The dried, golden grass rustles loudly underneath the doe as her long legs push through it. She pauses momentarily, ears twitching as a breeze wafts through the light brown fur inside of them. She shakes her head at the slightly irritating sensation and begins moving towards them again this time quickening her pace, leaping through the dead grass until she reaches the lush part of the field her herd had decided to graze upon. Her eyes and ears were alert as she casts a glance between all of does and bucks gathered the large clearing, tearing her gaze away before delicately lowering her head to nibble at the short grass around her hooves.

After a few moments of half hearted grazing she bends her front legs and sinks to the ground, the tufts of grass tickling her shoulder and side when she finally reaches the earth. The doe closes her earthy coloured eyes and faces upwards, towards the sun, her dark brown coat shimmering as the gentle breeze and light hits it. Days like this were her favourite- there was plenty of sunshine and it was about as peaceful as it could get around her herd members. A smile dares to creep onto her face as she basks in the warmth, listening intently to the sound of her herd members moving about and chatting quiety to one another.

Hades

The massive buck watched with amusement as she pouted towards him and was about to demand what was funny when she fell. She was an odd and clumsy little one, wasn't she? She then pushed through the taller grass and made it to the shorter vegetation that he had invited her too, announcing it was better than the tall grass. The white fluffball stood up to higher than his knees, if only a bit. But he soon took notice of a pretty doe by the name of Shennandoah. She was one of a few mood swings, like him, but he liked her. He wouldn't mind grazing with her at some point, which was surpising considering his personality. She intrigued him and he would like to get to know her more. But the doe soon laid down and he moved his attention away and didn't watch her anymore. His eyes soon were attracted to the moving of a buck. Gemini was trotting away, an action he commonly did. Hm... Hades didn't want the buck to get into any trouble. There were wolves around these parts and, although they seldomly got attacked, there was still a chance.

Grazing, his ears soon perked as he heard light hooves on the ground coming towards him, raising his heavy rack to face the smaller Sky looking up at him with worry in her orbs. He heard the word; wolf. Furrowing his brows, he nodded, "I'll check it out. Just relax and stay here." he said, authority in his deep voice. Clearing his throat, Hades began trotting to the outskirts of the herd, intimidating brown eyes scanning the area. Using his rather good eyesight, he spotted a few wolves in the midst of the bordering forest. And, trotting around the outsides of the herd, he saw them all around. They were being surrounded.

He needed to lead the herd away. Looking around, he made sure all the herd was there, especially Gemini as the buck had run off earlier. The Alpha grunted loudly for all to hear, large hooves hitting the ground loudly as he let out a warning noise bucks made with his throat. His actions were telling them to run towards the Watering Hole, the only open way without wolves was the way to the Watering Hole. Grunting, he took off, hooves thundering against the ground as he ran, his herd fleeing behind him. The wolves had charged and some were targeting one of the younger and slower. Therefore, he left one of the Betas, Gemini or Danny or both, to lead the herd to the Watering Hole - Or near it at least, just in that direction - before slowing himself to slow down to the younger. Grunting loudly, he charged towards the wolf attacking the younger and slower, large rack hitting into the canine with a lot of force. The other wolves then went for Hades himself and he grunted loudly with dominince, kicking one and swinging his rack to side-hit a wolf, the wolf stumbling back and falling to the ground, head hitting one of Hades' antlers. Grunting, he charged a small wolf and swept his head to the right, the wolf 'flying' off. He did this all before running back to the herd, leaving the slower and injured wolves.

Hades soon slowed to a halt with the herd with him, breathing heavily. "Is everyone okay?"

Everything had seemed peaceful, but that all fell under when the alerting sound of the lead buck caused the doe's eyes to flutter open quickly. Looking around, she watched as deers bolted past her, some with panicked expressions. Standing up, Shennandoah would struggle to gain balance before looking back towards what the herd was running from, eyes widening as she noticed a large pack of wolves charging forward. This was bad. As quickly as her legs could carry her, Shennandoah bolted off, leaping elegantly into the air - ears pinned and tail fluffed up.

