There was once a war amongst the werewolves. Many died and the need for revenge hung heavy over the two warring packs. One side lost its alpha and from there it fell apart. The other lost many of their females, which hurt them to the point of near collapse. However, both sides rose again. They were led forward, through the pain, through the misery, and onto the future. Yet, their grudges are hard to let go, and violence lingers whenever the two packs meet. Character SheetsView and Post Character Sheets0 players like this post! Like? |

"I've always wanted to have a big four poster bed in this large room, with a soft fluffy rug on the floor infront of his large, magnificent fireplace, with a roaring fire going. I can imagine the room large but cosy, with big, tall windows on the outside wall. Of course when I ever imagine that its in a castle and I pretend I'm a princess." Saffie mused, completely oblivious to the more inappropriate thoughts that had been in Clayton's mind when suggesting a bed near a fire. Her thought processes were halted when he mentioned that it was his leg among other things. It was clear that in close quarters with little to focus his mind he was like a man with a boy's attention span. With a huff she crossed her arms across her chest, forcing them between their chests as she gave him her best firm look that often worked wonders with her twin brothers. "Now listen. I will not have you using that bedroom tone of voice when others could hear it. If you can't control yourself then... then... I'll put you in a time out!" She frowned herself at the mention of a time out but she knew she couldn't go back on what she said. It might not be the most mature thing in the world but it was very hard to think with every woman's dream man pressed up against you willingly and with interest in you. None of this was fake. It was real and Saffie couldn't help but be extremely happy about that. Still, some things were meant for certain places with certain requirements and she knew if she let Clayton lead things as he was she'd end up going too far too soon. "Clay, you are going to stand up, help me up like a gentleman and then you can sit on the loveseat and I'll sit in the chair where we can talk and behave like proper adults. If or when I feel ready to do... things that require less clothes I shall let the appropriate person know. Until then clothes stay on and you don't wander. Please... we've gone so far so quickly already. I'm not ready for more, and certainly not outside the Mating mark. I'm not that kind of woman Clayton. I... I need you to respect my wishes, just as I respect your instincts. I've never pulled away from you have I? I've never pushed aside your hand or arm. I haven't argued with you when you said 'Mine' even though I'm not sure where this conviction comes from." Saffie took a deep breath, exhaling as she let her arms uncross themselves before running her hands down his thick arms. "I'm not experienced in any of this Clayton and its clear your kiss distracts me completely. You are a very good kisser but we both can't afford to loose our minds. I know its unfair but sometimes when I can't say no and pull away, I need you to do so instead. I need to know that no matter what happens I can trust you with every inch of me both visable and not, both physical and not. As silly as this sounds considering what you mentioned previously, I need to know that you can take care of me, properly, without male instinct over-ruling your judgement." She finished, looking up at him softly and pleadingly as she tried to make it clear she wasn't mad with him at all. Of course she wasn't. She really liked him. It was just that she liked him so much that when he touched her she often found herself forgetting to do anything but follow his lead. She liked it, she did, but laid on the floor like this a small part of her had been willing to go further and ignore all warnings and desires she'd had earlier. That scared her more then anything. His touch could make her do things she'd never thought to do and go against desires she had since she knew what the desires were. "I just don't want there to be any regrets between us and I know even if I might love it now and in the future if we did more now, I would still regret it just a little bit that I hadn't waited until we were properly Mated and lost all my firsts as a proper Mate as it should be. Its a special moment for me that only happens once. My life still start anew with you. That first night as Mates with be the start of the beginning, a special time where any and every other firsts can begin for both of us. I won't ask for much Clay, but I do ask you for this. I don't know how old you are or how long you waited for me, and I feel bad for asking for more time of you, but please... can you just respect my wishes to wait? I don't have the strength to say no every time your instincts, and mine, get the better of you." Of course all this was said after he had mentioned his Beta and Pack, answering the questions she had asked which she had listened to every word. Her chest rose and fell rapidly, her whole body felt boiling hot to her and all she wanted to do was hold Clayton tightly but she knew she had to calm down. Since bathing wasn't an option she knew she would have to open some windows to let the wind in. Hopefully that would cool them both down. "Would you like some water?" The water could help too. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Clayton felt his wolf begin a low growl in his mind, the beast pacing as she began to tell him exactly what he was going to do. If she knew what kind of beast that laid under his skin, growing more and more agitated from a mix of unresolved desire and apparently unrequited need, she would probably be a lot less calm about the whole situation. The thing was having more issues as she continued to speak, making him go insane as she told him that she would let him know if she felt like doing something like that, not knowing that it only made his wolf snarl lowly. He had to push it away, knowing she had absolutely no clue what she was doing by denying him in that moment with commands. She had no clue that for the last one hundred and fifty years, nearly one hundred and fifty-one, he had been frustrated, mateless and aching for her. Saffie didn’t know that she was making his blood wolf into a resentful little beast in his mind, wanting to show her just how he took commands. Instead, he jerked his hands from her skin as if she was a live wire and pressed them into the ground besides her hips. Touching her was becoming dangerous, and his eyes were ruby red as he carefully tried to think and make sure he didn’t scare her. She also didn’t know that to him, they were already mated, had been for such a long time. All he had to do was find her. Yet, she denied their connect unknowingly, which made him want to hit the ground, but he kept himself from any action. His body became stiffer as he tried to fight with his wolf for reason, some kind of reason. Each time he searched for it, his wolf came up with another reason that having reason made no sense, like the fact that she was questioning his instinct and his own control which was so very tight in that moment that it was practically choking him. He closed his eyes, keeping back all the irritated sounds that wanted to leave him. Her touch did not help him, in fact, his wolf was snapping at the fact that she continued to touch him, to test his own resolve whether she knew what she was doing or not. Instead of looking at her, he kept his face buried against her skin, trying to not let her see his eyes and the fact that his eyes were angry and at the same time pained. If she could see the conflicting emotions and the red eyes, she would be no doubt confused. Clay ground his teeth as she practically said that doing anything then and there would be a regret. She wanted proper. Clayton knew he wasn’t proper and that any man that had gone so long without touching his mate would no doubt have gone mad, completely