side cave 'retirement home' for unwanted elderly lionesses? They wouldn't be bred of course, but would that be breaching Hardmode rules? ![]() |

@Sarkie As long as you clearly label them as non-Hard Mode you should be fine, I think. From the Hard mode FAQ: "1. Can I have non-hard mode lions ( lions with outside heritage bred outside of hard mode rules ) in my pride? - You may have some lions in your den which do not qualify for hard mode, but these lions MUST be labeled as such and may NOT be bred into your royal lines. ( you may use these lions for non-breeding roles such as a submale used to train male cubs, or for side-project breeding, but all cubs produced from such side projects must be labeled as non-hard mode and may never be used as an heir) For consistency's sake, you may not have any such lions when applying." ![]() Edited on 10/04/18 @ 08:11:23 by Valana [Asiatic] (#44616) |

So I have a question for all of you. Im not quite sure what to do from here on with my king. My old boy retired naturally last night and ive been able to king my heir. He has the looks I want and all of that but im not sure what step to do next. He is currently gen 3 which isnt bad, but it makes him unavailable to stud for hard mode players in comparison to if he was gen 2 instead. It also makes me a bit hesitant to breed with him (a lot of my lions are set up to breed for caingorm) because the cubs would be gen 4. So here are the options 1. Leave him as is, dont mutie or heritage replace him and keep him as gen 3 (saves me GB). I have a primal scroll saved up i can use on him to give him base primal. 2. Not worry about heritage and try to find a nice gen 2 or gen 3 felis/similus or one of the piebalds. (Id probably try to breed it myself) and use it to mutie replace him. 3. try to get a may heritageless groupie to clean his heritage so he can be heritageless and be more useable for my own breeding as well as available to hard mode and clean breeders. Id probably then use my primal scroll on him after thats done. Ive only been playing for about 3 months tho so im not sure how hard it is to get male groupies as ive never been around for this event and even though ive been breeding to quite a few piebald/patches kings ive never gotten one and ive only gotten 1 felis and no similus's even though my last king was a primal. ![]() |

@May, he is a beautiful young stud, and clean, so I will certainly still have girls to send! Advertise him as clean, and since you bred him yourself, groupie replace. Groupies are not hard to get if all goes like it did last year. Last year when V'kai asked if you wanted to meet some of the ladies fawning over the challengers...you just selected that you wanted to meet the boys too XD. But seriously, if you would like to outside stud, save yourself the GB and wait for groupies. In the meantime, open him up to studding and advertise in clean threads, he's lovely, you'll get plenty of offers for him. You still get to stay on as a hard moder, you just have to wait, and if I were you, I'd rather just wait a bit then spend the extra GB to retire so soon. As for primal? I would keep him normal for now. I can barely sell the primal boys I have, but now my normal boy's stud slots used to sell no problem. ![]() |

@May Option 3 would get you the best result and save you money :) By the time you get a groupie in May, your king will be off his early retirement cool down so it will save you 15 GB. And groupie replacing will make him heritageless so you will be able to stud him to hard moders. (Whereas Gen 2 or 3 could not. Remember, ONLY heritageless kings may stud for Hard Mode) (And remember, if you are buying an heir/replacer for yourself, you can only use heritageless or Gen 2 lions - parents only -. gen 3 wouldn't qualify) Then if you want to apply primal, you can do it and still be heritageless :) ![]() |

@Fox He would be compatible for you to king! :) He would not be compatible for other hard mode players to stud to. (Since in Hard Mode you may only use studs who are completely heritageless) ![]() |

Yeah, and that's why groupies are so popular! Because as long as you have bred your king's looks starting with your own heritageless line, you can replace and then others from Hard Mode can once again stud to your king. ![]() |

So this is going to sound really dumb, but I just realized I have a heiritageless (i think) boy that ive had since i joined???? (i say i think because when i look at him it says unknown and then its blank for the other slot, but when i click see full heritage its all clean) I kept him for lore reasons as he was technically my kings first child from WAAAYYY back in the day when i joined during a recruitment event like... 3~ years ago i think (i quit after like 3-4 days) and i guess because the website was changed it wiped a lot of the info? Like when I logged into the game I had like 3 females without heritages and this boy and i had to re-name/remake my king even though i had one years ago. Long story short though, do you think anybody would want to buy him? Its like.... a month away from them being available through the event so id understand if hes not worth much but i thought id ask anyway lmao i would keep him and use him for myself but i dont have the extra 15gb to rush replace him because i kinged my new boy 2 days ago so ima have to wait a month anyway :C Also hes pretty old, 9~ years. but with the spring that could be 7 years ![]() |
