You bring your Karma back to 0 using the item "Cleansing Ichor" found in the Monkey Business. Monkey Business It costs 300sb to buy!

There are certain perks for evil or positive karma. Evil karma results in more EXP (Experience) since you are fighting more NPCs (Non-Player Character). Good karma would result in more impression, since you are helping, or saving, in the explore encounters. :)

Personally I prefer negative karma, because I find it is easier to maintain and continue to decrease. I also find it is generally more profitable - you can get a lot more carcasses (to feed your lions, or to sell) from choosing negative karma options in various explore encounters, for example.

Overall it's all down to personal choice and which you'd prefer to do though - there's no right or wrong answer :)

I have bad karma here and good karma on my side account. While bad karma is easier, good karma has its perks too. And encounters with small bad karma results, like smashing the warthog for food, won't damage you if you decide to go good. Same with good karma encounters like backing away from the mongoose. (Which really you should do anyway since fighting it gets you one small mongoose treat at the cost of 20 energy. Not worth it.)

Examples of karma encounters:
Barbary Lion: Good - hippo carcass. Bad: EXP.
Good: Black Lion - fight or elephant skull.
Bad: White Lion - fight or white lion pelt (craft-able and nesting material)