insane. His wolf whined lowly as she told him he would have to wait longer, much longer. He pushed away quickly, standing in a matter of seconds and pacing away, her scent burning through his nose again and again. His eyes were unfocused and ruby red from his own primal, genetic instincts pushing him into some sort of action. Water? He let out a choked laugh, shaking his head. A frozen lake would not get rid of the feelings pulsing through him, especially if she was anywhere nearby. Clayton knew her scent would only drive him crazier the longer he was next to her and the longer he didn’t have her as his, and just his. It was yet another part of being a blood wolf. Time wasn’t something they could afford if they waited a certain amount of time for their mate. They were driven to want to claim them as soon as they found them, which was getting harder and harder to deny. “Damn if water can do anything,” he muttered, shaking his head. His hand went to his hair, tugging his hand through it until it was unruly. His muscles constricted every so often before letting go as if there was some sort of internal battle going on inside him. “I-I need space right now,” he said in a strained voice. He stopped by the closed window and knew his wolf was trying to come out in a sudden moment of clarity. The beast needed to do something. He wanted to touch his mate, get closer to his mate, and commit in the way that was ingrained in his kind years before. He grabbed onto the side of the window, his grasp harsh and his eyes still unfocused as his eyes became more and more wolf-like and his teeth felt like they were sharpening. He hadn’t felt the slow transformation into his wolf for such a long time and he knew that it meant that he was denying the wolf inside him too much. It would be dangerous for him to deny the transformation, especially when the wolf was so frustrated. “I’m going to get in contact with my pack. Don’t leave this house. Don’t you dare let anyone in until I get back. I don’t want to sound cruel, but I want you to stay safe while I’m gone,” he stressed with his teeth gritted together. He hated the idea of leaving her, but that was the only way he could possibly clear his mind. Her scent just grew stronger the longer he stayed anywhere with her. If he couldn’t have her, then he couldn’t smell so much of her at once like he was. He walked to the door and paused there, unable to leave her as he felt his fists clench and unclench as he tried to think, and tried to force himself to leave before the transformation into a werewolf was pushed on him. 0 players like this post! Things had gone wrong and almost instantly she wanted to take it all back. Saffie didn't know quite what was going on but panic filled her as she felt the distance, not just physically, grow further that she may not see him again. She shouldn't have said anything. She should have just let him do whatever he wanted and just try to find a way later to hide any negative feelings that came of it. She could get a journal or something, write it down and vent it out until it didn't matter or that she could surpress it enough that she'd forget about it. It might not be healthy and it wouldn't really be what she wanted but at least he'd be happy and he'd be with her. She could just let him have her on the dusty, wooden floor of her father's home with her siblings and father overhead. It might not be the special declaration of love she had been waiting for but she could get that later, right? So, it may not be the first thing she experienced as a woman. There were lots of other women that just let men do as they wished from a very early age and they seemed... okay. His touch would make her forget as he indulged, and maybe he'd fall asleep straight after so she could hide any small trace of regret before he woke. He was so certain she was his Mate anyway so it wasn't as if she would be doing it with someone she hadn't even known a day... Saffie bit her bottom lip as she slowly stood, trying her hardest to ignore her sensible side that said this could all be some act, a line, to have as he wished. She'd seen it happen before to others. Even he'd mentioned a previous Alpha had sweet talked a female, made her believe they would be Mates and never followed through. "Don't go... please. I didn't mean it. Any of it. I was just panicking I guess. You make me feel so much that I don't even know how to describe it all. We could go to the stream deeper in the forest. We'd have some privacy there and no one would overhear us. I really want you. I really want us." She told him, her voice soft as she slowly approached him at the door. She reached a hand out to touch his waist, curving around his hip and doing her best to imitate his 'bedroom voice'. "Please, I want to make you happy." That was true. She did want to make him happy. What Saffie hated the most was that she was acting just like one of those brainless female leads who abandoned everything they'd been raised with, everything she knew, just to make the man in their life happy without any true reassurance for her that it was love, true love, and in those stories the woman always ended up with a broken heart and a body with an empty spirit due to the false pretenses. She could hear her siblings upstairs talking, although what they said was undecipherable. She knew she had raised them to never follow blindly, to never give anything to someone you didn't completely trust with head, heart, and body. She supposed this would be another lesson for them: do as I say and not as I do. She supposed it was bound to happen at one point but it had never occurred to her for it to happen so soon or like this. So maybe there wouldn't be a fire or a comfy bed, or candles or roses, or declarations of love. At least it was with a man that looked like he'd stepped out of her dreams of her fantasy man. He was nice to her as well. He was the only man in thirty one years that had shown interest and he was an Alpha male. For a low ranked Werewolf like herself it would be a huge step up. She could buy lots of pretty things, the Pack could be really nice and she'd make new friends. It could be a good life. Maybe some things would happen sooner then she'd like but thousands, even millions, of women before her and done what was needed, buried their negative emotions and desires and pleased their men. So what if she had hoped and dreamed of something different? So what if she had thought she would be different and had grown up to be so or so she had thought? Her mother had never grown up to be murdered but it had happened and this would happen too. It was just something that needed to be done. Like tearing a skirt to be able to mount a horse and just sewing it up later to fix it. It would be just the same thing. She could do this. She'd have other dreams and hopes. She would focus on them instead and forget these. It would be fine. "Lets go Mate." Saffie whispered softly, moving her hand to take his as she walked out the door to head to the forest. She showed nothing on her face but softness and a smile, burying all else deep inside. 'Other women have done this before and so can I. I can take on my Werewolf form without a need for a man. If I can do that then I can do this.' 0 players like this post! Like? |

