Name : Matthew "Matt" Adams Gender : Male Age : 26 Appearance : Personality : Matt is a very loving guy. He'll do anything just to hear a baby laugh. He is kind to all people, and has respect for people who are less fortunate/disabled. He was left behind in his childhood, his grandfather passing away with lung failure. That man was a great scientist and taught Matthew millions of things. On the other hand, Matt wishes to grow into a wonderful family with few kids and a loving wife. He's respectful to all women, though he will become cocky at the right times. After he graduated from the University of Alabama, studying the degree of Early Childhood Education, Matthew became a Kindergarten teacher for the passion of kids. He's always loved little ones, especially when they laugh. He loves his job completely, teaching little kids and their dimple-filled faces about words. Matt soon figured that children was what he lived for. He wanted some of his own, loved to teach them, and basically lived with them. Other : Ignore the puppy in his pic :1 0 players like this post! Rina's chest felt compressed, and was numb with pain from there down. She felt her breath struggle to push air into her lings, but having no issue with lerring the air out. Her eyes were shut tight, and a ringing was the only thing she heard. Fragments of so many things flashed in her head. Feeding Katy, a loud rummble, roar, Katy cowering, a door opening, Katy bolting out, Rina standing in the doorway, calling her retriever who was nowhere in sight, a huge shadow falling across the lawn. Rina saw herself walking out to the covered porch, calling for Katy, and then everything went black, an explosion of pain spreading from her lower half and her forehead. Rina tried opening her eyes, but when a blinding light tried blocking her view, she gave up and tried concentrating on her breath. Her mind flashed through memories as she tried to remember what she should do in case of an earthquake. If that even was an earthquake. Was she... Supposed to call for help? Open her eyes, take in the surroundings? She laid there for a few minutes, trying to gather her... Her... She didn't remember what she was trying to do. She tried opening her eyes, holding them in a squint as she tried looking around, but had to close her right eye from some liquid falling over it. Was it raining? With her open eye, she tried looking around, but only found everything around her spinning. She opened her lips and tried talking, attempting to scrape something out of her sore throught, passed her dry mouth. "H-help." Immense pain racked her brain. But she couldn't pass out again, not yet. Louder this time."H-help! Help!" Splitting pain shot through her head and chest, and she passed out again after struggling with one more "Help!" She hoped someone would hear, and see her... Help take of this board on top of her... Bring her... Katy... The ringing stopped, and darkness engulfed her. Rina lay on her stomach, half crushed under what used to be her porch and entryway. ((Hope this is good...? You can keep the name. McLough was just a worker at the lab who discovered and reported the missing lizard. I can change the name to something else if you want.)) 0 players like this post! Like? ( Oh alright :D Keep her name, it's fine. I'm gonna change Matt ) All Matthew remembered was playing around with his new stove, wondering how it worked. He was trying his best to cook a pasta for dinner. It didn't turn out well. Blackness had spread all over, dust particles flying everywhere, along with rubble. Had he blown up his kitchen? He didn't think so.. Matt awoke under a bit of rubble, but it didn't phase him. Only some bruising across his legs. He pushed it away and stood, brushing off his jeans. He could hear a faint yelp of what seemed as a woman's voice, and he quickly perked up. Someone was in trouble..? He charged out of what seemed like his door, but was a hole. He looked around, wondering where the noise was coming from. Matthew could no longer hear the whine for help, making him nervous. Did he let someone die? He glanced to the house next to his, finding a limp girl under boards of wood. His eyebrows raised in worry, striding over to the fallen house. Matt reached down, feeling her arm. She had a pulse, but was out cold. He pulled a few boards from her body, setting them aside. Matthew lifted up the girl, her jeans torn and her face covered in grey ash. He bit his lip, setting her down on what grass he found. He wondered if she'd wake up soon, or if he'd watch her pass. He wouldn't let that happen.. Matt huffed, thinking of ways to wake her up. He leaned down, pressing his lips against her lips quickly, breathing air through her pale lips. He pulled away, furrowing his eyebrows. