Good as the main male art is, I think we can all agree that every male has a bit of...well... same-face going on. The manes and colors provide an illusion of difference, but I think it would be very nice if the males were facially unique. Now, I'm not much in the mood for draw and honestly don't think I'm great with realistic lions anyhow, so I'll just used pictures I found.

Let's look at this boy here. Unlike the current default art, he's very place and his features are very rounded and soft. He looks friendly. I'd call this the Soft Featured male.

82a76bfd39dfdcf95fd46e5ba467b534.jpg The male is more even. He isn't too round or too rugged or squared. He's has Balanced Features.

0025-0503-2018-2205_lion_face.jpg This lion, I think, has some interesting and notable features. I struggle for a name though.

398861__aslan-narnia-lion_p.jpg If you've seen Narnia, you know who this boy is! Would make quite a handsome lion. I'm thinking it could be breed only. We'll call it Majestic features.

lion_profile__serengeti_by_tanzafari-d4lars7.jpg A Lion with more slender features. Scar-like, if you will. I call this one Slender features.

young_male_lion-1920x1440.jpg And for those lions who never quite grow out of their cub look. "Baby faced" lions if you will. Note the larger eyes in relation to the rest of the face. These lions could be called Youthful featured or, for those who were prefer something more "sophisticated", Neotenic features.
Funfact: Lions have rosettes as cubs, but the generally disappear as adults. When they don't, this is called Neotony.

Introduction

I'm seeing them being introduced via NCLs during events. NCLs with certain personalities would have certain facial shapes that her sons could inherit.

Good and Kind lionesses could have the Soft features and Neotenic features.
Snark lionesses could have Slender and Rugged.
Neutral lionesses could have Balanced and Majestic
Evil Lionesses could have the Unnamed Face (think I might call it Scruffy).

The sons personality doesn't affect anything. A Kind cub can look Scruffy as an adult and an evil one can have Soft features. Like poses, this is aesthetic mostly, although these can pass like facial features tend to do. If both parents have features (lionesses would passively carry unless art was made for them too-- doubtful), a male has a 40/40 chance of looking like one parent or the other and a 20% chance of falling somewhere in the middle of the feature scale if applicable.

Neotenic|Soft|Slender|Balanced|Scruffy|Rugged|Majestic

Note: A lion one peg apart from each other has no chance of a middle ground. For example if a lioness with rugged features mates with a lion with majestic features, they can only have Rugged or Majestic cubs. However if a Neotenic male and Majestic female mate, their children could potentially be everything in-between.

Even if it'd be a very slight lineart change only, we're worried how it'd collide with many decors onsite that use lineart to a pixel - bodypaints, expressions, etc. Each face change would need separate decors and thus become a pose, or we'd have to introduce whole new face-shape system into coding/wardrobe.
This suggestions remains in air as we're just not able to figure out efficient and good system to deal with this.
