I'm trying to make a chart to show how likely it is that the piebald mutation passes. Link to chart: Clicky -How to help- *Post the number of cubs you bred since applying the mutation and how many of them are piebald and which kind. *Do not list lions that used the applicator! -How to report example- *Example: 1 cub piebald, 3 not piebald (doesn't have to exactly like this, but as a reference) -How not to report example- *Example: 13 cubs born, 1 was piebald *Please don't add up the cubs you posted in previous posts. So if you posted earlier that day, don't give the total number of cubs you had in your next post. -Basically- 4 cubs, no pieds. (okay) 4 cubs, 1 pied (not so okay. I count 5 in total, which isn't correct, and I end up recounting) -Reason for guidelines- *The following examples are so it will be much easier for me if I have to do a recount and the data doesn't become skewed. The numbers go into a calculator quite fast, one after the other, and it slightly breaks the flow when I get the total number of cubs + how many were pied. I lose my place and have to start over again. -Results- (This will be updated with the data, so it's not exact) 70 out of 1893 cubs got piebald Chance = 3.6% Average chance range = approx. 3.3% 0 players like this post! What I'm not understanding is why almost every female bred with a piebald stud has only one cub! Is this part of the genetics? Honestly, it's getting a bit ridiculous. Instead of my average being 2-3 cubs per litter, I'm getting 1 cub in 90% of my litters. This has been ever since I've started breeding to piebald studs. I checked every female I had bred this past week and all but one had only one cub. I have tons of females, too. So, my cub count has gone down significantly. It's annoying as all heck. And I only breed to special based studs, yet I've only got one special based cubs. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Cathy: I think you're right about the litters typically being 1 cub. It makes sense o: 0 players like this post! Like? |

Breeding to mine I'm still getting 1-2 cub litters. Haven't seen any 3 for awhile, but I'll start watching more closely. 0 players like this post! Like? |

How many cubs are all of your cubs? I'm on mobile right now so it isn't very easy navigating. 0 players like this post! Like? |