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Rina felt a pressure on her lips, as if from a distance, miles and miles away, but... It couldn't of been. Was she dead? Oh god... She hoped not. If dying felt light and fluffy, then she wasn't dead. She felt heavy, leaden, as if she was swimming through a thick liquid, oil, or blood. She tried swimming to what she hoped was the surface. She needed to wake up and find her dog, Katy had to be close. The more she swam, the deeper she felt herself going, the harder to move it was. And the ringing was back, getting louder and louder with every passing moment until it reached it's peak, and disappeared. Rina felt a presence close by, and felt the lack of presser on her lower half, though her head still hurt, and the liquid was still slowly moving down her face. That's when she realized what it was, and what was going on. It was blood trickling down from her forehead. Rina felt nausciated, and knew that she wasn't dead yet. A soft moan escaped her throat, and she tried reaching her hand up to her forehead, to see where the injury was. Maybe she'd be able to bandage it whenever she gained complete consciousness. Which needed to be now. She had to get up and figure out what happened. She tried getting up, but immediately regretted it as her head started swimming, and what little she saw through slitted eyes began to spin uncontrollably. She squeezed her eyes shut and leaned on an elbow until her head started to throp less. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Matt brushed her hair out of her face, noticing the blood reaching her chin. He frowned. When she moved to prop herself on her elbow, he new she was awake. He sighed, looking to the sky and quietly thanking. He reached under her body again, only to lift her up. Matthew carried her to what part of her house was left, and what seemed to be her bathroom. He continued to hold her, looking through the many destroyed drawers. He finally found a box of large bandages and some disinfectant spray. Matthew lightly sprayed on the wound, patting it down with a paper towel. He laid a bandage among her pale forehead. As Matthew continued to bandage her, he heard the clicking of claws across what seemed as the rest of the floor. A whine quickly escaped something, making him nervous. Was something after him? Or maybe both of them? Soon enough, an ash covered golden retriever peeked her head into the bathroom, her ears perked with a gloom-filled face. It barked, making Matthew flinch lightly. She quickly padded over, or quickly limped, to the woman he was currently taking care of, sniffing her hand and licking her dirty cheek. Katy looked towards Matt, growling softly, her eyes narrowed. Surely, I didn't do anything.. The dog barked once more, a bit more forcefully, signaling Matthew to stand up. He'd never had a good experience with dogs. When he was little, his parents kept a Rottweiler in the backyard. Whenever he went outside, the dog would come up to him with bared teeth and deep growls. Matthew still has a scar from that dog, who is gladly deceased now. After remembering his past, Matthew quickly came back, looking to the golden dog. It stalked towards him, making him squint his eyes and hold his hands out. 0 players like this post! Like? |

A quick gasp escaped her as she felt the world turn upside down, and her body seemed weightless. She wondered what was happening, until she registered the feeling of someones arms beneath her. She opened her eyes again as she felt herself being set down, and focused on what was happening. Who are you? What are you doing? She wanted to ask, until she felt a stinging pain on her forehead, and pressure. He's bandaging me... So I might as well let him... She thought to herself. When Rina heard a shark sound, a growl, she looked over to see a big golden creature. "Katy!" she said, as sharply as she could, which wasn't her best. It came oit scratched, and the sound boomed in her head. "Be good." She commanded, much quieter this time, though she was sure the dog heard her. Katy nuzzled the hand that was held out to her before returning to Rina's side, nuzzling her owners hand until her hand lay on top of the soft head. Rina tried at a smile, and looked up at the other person that was there. "Sorry, she's probably just--" A quick ripple of coughs racked her, sending dust flying. "Shaken up." She finished. "I'm sorry..." She brought her hand up to her forehead and cringed. The wound would take a while to heal, and it would hurt the whole time. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Matthew sighed a relief, holding his mouth as he relaxed. He ran a hand through his messy hair as she spoke. "It's all good.. Just a bad experience with those," he said, pointing to the female retriever with a scratched finger. He watched her as she studied the bandage on her head, and he bit his lip. "I'm sorry if it hurts.. I didn't want it to become infected with the dust and dirt everywhere, and surely no doctors around." He brushed his jeans off as he stood back up, looking down towards her. Matt smiled. "I don't know if you clearly know me.. But, I'm Matthew Adams. Your next door neighbor." A rumble was heard, and Matt looked around. The bathroom "roof" cracked, and he raised his eyebrows. "Can you stand?!" he asked quickly. He didn't want to be trapped under anything, and surely he didn't want the beautiful woman, too, either. Matthew knew the woman didn't clearly trust him, since she never actually knew him. He bit his lip, knowing any minute the house would crumble and they would both be in a mess. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 21/01/17 @ 12:40:01 by Cookie_Monster's Cupcakes (#70898) |