Clayton knew her words were too good to be true the instant she said them. His eyes closed as he felt her stand behind him, trying to take everything she had said truthfully back and try to please him. He didn’t know how he knew, but he just couldn’t believe she was telling him the whole truth when she said that she was willing to go into the stream in the forest and do whatever he wanted there. Oh, but his wolf was whining, needing his mate more and more as her smell encased him with desire and the need to claim her as his and only his. Yet, the human side of him knew that she had been telling him the truth before when she had denied him. She wanted to wait. His mate didn’t want to rush. However, it seemed, she also didn’t want to lose him as much as he hated the thought of leaving her. Her hand touched his waist, and curled around his hip, making his wolf howl eagerly. Though he was having a physical response to everything she was doing, his mind said no, over and over again. He couldn’t do this to her, take her virginity in the woods like he was some animal and she was just a female to sate his needs. Clayton wanted her to love him, to want him without feeling like she was about to lose him at a moment’s notice. Hadn’t she said to him how she had been afraid of doing something wrong and making him angry before? What if this was just another moment she was trying to make him happy? It just felt wrong. He wanted her to want him as much as he wanted her, to want them to be together, wrapped in each other’s arms without having to worry about those stupid regrets she talked about. All he knew in that moment was that she would regret doing this with him. Even as she took his hand, trying to lead him off into the forest, to the stream, he felt it. Even as she called him her mate, making his wolf even more eager to have her, he felt it. So, before she could really head off too far he stopped where they stood, letting her quickly realize that he wasn’t budging. They were a bit from the house, but it was still easily in their line of sight. He stood there, red eyes so confused and desire still lingering in his expression. There was also a sadness in his eyes. “Dont.” His voice was a whisper. “Don’t you lie to me.” His voice a bit louder as he stared at her, his lips falling into a line. “Don’t act like everything is fine when it obviously isn’t. I’ve seen you enough to know when you are telling me the truth. What you did right here, this isn’t what you want. Sure, some of what you said, I can very well believe. This, though, I can’t,” he stated with a frown coming onto his face. “I want you Saffie. You are my mate, make no mistake about that. My wolf is going crazy in my head right now, and is practically ready to attack me for what I’m doing, but I can’t do this. I’ve waited a very, very long time Saffie. I’ve waited a damn century and a half for someone, but I’m not going to accept someone who will look back on their first time with me and wish for something more, something better,” he muttered, rubbing his face with his head, his eyes still ruby red and his teeth still strangely wolf-like. Clay looked at her closely. “You say you want this but you don’t, not really. Damned if I know if you even want me as your mate at this point. However, I can’t do this, not with you, not out in the woods out of all places! I- I can’t right now Saffie. Your scent is everywhere, my wolf is crazed with the need to claim, and I honestly am feeling it too. You want more, more that I will give if I just can have some space from your scent, your beautiful face, the sweet sound of your voice, if only for a few hours,” he rasped, his hand wanting to stroke her face, but knowing that if he did do that, it would go farther and he would push too far again. Instead, he clenched and unclenched his hand. “Please, just go back to your siblings, and just stay there. I’ll be back, I swear it. I can’t have anyone else Saffie. There is no one else that I can possibly have in the entire world which is why I need you so badly. If you end up hating me, I couldn’t live with that, knowing I was the cause, You are the only mate I will ever have,” he explained his eyes completely sincere as he stared at her. “I’ll- I’ll explain why when I get back. You can distract me with every question you have in that head of yours pertaining to me, and I’ll gladly answer it as long as we aren’t touching. Right now, touching is becoming too much, because then I just want to kiss you and that leads me to think about a lot of things that aren’t exactly the most appropriate before we are done with the mating ceremony, right?” he tried to smile, but it faltered as he watched her, real pain in his eyes as he took a few steps away. “Please, go to the house. Let me know you are safely inside before I go, I’m begging you. Besides, if you are willing to go into the woods with me when you want something more, then how about I trade that in for some trust that I’ll return to claim what is mine, hmm?” Clayton just stared at her, unable to take his eyes off of her, unable to take his attention away from her. Even his hands wished to hold onto her, which she didn’t want him to do, not to the extent that it would go if he was to give in. So, he just had to hope she would understand and give him space in that moment. It wasn’t an out for him to leave her. Clay couldn’t leave her, especially when they had not even mated yet, not for too long. The thought scared him, the thought of losing her. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Saffie turned back and looked at Clayton in confusion as he came to a halt which forced her to stop. Why were they stopping now? Did he prefer a different location? Did he prefer the risk of being caught? Her thoughts ceased however as he began to speak and once he started he didn't seem to be able to stop. She felt overwhelmed. Then again that seemed to be the usual state for her when she was around Clayton. What did he mean that he had been waiting for over a century for her? His eyes were definitely blood red now and his teeth... They were so sharp. She'd never seen someone so close to shifting into their Werewolf form without doing so before. This was all so confusing. He was denying her or him or maybe even both... Either way he was adament it seemed that they would not be going into the woods to make him happy. His words were a strange mix of scolding, hurtful, and yet sweet at the same time. It left her feeling something like whiplash as she tried to decide what to react to first and then what to tell Clayton. She didn't want him to leave on such bad terms yet it seemed it might happen anyway. No matter what she did she seemed to do the wrong thing and that hurt her as much as it did him. "I don't understand." Saffie admitted, letting her hand drop to her side so they were no longer touching. "I don't understand a lot about you, or relationships, or physical things. I don't even know what to do. I try to do whats right and its wrong, then I try it your way and I'm still wrong. I really don't understand. I'm lost. I feel like we're playing a game, a game where I know the name but not the rules, and I'm left trying to play without even a guide to tell me the most basic facts about the game." She sighed, running a hand through her untamed hair as she tried to figure out what she was supposed to do. "No matter what I do I seem to lose. You're every woman's dream man Clayton. Its like you stepped out of my mind and came to life, and what am I supposed to do with that? You want me. No other male ever has, not even as a best friend, then out of the blue there you are and you're kissing me. Me. I like it. Too much. I forget that this doesn't happen in real life, that I'm not this fictional princess thats been waiting for her true love prince to find her. I forget everything except the fact that even though things like this never happen to me, I don't care and thats what scares me. I like you, I do, but I'm scared this isn't real. That I'll fall and fall hard, I know I will with you, and I'll just turn over in our bed and you won't be there, and suddenly I realise I'm back here, at home, and this never happened, and it was all just wishful thinking." Saffie glanced away from Clayton then before stepping aside. What could she do? If he wanted to go then he would go, and she would have to wait. She had been waiting for thirty one years for someone to understand her, to love her, to take care of her instead of her having to take care of them. She really thought she'd found it in Clayton. She wasn't so sure now. She'd been clear from the start that she had wanted to wait until the proper Mate rituals had taken place. She'd never been unclear or vague on this and yet when she tried to enforce this, to remind him, she was in the wrong and being yelled at, commanded to stay in the house like a misbehaving child that had gone out vandalising something or robbing someone's bag. Maybe he'd be the man she'd dreamed of after they had reached his Pack or maybe that just wasn't him. Either way he wanted to leave, he was commanding her to stay like he was her father and she had no other option available to her except to run away which would prove pointless. He would find her. "Go. I'll be in the house." She spoke softly before walking back inside the house and shutting the door with a resounding click. Saffie went straight to her room, picked up her favourite romance book, and tried her hardest to lose herself in the story where things made sense. 0 players like this post! Like? |

