Possibly. Although, if it did affect stats, I think a lesser agility or stamina would be in order. I imagine all those muscles would severely weigh them down.

Ehh. Cheetahs usually refrain from attacking lions irl because of their large mass. I don't think I can believe that they would attack and kill one with an even greater amount of muscle mass.

That being said, I think they could be especially vulnerable to certain prey animals. A kudu or wildebeest is fast enough to out maneuver one and has the horns to do some serious damage.

Personally, I don't like the idea because "hunky" animals like the photos you provided are bred that way for meat, showing, and sadly in some cases fighting, for human benefit. It mostly comes from artificial selection. You really don't see it occur in the wild since there's no farmer or breeder to put the already-hella-buff pairs together. It's intentional. (Although I guess that's not the best argument when we've got a handful of more obscure mutations already, hahaha.)
Besides all that -- I'd just never want a bulky lion in my pride. I'd find it kind of disturbing for the whole "artificial" bit; I'd be thinking of the overly-muscled Quarter Horses I've seen out for studding. They just don't move right. :')

I know. I don't support the breeding of these mutations at all in any real life case. That being said, the mutation does occasionally occur out of random in the wild, and even in some humans. It is a somewhat rare sight however.

Yeah they definitely would not move all that smoothly. Which is one of the reasons stat deductions have also been suggested.

I think the slightly sad twinge is what gets some people. I find the lethal mutes to be vastly disturbing in some ways, and yet still I pine after them xD

they’re not. Greyhounds / whippets are actually one of the breeds more likely to have this mutation, along with pit breeds. It’s a product of selective breeding by breeders. Though it occasionally happens at random.
