Try this:
-For neutral/kind/snarky lionesses: Shake Mane,Puff out Chest,Manly Roar
-for good: Those with hearts next to them
-for evil: Those with paws next to them

Just remember that Rub Head and Bite Neck are finishing moves,use them on the ending of claiming :D
You will also get used to the system.You will have better chances against claiming a lioness when you level up your impression.

To add to what Shad said, you have up to four moves before the lioness loses her patience and slaps you so, if you're in the third move and still have to cover much of the progress bar, I'd recomend using bite neck instead of rub head; it'll fill much more hearts of the progress bar if it's succesful.

Also if you're impression level is low you have a lower chance of success
so don't worry, you might be doing all the right things you just need to level more