He knew he probably made no sense to her as he moved from one mood into another, but it was his damn wolf and their emotions conflicting again and again. Whenever his wolf heard anything to do with their relationship and her rejecting it, rejecting him, the beast became very upset and unable to control its own anger and exasperation. In its mind it was so simple. Yet, Clayton knew it was far more complicated. After all, he didn’t want her unwilling and yet he didn’t want to wait. It was something he was in the middle of a standstill with. Despite the fact that he wanted her then and there, he knew he couldn’t have her, which was torture itself, knowing she was so close and not being able to take her like he wanted to. She even admitted that she didn’t understand and he could see the confusion in her eyes. Perhaps he was being too harsh on her. She didn’t understand him, but he would have to put in effort into making sure that she understood better before they went any further, even if it killed him. Besides, there was so much more that he still knew he had to tell her and didn’t want to make her regret being with him after learning the truth of everything and of him. With a sigh, he listened to her words, eyes softening, yet his wolf was unable to stop pressing him to change. He continued to hold the beast off, knowing he would eventually give in to the need to let him free. Maybe she was wondering about his eyes, his teeth, and the fact that he seemed to be so animal-like while not changing. He knew it as strange for a werewolf to be able to get so close to shifting, yet keep it away. That came with practice as well. Over the years there had to be a line he could draw and some way he could hold back the urge to change. With his own strength and stubbornness he was able to hold it back and make sure that it didn’t scare anyone. Her words made him want to wince, knowing that was again his need and his reason clashing. The human part of him wanted her to want him fully and completely and the werewolf part of him just wanted her in general. So, when he was denied, he got upset, and when he was certain she didn’t actually want him it hurt his human half and made that half of him upset. Usually, both sides of him could agree on things, but with Saffie, it was different. He wanted to romance her, to make her happy with him, but his wolf just wanted her to be his mate and be with him. He sighed as she told him that he was every woman’s dream, that he was too perfect to be true, especially in her position as she saw herself. Clayton didn’t understand what the males thought was wrong with her. She was beautiful, sweet, loved her family, and was smart enough to figure out how to survive in their world without the guidance most needed to survive. It was admirable. Not only that, but her scent was something else, attracting him to her like a bone to a dog. Clay wanted to reassure her that he wouldn’t leave her, but couldn’t. Instead, he could only watch her as she told him to go, to leave, and that she would be in the house. Then, she walked away. His wolf whined as the space between them increased, physically pained by the loss. She probably wouldn’t feel it as much as he could, but he was pained and his wolf was whimpering in his mind at the idea of leaving her. Even so, he took off his clothes, and changed. With one last look at the house he picked the clothes up in his mouth and bounded away towards his territory. His wolf ran faster than it ever had before, their minds melding in this singular form. He wanted to get back to his mate, so he would work as hard as he possibly could to get to her. His legs stretched long and his run turned into a sprint as he traveled. The distance between their packs wasn’t too far, but there was a river that divided them, a border that he remembered from when they had been at war. Many battles had been fought on the edges of their territories, and so many lives were lost that the river had been stained red for a year after everything was said and done. Clayton ran, and ran, until he made it to the edges of his territory and let loose a long, calling howl. He was panting, trying to catch his breath as he waited. His body was anxious, even then, wanting to hurry along the process in any way possible. So, he changed, not bothering with clothes as he watched two of his sub-betas rush forward at his call. They both looked surprised and smiles were on their faces. He glowered. “Get at least two carriages ready. Prepare the manor for an assortment of permanent guests. There must be rooms for two twin boys, two sisters, an ailing and probably angry father who needs room to roam and contemplate along with someone to make sure he is doing well, and finally, get my townhouse cleaned up. I’ll also need Dorian, Vincent, and, you, Mitrelles, to come to her territory,” he explained with a nod to them. The sub-betas seemed to digest the information quickly, used to their alpha’s moods by then. “Of course, alpha. Wouldn’t you like me to come along as well,” the shorter, fawn-haired male asked with an inquisitive, and slightly hurt, eye. “Leo, you know I need you here to help keep the fort held down. You are invaluable in your ability to fight and I need you to be able to lead any warriors if needed,” Clayton stated. Leo nodded his head, only slightly placated by what he had been told. They knew what Clayton had been through, but they still didn’t believe war was so close to breaking out. Yet, Clay was always on edge, wondering if there was an enemy at work, especially scarred from the war that had lasted such a long, long time. “You can follow my scent back, correct?” They both nodded. “Of course, alpha! You are the easiest person to find!” Mitrelles exclaimed with a light-hearted chuckle. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 15/03/17 @ 19:06:33 by HearMeRoar (#27573) |

"Oh, Clay! You're back." Saffie exclaimed in surprise, sitting up in her bed where she had fallen asleep with the book on her chest. "Of course I am darlin'. I would never leave you behind especially when I needed to tell you I was being selfish and that you deserve to be romanced properly and thoroughly. You deserved to be swept off your feet, not just used for my instincts and urges. Please forgive me, darlin'." He replied as he strode purposefully towards the bed. His strong hand held out for hers and the second she placed her hand in his he jerked up into a standing motion with one fluid, strong movement causing the book that had fallen from her chest to her lap to then fall onto the floor. "I want to take you to see every inch of the world. I'm going to treat you like the princess you are. I want to drape you in silks, spoil you with scents, and introduce you to everything our world has to offer. Then when the moment comes where we say I love you, I'll make you mine, you will make me yours, and we will be Mates for the rest of our lives. If you don't like the home I have them we will build a new home from scratch. We'll make it ours, we'll decorate it together, and I'll leave you fresh, exotic flowers by your bedside every time I have to leave earlier then you in the morning, or come in long after you've fallen asleep. We will find out everything about each other, and in time I can't wait to see that beautiful body of yours swell with our