Dean ran a hand through his hair as he shut the book on Poltergeist and moved into the bunker's kitchen to grab a beer with sigh. "Sam better be happy he's got an excuse this weekend... leaving me alone with all this research crap," he grunted.

Cas was in the kitchen and looked up from his hands as Dean walked in grumbling about his current task. Cas had been lost in thought, as usual. Pondering what it was to be human and how they managed to do it day after day. It was tedious. "I am sure Sam is extremely grateful Dean." He responded as he watched him grab a beer. This human who had become his closest friend over the years. After everything they had been through he trusted Dean with his life, and he liked to think Dean felt the same way.

Dean snorted and leaned against the counter as he looked over at the angel. "Yeah, I guess... how are you doing, Cas..." he questioned, taking a sip of his beer. "Anything from angel radio?"

He looked at Dean with a questioning expression. "I am doing fine, of course." He said, as if he could not be in any other state, but he knew that Dean was just concerned. He would have left it at that, but after spending time with humans he learned it was customary to respond by asking the same question back. He opened his mouth to do so, but shut it as a second question came.

"No, it is surprisingly quite." He said furrowing his brows as he looked away. Dean had brought his attention to his brothers chatter, but there was none. Not even a whisper. That could not be good. He did not want to worry Dean over it though, he had enough he was dealing with at the moment.

"How goes studying?" He asked, turning his eyes back to Dean, a genuine question.

Dean frowned for a moment at Castiel's expression before shaking his head and replying. "Boring as hell," he sighed, running a hand over his face and tilting his head back against the cabinet. "Wish I had your angel mojo sometimes. Be able to read that whole damn book in two minutes."

Castiel gave a slight smile. Well more like the corners of his lips turned up for just a moment. He began to picture Dean as an angel. Causing uprisings, ruffling feathers, using angel 'mojo' as he called it to get all the ladies. The thought was absurd.

"Yes well, being human is hard." Was all he had in response as his mind went off on the same tangent he had been on before Dean came in. Being human was hard. They had so much to deal with. So many emotions, and feelings and bodily functions. He frowned again.

"What are you reading?" He asked standing up from the table.

"I suppose for you, yeah," Dean chuckled slightly before moving back to the table and sitting in his seat. Flipping the book open again, he sighed and scratched his head before replying. "Book on 'Poltergeist'... buzz of a big haunting in Ohio... Sam went to go check it out with another hunter."

He followed Dean into the other room and watched as he sat back down with the book. "Sam went without you?" He asked unable to hide the confusion in his voice. He knew the Winchesters had separated a few times over the years, but never while they were still in good standing with each other. Maybe they weren't? Cas sat down across from Dean.

"Is everything alright?" He asked, still genuinely concerned.

"Hmm?" Dean frowned slightly and drummed his fingers on the table before nodding. "Yeah... everything's good, Cas... Sam went alone because I wanted to rest for a bit. The last hunt was a little rough on me, yanno?"

Cas nodded and gave an understanding look. A lot of things were hard on Dean. He always took the brunt of things. Always ready to do anything for his brother or his friends. Cas awkwardly placed a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to be comforting. "Can I do anything for you, Dean?" He asked,

Dean gave a soft huff of amusement and patted Castiel's hand before shaking his head slightly. "Nah, I'm good... probably just need to take a break. Been reading for the past hour and half... can't concentrate on this much longer without going insane."

Cas nodded and let his hand drop. He knew what Dean needed. And like that he was gone. Quick trip to Dean's favorite restaurant he picked up a burger and a pie. Dean loved pie. Surely that would make him feel better. And again, in an instant, he was back at the bunker. He had a goofy half smile as he proudly offered what he had gotten. He would do anything he could for Dean. "Will this help?" He asked.

Dean smiled widely once Cas returned with the food and he stood, pulling the angel into a tight hug. "Dude... awesome..." he hummed, taking the burger and pie with an appreciative sniff.

Cas just stood still as Dean gave him a hug. He still did not quite get this human gesture. "I am glad you like it." He said with a flat tone. He was soon distracted though as a low buzzing rang in his ears. Almost inaudible but he soon figured it to be an angel speaking, but he couldn't quite make it out. Her narrowed his eyes trying to focus on the sound. He would not be able to understand it in the bunker. He zapped to just outside the bunker where he could hear the whispering a bit better. It was a voice he did not recognize, repeating the same thing over and over again. It has been found. Cas furrowed his eyebrows as he tried to figure out what that meant. He zapped back inside the bunker, still thinking over the words, he did not speak.

"Cas?" Dean questioned, looking up from his burger with a confused smile as the angel reappeared in the room with a frown on his face. "Everything okay? You disappeared kinda fast there...''