While running, Shennandoah couldn't help but see a lonely white figure in a large tower of grass, and by the color, Shennandoah could tell it was Lagertha. Rolling her eyes along with a hesitant breath, Shennandoah swung around and ran back to the smaller doe. Noticing that at least 2 or 3 wolves had noticed her departure from the fleeing herd , Shennandoah picked up her pace, though, they there was no need to because they were the few that the bucks had been beating up. Reaching the lingering Lagertha, Shennandoah slowed her pace and looked around. Most of the wolves had left, but, the ones that had raced after her had also slowed their pace and began to circle them. Though she wasn't a buck, Shennandoah knew how to fight.

Stomping a hoof, her head lowered, piercing eyes watching the wolves closely. "Lagertha...DON'T move..." She said with a hissing tone. This was exactly why she had a disliking for the smaller doe, though, who else would protect her. The bucks were busy and didn't even notice her leave. One of the wolves finally decided to attack, heading straight for her back leg, but, that was a horrible choice. With a mighty kick, the wolf had got a hoof in his jaw. Because of the amount of power she had delivered, the wolf had run off, probably because he was terribly injured already and also got a hoof full when he just wanted a bite. "Who's next!" She said as she reared up, hooves slamming onto the ground as she came back down, but this was enough to warn the wolves that she wasn't in the greatest of mood, causing them to run off, but not without causing her some damage.

Watching closely, Shennandoah noticed that yet another wolf ran, but, while she was distracted, the third wolf ran in, taking a harsh bite to her front left leg before backing off and running as he noticed her hooves were coming close to his face. Breathing deeply, she sighed as she watched him run before turning and limping off towards the herd, expecting Lagertha to follow behind her. After all, she wouldn't want to be there when the wolves came back. Glancing at the other deers, she shrugged the fact that she was injured off. She did take the protection of the other doe's harshly into her own hooves and would not allow anyone or ANYTHING to hurt them. Even if she died.

Grunting, Hades' intimidating brown orbs scanned the herd, counting each and everyone. He knew everyone in the herd, naturally, and would notice if one or more were missing. Hm... Naturally, the first deer he looked for was his sister, Hestia, the most important to him. But then he counted all the bucks; Danny, Gemini, Tenentes, Maalik, Doku. Then the does; Sky, Alcée, and Pandora.. including Hestia.... Hm...? Three were missing. Shennandoah, Lagertha, and Lilith were no where to be seen. Worry stuck his heart like the strongest of lightningbolts. Oh no.. He didn't leave them behind did he? How could he do so? Eyes widening, he called out for Gemini and Danny to stay before bolting, his legs quickening as he ran back the way they had came, brown eyes scanning his surroundings for any sign of the three. The massive buck ran fast, needing to make sure he could find them before the wolves, also greatly hoping the wolves hadn't gotten to them first. The thought of losing the three of his heard saddened him. But he wouldn't give up hope yet.

And soon enough, it would pay off. Lagertha's recognizable white fur was soon spotted, next to the unmistakable Shennandoah. They hadn't been too far at all from the herd's current spot. Relief flooded into his chest as he slowed to a trot as he neared them, grunting for them to hear. But he soon noticed Shen was limping. "Shennandoah, what happened?" he asked, ears perked as he stared down at the pretty doe with concern. Though, naturally, his caring for the doe was hidden beneath his cold demeanor. Cold eyes narrowed slightly as he scanned their surroundings, making sure no wolves snuck up on the injured doe and the white fluffball while the buck was their. Hades did so as he waited for an answer, moving to walk beside them so they could start heading back to the herd now. He didn't like to be away from them for long because he could not protect them from a distance. But then he remembered about Lilith, the third missing doe. "Have you seen Lilith? She wasn't with the herd." he said, voice stern, deep, and dominant like normal, but the concern for the wellbeing of his herd showing in his brown eyes.

Seeing Hades come into view and fall into step beside the two doe's, Shennandoah would avert her gaze from the buck "Lagertha thought it would be a good idea to hide in tall grass when her coat is as white as snow and can be seen from a few miles away, so, I came back for her and by luck managed to keep both of us alive." She said in a disturbed tone, she was not intimidated by anything for some reason, but inside she was shaking like a fawn. Hearing Hades new concern about the third missing doe, Lilith, Shennandoah looked over at him "I saw her run off into the woods earlier..." Shennandoah said with concern growing in her eyes as she hesitantly looked around for the black deer, but, she was nowhere in sight.