puppies and experience the next chapter in our lives - as parents." Saffie almost swooned with his heartfelt words. Clearly he was far more romantic then she gave him credit for. She couldn't believe how lucky she had gotten. He really seemed to understand her and her need for them to know each other deeply before any sort of physical intimacy took place. He really seemed to want to do that, to romance her far more then his instincts wanted to bed her. The look in his eyes was full of affection and respect. There was nothing dark, primal, or lustful in them at all. He just saw her. Not what he could do with her. "Oh Clay..." She half moaned, half sighed happily, "I lo-" That was when a rather vigorous shake sent her flying off the bed with a thud. Her front hit the wooden, dusty flooring, her stomach winded by hitting the book that had fallen off her and landed on the floor just seconds before she did. "Oh gosh! I'm so sorry Saffie. I didn't mean to shake you so hard. Its just you wouldn't wake and I know you won't want to leave packing to the last minute." Ruby told her apologetically as she helped her older sister up onto her feet. Ruby couldn't help but frown at the red blotches on her sister's face. She must have cried before she fell asleep last night, shortly after Clayton had left, but Ruby couldn't think of a thing that could have made her sister so upset to cry herself to sleep. She'd never seen her sister cry before. She'd never heard her cry before. "Saffie, are you okay?" She asked softly, her right hand reaching to cup Saffie's cheek. "Hm? Oh yes of course. Its just the dust finally getting to me. Is everyone up? Have they had breakfast?" Saffie asked, picking up her book and putting it on her bed before making her way to her small wardrobe. "Yes, we had some bread and jam. Daddy has been murmurring this morning and his eyelids have been fluttering as well as his fingers twitching so he might be finally stirring. Jasper and Malachite have taken all the clothes and linen down to the kitchen and are helping Emmie to clean it all so its ready for transport. Don't worry, Emmie seems to have remembered how you do the washing so thats fine. I've been packing up daddy's things upstairs. I let you lay in until mid-morning since you had such a busy day yesterday. Are you sure you're okay?" Ruby told her, informing her sister of everything that had happened so far. Saffie selected one of her usual dresses, only this one had a tan waistband and beige skirt, before facing her sister to encourage her from the room. "Okay, well I'll check on Emmie and the boys in a minute. Can you make sure the boys have packed properly one more time, and then you may as well get started on packing for yourself. Off you go. I'm absolutely fine. I'll be moving from this Pack to move in with my Mate later today or tomorrow so I've got a lot to do." With that she finally managed to get Ruby out of her room. Grasping her dress, underwear, stockings, and shoes, Saffie headed to the bathroom to take a bath. It took a while to heat the water over the small fire inside the bathroom but once there was a decent amount of warm water in the bath, Saffie stripped off and bathed herself. She made it quick and functional, making sure her face was clear of any redness, before drying off with a thin, plain towel. It didn't take much longer to dress, shoving her hair up into a simple bun, before leaving the bathroom to check on the twins and Emmie washing the linen and clothes. it seemed Emmie did infact remember how she did it, so with that off her mind Saffie got herself some bread, jam, and a pot of tea before she began to sort through the kitchen to find out what she would leave behind and what she would take. 0 players like this post! With the carriage situation settled, he turned into his wolf once more, giving his two sub-betas a long look before barking at them to get into motion. Immediately the two began to move, with Mitrelles giving a slight chuckle at his alphas urgency. Still, they hurried off, splitting off to handle different things at the same time. Clayton shook his head, and began once more towards his mate’s home, knowing that it would take some time to get back. He was growing weary and knew he hadn’t slept in far too long. Still, his wolf wouldn’t rest until he had his mate safely within his grasp so he knew she wouldn’t be harmed. As he ran, his wolf crossing the land as fast, or perhaps even faster, than a horse. His paws hit the ground, leaving small indents in the mud instead of taking any gravel or stone roads. He knew the sight of them would give his sub-betas an easier time to find him then if they were to just try to sniff him out. Clayton felt something wrong in the air, scenting it first and then realizing quickly that there was someone there with him, an enemy. Except, it wasn’t from his mate’s pack or his own. The scent was off, making the air seemingly change around him into something else. It was almost as if their scent was disguised, but his senses were far too enhanced to be tricked. When the two werewolves ran into view, Clayton wasn’t surprised at the obviously planned ambush. Instead, he tackled one of them to the ground, his teeth going straight for the wolf’s neck. His jaw clenched as he tore it while he and the other wolf tumbled off to the one side, hitting the ground a few times before their momentum was finally stopped. By then his opponent was whimpering and jerking in his grasp, throat already torn quite terribly close to being beyond repair. Before the other could attack his defenseless back, Clayton spun, leaving the one on the ground and faced the other with ruby red eyes and a rolling snarl leaving his throat. His shoulders were hunched up, tensed and ready to move, and body was primed. When the other moved to attack him, Clayton met him in an explosive collision. The fight was quick, too quick to catch with anyone’s eyes. Fur moved, Clay’s black against a dark brown, and sounds echoed in the air. However, Clayton stood victorious, standing proud and his eyes taking in the two enemies that were passed out on the ground, and the sight of blood on the ground. Without another look, he continued to bound forward, his body marred with a few scratches and bites, but they didn’t hurt, already in the process of healing, though it was a bit slower due to his exhaustion and the fact that he wasn’t going to be resting until he had his mate and knew she was safe. So, he ran, his paws slamming against the ground again and again. Harsh pants left him, showing how hard he was working to make sure that he got back to her. His wolf was solely focused, and he didn’t want to begin to think about what the scentless wolves would really mean. Instead, he charged forward, making his way into the true heart of his mate’s pack, rushing forward at a breakneck pace, until he sighted her home. That was the moment he stopped moving, and quickly realized he had somehow dropped his clothes when he had moved to fight the two enemy wolves. He growled lowly, and laid himself down on the ground outside of Saffie’s house, watching over it. Dried blood coated his pelt and there were a few marks on his muzzle and body from the fight as he laid there. Pants continued to leave him as he laid his head on his paws, finding that part of him was hoping to see Saffie going about her day packing. He didn’t mind the idea of not changing back into his human form until they had returned to his pack, not even phased by the idea. While some wolves liked to change back right away, he had a connection with his wolf and honestly couldn’t care less which form he took as long as it was beneficial to the situation. 