alright so i'm an older player, but i recently returned and i've figured out ~some~ things, but that only led to more questions, lol. if any of my questions have guides already available, PLEASE link me so i can bookmark them!! thanks

  1. when it comes to heirs, how do people normally decide on them? do they buy lions they like or try to breed for them? when should i have a heir decided by?

  2. i have two subs, should i get rid of the one with the lesser stats? do subs become heirs or are they just subs?
  3. how does kinging a new lion even work... like, what happens to the decided heir once you king them? i saw something about their age resetting once?? idk if that's true or false

  4. what do skulls do? are there any that are worth much? i've been hoarding lion skulls because i had a difficult time finding them in december. i plan on using the cheaper skulls in this month's event.

  5. i've noticed some people collect rib bones. what do rib bones do? or do these people just like collecting rib bones?

  6. is it better to have a good or an evil lion? i've noticed more "deathlord" titles than good titles, lol. or is it just a gameplay style people choose?

okay... i think that's all i have for now.

Welcome back~!

1. People usually go for stats or for looks. You can either buy or breed, it's up to you! If you want to use an heir and not reroll when your lion retires, you have to have one before he retires at 16 years old. However, if you get one sooner, you can patrol him to gain more stats!

2. If you don't want two, get rid of the one you like least honestly. For now, until your king retires, they're just subs. Meaning you can patrol them to gain stats and sometimes items/carcasses, but otherwise they act like any other lioness, minus the breeding part.

3. The decided heir becomes your king! When you retire a lion, you have the option to reroll (for a NCL, low stat style king like the one you started with) or choose an heir. With that heir, you can keep your old king's looks and just replace stats, mutation, and personality, or you can choose to make the heir have all of those and keep his looks. If the heir is below 3 years, they will be aged up to 3, and if they are above I believe 10 years, they are aged down to that. Otherwise, they keep their current age. So sorta true.

4. Skulls are toys used to play with your lions to increase mood, keeping them from running away. Lion and elephant skulls are worth the most when selling to Monkey business, because they have the most amount of uses. If you want to reserve those strictly for playing/selling, bury them. That way, the boneyard won't take uses from those skulls!

5. Rib bones are 6 use toys, so they're useful for playing and are a bit more common than lion skulls. Otherwise, people like to hoard random things lol

6. There's benefits to both good and evil, and even neutral karma. The different styles will unlock different explore interactions and specific decor as well. It's a personal preference really!

As for guides, feel free to look in the User Created Guides board under chatter, there's tons of guides that are really helpful! Also, here is a retirement guide as well!
Feel free to PM me with other questions if you got em. Enjoy linden!!

1. Some people buy ones heirs they really like- sometimes you just find that special lion in the TC and think he'd make the perfect king. Other players try to breed for them as they have a breeding project and are hoping to get specific markings. Either way works as long as you end up with a boy you like. You can retire your king at 15 years of age, so you should probably have an heir decided by then. If you need time to customize/patrol your heir, you should find one earlier than that. Higher stat kings are more popular, and if you care about stats you'll want time to patrol.

2. Unless you plan on making one king after the other dies, get rid of the one you like the least. An heir becomes an heir because you want it to be. When you retire your king, you get to choose which sub male/adol boy/cub boy you want. That's the only way they become an heir, technically. Otherwise they're just boys taking up space.

3. When you crown a new king, if the male is an adol or cub, they become 3 years of age. If you king a boy older than 8, they moved down to 8 years of age. Nothing else happens to the heir unless you choose to stat-replace with a mutated boy- then you can keep your heir's looks but get the mutation of your stat-replacer.

4. Skulls are toys- they keep your lions happy. Lion skulls are worth more than rat skulls, hyrax skulls, etc. You can sell each lion skull to the Monkey Shop for 56SB. Elephant Skulls, should you find them, can be sold for 75SB in the Monkey Shop, As far as I know, those are worth the most out of all the skulls.

5. Rib bones are toys, just like skulls. You can play with them, sell them, or collect them. Some people just like collecting things.

6. I don't think it matters. My main king is good, and my side king is bad. I think the only difference I've noticed is that my evil king gains impression faster due to fighting all the lionesses instead of trying to impress them and failing.

- In terms of deciding on an heir, you can breed one yourself or you can buy a lion that has the markings/stats you want and then King them. I usually end up buying the one I like (look wise), then stat replace them. I seem to have bad luck getting the markings I want, which is why I buy mine. But I know a lot of people have breeding projects for the perfect heir. It all depends on what you want. I usually have my heir picked out by the time my current King is 10 years old (I don't know about everyone else).

- Sub males are pretty much just subs. You can choose one of them to become your heir if you want. My subs are usually males who have a mutation or marking that I really like and forgot to sex change. Before you King a new lion, you are given the option for keeping your current lions looks or the looks from the heir. Your King's stats will be whatever the heirs stats are. If you chose an heir above a certain age, their age is automatically dropped down to a certain spot (forgive me, but I cannot remember the ages).

- As far as I know, skulls are amusement items. Certain ones might be able to be crafted into something, but I am not 100% on which ones. I know if you have 30 Lion Skulls, you can craft and Ancient Lion Mask. Usually the skulls with more uses are worth more than those with less.

- Good and evil are just based off of game play style. Each have their own unique titles.

I hope I was able to answer some of the questions. I'll try to find some of the guides if I can.