Rina looked down at Katy, her hand still resting on the golden head. "She's really a sweatheart." She told him, her voice getting stronger and less scratchy with every time she spoke. "No, it's fine. Thank you." She replied, refering to his bandaging. "Pain is easier to deal with than infection." She was about to continue with telling him her own name, that she had seen him around once or twice, but she was interrupted by the groan of the still-standing part of the house, signaling that it wouldn't be still-standing for much longer. She gave a shrug and then tried standing up. As soon as weight went onto her left ankle, pain shot up through her leg amd she gasped, falling back down. Another creak and groan. Rina knew she'd have to get up now, or else she wouldn't be able to later, or ever again. She stood once more, keeping all weight off of her left leg. "I think it's sprained." She tried taking a step forward, putting as little weight on her left leg as possible. Pain shot up her leg again, only for a moment. Another creak and snap filled the immediate area. "We have to get out. It's gonna fall." Rina called for Katy, and the golden dog bolted out of the room, into the yard, barking at the two of them to follow her. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Matthew watched her as she limped, and he quickly frowned. Would they make it? Would she? He didn't want to pick her up and make her uncomfortable, but then, she would be the most likely to not make it. He bit his lip, looking from the retriever to the girl. He walked over to her, picking her up with the strength he had left, carrying her out of the house as quick as possible. The retriever whined as the house finally collapsed, making Matthew step back with the woman still wrapped in his arms. He looked to the dog, who stared up at the two. He set Rina down carefully, though didn't want to as her ankle was still hurt. "We should find a place to stay.. It's too dangerous here in Plyth.." OOC : Short D: 0 players like this post! Like? |

Rina tried taking another step when she was swept off her feet, surprising her, but she wasn't complaining. She felt relief for the few moments that her body wasn't intact with the ground. But it only made room for her to remember the throbbing in her head. She squeezed her eyes shut and leaned against him until she felt her right foot touch the ground once more. She slowly lowered herself down to the ground. She held a hand to her head and looked around the house. "Thank you." She said, almost as if she was appologizing instead. "I agree..." She looked around the rummage of what used to be her house, teying to think of something, but she didn't know what. She looked over at Katy, and tried to remember what she would do if an animal had broken a bone... "A splint. I need a splint." She half whispered to herself. She looked up at Matthew. "Sorry to ask... But would you mind possibly finding two or three, let's say, six inch rods of wood? Or any size, really, as long as I can make a splint." She started getring up again, using her arms to prop her up while her right leg was bent and her left one was straight. "I can help look..." Rina shook her head, finally standing up. "I'm sorry, you don't have to. You should just go on, find somewhere safe. Thanks for everything you've done so far." 0 players like this post! Like? |

"I'm not leaving you.. Especially when you're injured. Plus, I believe we're the only ones left in our neighborhood. You stay here.. I'll get the wood." Matthew turned, quickly looking around for some wood. Her porch boards would work, right? He squatted, picking up about five boards. "Do these work?" he asked. Matt bit his lip, slowly bending down to scratch behind the female's ears, nervously. Katy licked his wrist, though a whine escaped her muzzle as she moved closer to him. He looked up to Rina. "Do you need any help? I can get some other things.. I can help make it." He shrugged. Matthew rubbed Katy's side, staring up at the woman. Rina was a fairly pretty girl, and he was scared she would become more injured if he left her. Matt smiled up towards her, continuing to affectionately pet her dog. Katy set her head in his lap, and he sighed, looking down at her with anxiety. Would she bite his wrist off? She flicked an ear, and Matthew looked back up to his neighbor. 0 players like this post!