0 players like this post! Ruby was the first to notice the unfamiliar looking Werewolf outside. Standing up, she brushed specks of dirt from her intricate dress before walking outside without looking back at her family. As soon as she was outside she recognised the scent of the Werewolf to be Clayton, her sister's Mate. A relieved smile appeared on her face as she hurried over. She was so relieved he was here that at first she didn't notice his bloody and scarred state. "Oh, thank heavens you're here! I've never seen my sister cry, or heard her, or seen any signs of her spending any time crying but this morning when I woke her up her face was red and blotchy. I don't know what made her upset but I'm so glad you're here! Every time I've seen you around her she has been so happy. You have to go inside and sort it out. She won't tell me whats wrong." She told him hurriedly. It wasn't until she had gotten everything out that she realised Clayton was covered in blood, scars, and it looked like he had no clothing to change into. "Oh my! Wait right there, I'll get a pan of water and some clothes." Ruby told him before darting inside. She promptly told Saffie about Clayton being outside. The second Ruby mentioned Clayton's name, Saffie dropped the dish she had been holding to pack. "Darn it!" Saffie tutted, lightly stepping away from the mess on the floor and making Ruby do so too. She swept up the pieces onto a dustpan before emptying it out into the bin. Once that was done she put some water into a pan and set over the kitchen's fire to heat up. Whilst that was heating she stepped into her father's room quietly, noticing he was tossing and turning although still asleep, before grabbing a pair of trousers and a shirt from his box of clothes. Taking one last look at her father Saffie stepped out and headed back downstairs. She took the pan off the fire, grabbed a washcloth as well as the clothes and headed outside, leaving Ruby to finish off sorting the kitchen whilst Emmie and the boys finished up washing the clothes and began hanging them up on an airer beside the fire to get them dry quicker. The sight and state of Clayton was a lot worse then she had imagined. She had no idea what had happened, whether this was the work of his Pack or not, but it was clear he must have been the victor. Biting her lip, Saffie hurried to his side as fast as she was able with the full pan of warm water. She placed it down on the floor beside him, dipping the washcloth inside it before setting the clothes neatly down onto the floor. "It'll be easier to clean you up if you're in your human form Clayton." Saffie mentioned, the lightest of blushes creeping up on her cheeks at the very notion of Clayton being bare to the world and especially since he'd be so close to her. Perhaps her dream of him had been unrealistic. After all what did she know about romance? She tried to avoid members of her Pack as much as possible and so the only romance she knew about were from stories mostly and that wasn't the best way to gain knowledge she knew. However with nothing else to go on she could see why her subconscious would pick that situation, Clay's words, as romance. It had been sweet. It was unrealistic to expect something like that from Clay. He'd probably be affectionate, he could say sweet words, and he'd probably take care of her with shelter, food, clothing, and such. He'd probably be real gentle in the bedroom but it was highly doubtful he was going to treat her like a Sultan would his favourite concubine with silks, scents, exotic places and accented romantic nothings from his mouth. This was real life after all. "Afterwards you can take a nap on my bed. I don't know how you got back so fast but you must be exhausted." Saffie added, her gaze drifting down to her lap to give Clayton some privacy should he shift back to his human form. He was her Mate. He had said so. He had said she was his. As his Mate she had to care for him too. Not only that but her kind spirit wouldn't let her leave someone who needed to be taken care of or who needed help. Clayton clearly need to wash to get all the blood off and clean out the scars he had received. She wasn't sure if unnaturally quick healing was an ability, like his red eyes and blood healing, of his but they would have to be cleaned anyway otherwise he might get an infection. Of course normal Werewolves didn't have such an ability. Werewolves were simply the meeting of wolf and human, combined into one body with the instincts and abilities of both. There was nothing supernatural about it - no unnatural and supernatural senses, speed, strength, healing, or anything of the like. They couldn't turn into wolves, that was ridiculous, and since Werewolves were the only intelligent species in this world their bite didn't infect others. The only others in this world was animals. Just normal animals. Still, she had thought all Werewolves were the same in ability and Saffie had been wrong about that. Just what was Clayton? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Clayton watched as one of Safie’s sister, Ruby if he could remember it correctly, walked out of the house, her eyes moving over him for a long, worried moment. That was until she recognized his scent, and smiled. Her relief was evident, and she relaxed almost imperceptibly. As soon as she relaxed she was hurrying over to him and was looking down at him and speaking. Her words were quick, but as soon as he realized that his mate had been crying for some reason after he had left, his heart dropped in his chest. He swallowed and quickly kept his wolf form from having any outward showing of how he felt on the inside. Instead, he just watched Ruby as she told him that he had to go inside to make her sister happy. Did he make her happy? What about how she had walked away from him, completely confused? Had he made her cry? All of those questions rushed through his mind, making him question his ability of being a good mate to Saffie. Of course, he had lost hope years before on finding his mate, but continued to go to Regionals and to Nationals on the word of Verneer and the fact that if he didn’t go, his pack would start to look at him in pity at not having found his mate. They all knew what he was, every single one. It was something he had to explain once they joined the pack, not wanting to give them any false ideas on what he was or how he acted. They also knew of his curse, his single mate, and his search for the one female he could ever have. They also knew of his strange weakness to certain metals, like iron, silver, bronze, and a few others. Each material irritated his skin, even causing pain on contact if the substance was concentrated enough. That, and the fact that he was far more animal-like than any of the rest of them. Ruby seemed to notice all at once that he was hurt by her exclamation, which dragged him from his worried thoughts. She hurried off to go inside the house, disappearing and leaving him alone once more. He laid himself down, his head going onto his paws as he panted still, body trying to heal, but finding he didn’t have the energy to in that moment. Sure, his wounds closed twice as quickly, but it was all dependent on how he felt or if he got rest right away or not. If he didn’t, then they wouldn’t heal too well, leave scars, or just stay the way they were after he received them. After a moment, Saffie came out of the house, making his head perk up instantly. His tail thumped against the ground, and his eyes lit up in happiness. She hurried over to him as quickly as she could, making his heart lift slightly. It was nice to know she worried about him, especially since he had been worrying about her nonstop since he had left her at the house. Multiple time, though he didn’t wish to admit it, he thought about turning around and once he had been in the motion of doing so, before he reminded himself that he had to get the carriages if he wanted her to live in the same house as he was, to be by his side without him worrying anymore. His wolf let out a puff of air as she told him that it would be easier if he was in his human form to clean him off. He sat up, and stretched his muscles slightly, while continuing to watch her. At her suggestion he actually let out a whine, and his tail thumped a bit faster on the ground at the thought of being surrounded by her scent, in her bed. His head tilted as her eyes focused on the ground. It was then that he realized she wanted him to change back into his human form. So, he did just that, needing a few seconds longer than usual as his wounds stretched and shrunk and his energy was drained just a little bit more. He looked at his mate, leaning towards her and taking her face in his hand. His thumb rubbed over her cheek and he looked her in the eyes. “You don’t have to take care of me if you don’t want to,” he told her calmly. “I don’t know what was going on through your head last night when your sister said you cried, but if it was because of me, I don’t want to intrude. If you need to, you can go continue packing and I’ll just take care of myself and find somewhere to sleep out here. It wouldn’t bother me,” he added his eyes softening. Now that his wolf and he were separated mentally again, he heard the whine from his wolf ring out louder once more, knowing that there was a large possibility that it was his fault that his mate was crying while he was gone. 0 players like this post! "I told Ruby I wasn't crying. Whether I was or not doesn't matter. What does matter is that you're wounded and need treatment before an infection sinks in." Saffie replied matter of factly, her eyes flicking up from her lap to look into Clayton's piercing eyes. Without hesitation she picked up the cloth from the pan, squeezed it out, and began wiping at his tanned face to remove all the blood as well as clean the scars around his mouth and nose. The scars, once she could see them without the blood, almost made him look dangerous in a good way but she forced that thought out before it could settle. The last thing she needed was to get excited again and for her brain to go on holiday due to the sensations his touch brought. He really could make her forget everything. Once Saffie deemed his face clean she moved onto his shoulders. She put the cloth back into the bucket, swirling it around before raising it to squeeze the blood and excess water off it. She barely blinked at the pan filled with blood and water as she turned her gaze back to Clayton's shoulders. Saffie was very thorough in her cleaning effort. Once his shoulders, as far as she was concerned, clean she then moved onto his breathtaking chest. One of her biggest weakness about a man was their chest muscles - impressive pectorals and at least a six pack... Yes, she could spend a a lot of time exploring his chest. Of course that would be for another time. Saffie didn't dare let her gaze travel past his belly button. Blushing, she finished off his chest before shuffling around him on her knees to face his back, bringing the pan with her. She dipped the cloth back into the pan, lifted and squeezed it out, before starting to wash his back. She noticed as her gaze travelled from the bottom of his muscular back up to his hair that he seemed to have some blood in his hair too. She made quick work of his back before moving onto his hair. She squeezed water on his hair with one hand using the cloth and the other hand brushing it through his hair and away from his eyes until she felt his hair was clean too. Satisfied that Clayton was as healthy as she could get him for now, Saffie dumped the cloth into the pan before standing up. "There is a pair of trousers there and a shirt. They're daddy's. I think it will be a tight fit, you're a lot more muscular then daddy ever was, but its the best I can do. Once you're dressed you can come inside. I'll have my bed ready for you." Saffie told him softly before carrying the pain towards the forest line. Once close enough she held onto the cloth and pan tightly before tipping out the bloody water onto the grass. With that done Saffie headed inside the house, putting the pan in the sink to be washed up properly, put the washcloth into the clothes washing basket filled with water and soap, and then went to her bedroom to check everything was in order. She hadn't had time to pack any of her things yet but then again she had been focused on the kitchen. The bed linen was the best it was going to be in the next few minutes and so she quickly just put her book in the bedside table drawer, took one last look around her bare and tidy room, before heading back out into the kitchen. Saffie was quick to notice that Ruby had finished off sorting out and packing the kitchen stuff and was now helping Emmie and the boys hang up the rest of the washing on several airers made of long sticks and string. She couldn't help but smile fondly at them for a moment before realising she would need to get something for lunch for everyone. What on earth was she going to give them? She didn't want to give her family bread again for another meal but she knew she had very little choice. She had some ham and cheese left, along with some grapes and apple. That would have to do as a lunch time meal. Unfortunately that however reminded her of tea. She would have to go out and see what she could find for tea. With very little money left for this week Saffie knew she would most likely have to do the one thing she really didn't like - hunt for prey. Hopefully there would be a chicken or small pig around that would be easy prey. She wasn't a talented hunter or tracker and really didn't like killing anything but sometimes you had to do things you didn't like and Saffie knew she was no exception. 0 players like this post! Clayton’s eyes widened ever so slightly at her words, knowing that if her sister was sure she had cried, then it was most likely true, despite what his mate said. He still felt guilty for leaving her and the thought of her having cried while he was gone caused his wolf to have whined unhappily. His eyes moved down to her hand that held onto a cloth and watched as she brought it to his face. He kept still, watching her eyes as she worked. His eyes had a moment to look over her lovely face again, knowing that if he was in his wolf form his tail would be thumping against the ground just from her touch. She made him and his wolf extremely happily, especially when she seemed so determined to care for him. He was used to washing himself off half-heartedly, if at all, after a fight and dealing with infections later if they were to set in. Usually he would collapse into his bed and sleep for a while, worrying about cleaning off the bed sheets that grew dirty at a later time as well. Yet, she seemed to want to make sure he was okay, which made a rumble beg to move through his chest. She moved onto his shoulders, which caused his eyes to flare slightly with an automatic dose of desire. After all, she was beautiful, exceedingly beautiful, to him, so much more than anyone else ever was. He didn’t even find himself looking at any other girls, never really had. Perhaps Clayton would look at them for a long moment, but he would always brush them off when his wolf didn’t have any reaction to their company. With Saffie it was so much different and she had not a clue. Her hands moved down to his chest, and he licked his lips as she continued to clean him off, her eyes on his skin and making it heat up in a natural reaction. Even though Clay partly wanted her to, her gaze never looked lower than his belly button. A sigh left him as he watched her face flushed as she finished off his chest, a crooked smile growing on his chest. She didn’t seem to notice the way his muscles tightened under her touch automatically, and his own want increased. Then, she moved on her knees to get his back. A rumble left him as she moved her hand in his hair, enjoying the feeling of her fingers in his hair. It was the same sort of reaction his wolf had if she ever moved to touch his fur. He leaned into the touch slightly, finding that he rather like being taken care of by his mate. Then, she was standing and instructing him about the clothes she had gotten him. His eyes were slightly hooded in a sensual and calm way. “Mmm, can’t wait,” he said in a seductive tone, though he doubted she noticed as she walked away. His eyes watched the sway of her hips, finding that he could stare at her all day and still be as infatuated, if not more so, with her. As soon as she disappeared inside her home, he looked over at the clothes she had set down for him. They wouldn’t fit him too well, but he would be able to deal with it. He grabbed the shirt first, forcing his arms through, and leaving it hanging open without touching the buttons in the least. It would have stretched the fabric too far and made it so that there was a possibility of it ripping or the buttons breaking cleanly off. Clay tugged on the pants, finding that he couldn’t very well button those either due to his muscles and broader form. A chuckle left him as he looked exactly as he supposed romance novels portrayed men. Except, it wasn’t as comfortable as those novels made it seem. Rather the pants were far too tight and made him internally sigh at the fact that he had to wear them in the first place. However, it was what his mate wanted, so he was willing to deal with it, just to make her happy. He wanted to see her smiling face again, needed to see it again. It was an ache that started in his chest and traveled even to his wolf so that the creature whined, as he was quite upset, in his head. Clayton walked to the front door, opening it quietly and carefully, and finding that her scent assaulted him, making any other smell utterly inadequate. Another rumble started in his chest as he thought about finding her in the house so that she could show him to her bedroom. Yet, he knew very well how to find it. Her smell would encase the entire room. Just the thought made the rumble in his chest grow even louder. He sniffed the air, and listened to any sounds of the house. He could hear breathing, finding that he was instinctively traveling towards it. Clayton stopped when he noticed Saffie in the room, her face so focused on thinking about something. A slow smile grew on his face as he waited for her to notice him. In that moment, he took the time to look at his mate, just look at her with his eyes still having an alluring glint to them. Yet, he forced himself not to think of her in a lustful way, knowing she probably wouldn’t take that very well. Instead, he just enjoyed soaking in her image that was already burned into his mind, just like her scent and everything else about her. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Feeling eyes on her, Saffie snapped out of her thoughts and turned around. She was slightly surprised to see Clayton there and he seemed absorbed in just looking at her. She couldn't help but frown a bit as she looked down at herself, wondering what he found so alluring - for lack of a better word - about herself. She couldn't really see anything that could be so beautiful that a man as god-like as Clayton was to settle for her. She had good skin, nice hair, really pretty eyes, child-bearing hips along with a very generous sized bottom that actually gave her some womanly curves (rather then the excess weight ones she tried to hide) and quite long legs as well as a pretty face that could be labelled as an 'english rose' type face. However she was pretty sure none of that was enough to keep his interest. Maybe one day she'd ask him when she could summon up the courage to not only say it but hear the answer too. "Right, well I better show you to bed." She spoke up trying to prevent her gaze from feasting on the sight he presented. His beautiful chest was revealed, his muscular arms straining inside the shirt sleeves, and his legs stretched the trousers so much it was probably inches away from ripping apart. Not only that but it seemed the button couldn't be done up. He was the most attractive thing she had ever seen. Forcing herself not to bite her lip Saffie walked over to Clayton and held out her hand for him to take so she could lead him towards her bedroom. Once she was sure Clayton had taken her hand Saffie walked over to her bedroom. Once inside she closed her door to afford them some privacy. Despite having checked it before she left her room she gave it a quick look over before turning back to Clayton. "Well this is my bedroom. Hopefully my bed is comfy enough for you. Sleep as long as you like. Incase you sleep a very long time I'll wake you for tea. Apart from that just make yourself at home." For some reason she gave his hand a quick squeeze before leaving the room. Saffie shut the door once she was outside of her bedroom before heading to the living room area to begin sorting out what they would take and what they would leave. Emmie, Ruby and the boys had already finished the washing so they had gone upstairs to make sure everything was packed properly as needed along with one fresh outfit to wear tomorrow for their journey. (OOC: Sorry its so short. I couldn't think of what else to write. I'm going to head to bed now but I'll reply again in the morning.) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Saffie turned to him and he smiled widely at her, still absorbed in staring at her, looking at her. The frown on her face made his wolf tilt his head to its side in Clayton’s mind, but he didn’t make any comment about the frown. She looked down at herself, making him wonder if she was looking for something wrong with her outfit. It was only when she continued to just look at herself, not something specific that he realized it had to do with the fact that no guy had gone after her before. Perhaps she thought she didn’t look good. Yet, to him, she was beautiful and utterly perfect. She was everything he wanted for a mate and knew he would have no one else, because they would never be good enough. Yet, his wolf still didn’t like the fact that she was so insecure in herself. In time, perhaps he would change that for her. He wanted to make it so that she understood that she was amazing and that there was nothing wrong with her. She would have to learn a bit more about being an alpha female from someone, which made him realize he had to find someone to help her. He made a slight note in his mind about that. Saffie would need someone strong and sure of herself, someone who could show his mate that she was an alpha female too and she was born to be one. At her words he physically stiffened, swallowing at the way that her words sounded to him. He quickly shook it off as she moved forward, her eyes trying to stay off him the entire time. Does she not like the way I look? Perhaps she thinks it strange that I am wearing her father’s clothes, he thought. Then, she held out her hand for him. He gladly took it, enjoying the connection to her, especially since he had been away from her for what seemed like too long to his wolf. They got to her bedroom and she closed the door after herself. She didn’t know how she was just making the room all the more sensual to him. Part of him want to touch her more, but he kept himself at bay. His mate’s scent surrounded him, making his wolf whine eagerly in his mind, wanting her terribly. Clayton grasped his control with both hands and watched her as she met his eyes after seemingly looking around her room. His eyes were all on her, and he nodded his head. “Of course it will be comfortable enough for me,” he stated easily, knowing that her scent would surround him. It would be enough to drive him crazy, but at the same time make it so that he was able to go to sleep due to her scent surrounding him, as he wanted it to everyday for the rest of his life. Saffie squeezed his hand, making him smile widely as she left the room. The door closed behind her and he let out a breath, knowing that control would be a hard thing to keep, but he was willing if he was able to get sweet moments like that again. Clay turned and moved over to her bed, finding his fingers trailing over the sheets lightly, his wolf letting out another whine. He sat down on it and slowly lowered himself so that he was laying on it and staring up at the ceiling. Slowly, peace fell over him and he fall into a deep sleep, able to slip off without any issues for once in his life. All he had to do was to close his eyes and he was lost, his body giving into his own exhaustion. 0 players like this post! Like? |
