The red king snarled at the lion's cockiness and question. "Every ruler here would obviously try to make the intruder bend the paw somehow, but I just give any intruder a gnarly scar, to make sure they remember me! Hahaha!"

"Have you ever eaten a cub before? I have." He stared at Abhoth, knowing she'll reply with a gruesome answer.

“Uh-welll.... yes, I did.. Because I was really hungry and I really liked the vessel I had at the time! Also the vessel was a hyena at the time and I hadn’t been a lion yet.!” He growled defensively, icy knives rising in the air next to him.

“Would you kill or refuse the aid of a powerful ice spirit that came to help you and your pride in the middle of a horrible drought?”

The adolescent king barely even had to think before he answered, "My pride goes back for four rulers. We are not related in blood, but the previous queen before me was like a mother to me. I learned much of what I know now from her."

The short feline swiveled his head to stare at the ruler beside him. "So, let's try a hypothetical question. If there was a terrible fire in your territory, and all but two of your lions escaped, whom would you save; A cub whose leg has a permanent birth defect that affects its ability to walk and hunt, or an elderly lion who is otherwise in perfect health other than their increasing age?"

Abhoth met the red king's question and stare with an approving nod, though it seemed that there may very well have been at least a few others gathered that understood what fine dining was supposed to be like. She could only hope that they knew how to properly prepare, tenderize and serve some of the finest meat known to all of lionkind, as well. When the child-king turned his attention to her, she clicked her forked tongue against the roof of her mouth. "It is a decent hypothetical scenario... however, I would save neither of them. I'd simply kill them both, as they would both be liabilities. The elder's carcass, I'd toss into the fire. The cub's, I'd carry with me until I'd reached a safe enough place to butcher and eat."

She turned to face the monarch sitting as far away from her as possible, purring her own hypothetical situation: "A strange event has occurred, nothing like you've ever seen before. A star has fallen in your territory and it is beautiful. It shimmers with colors you have never seen before and have no way of naming. Your subordinate and most trusted lionesses are fascinated by it and you can't keep your cubs from trying to lick it. You do not immediately know if it's dangerous or not, so what do you do with it?"

Venus' eyes widened, fascinated by the question she didn't expect. "What a strange scenario... I would order the weakest lionesses to keep the cubs at a safe distance, and have the strongest ones inspect it with me. I would have the priestess of our pride inspect it as well, and have our shaman ready to heal wounds if needed. I... I would not be the first to touch it. The pride cannot risk the sudden death of their queen when they have no trained heir. But I would be the second to touch it for sure. We'd figure out something to do with it once we examined its physical properties, and whatever information our priestess can gather."

The queen hummed in thought, wishing she could come up with a scenario as creative. Finally, she landed on, "Your whole pride suffers a great illness, and most of them die. The only survivors are yourself, and your weakest lioness. How do you proceed? How do you rebuild?"

The short king huffed, licking a paw and drawing it over his ears. He thought for a few moments, never really considering any kind of scenarios like this happening. He had almost no idea how to answer the question but came up with one after about ten minutes of thought. "Hmm, well, for starters I would try to breed with her to produce more cubs. I'd also search for any lionesses in my territory that don't belong to a pride, and try to get them to join, whether it be with bribes, promises, or threats. And then it's simply a matter of assigning roles and breeding with more lionesses to produce more cubs."

The adolescent king turned his head to the monarch nearest to him, humming for a moment before parting his muzzle to speak, "Let's do another hypothetical scenario. Let's say that you are getting older, and it is time that you started to consider an heir. Would you choose an adolescent male that seems bloodthirsty and aggressive, but loyal and protective of the pride, or an adolescent male who is disinterested in the goings-on of the pride, but shows great leadership skills and whom follows orders without question?"

"I'd pick whichever my soul was drawn to after my body died! My soul transfers from host to host, see, and I just completely take over the next body as my soul transforms it!" He grinned, white floof flying into his face.

"Anotehr hypothetical: There are a pair of lioness for sale. One, has desireable rosette markings and the Tigon mutation, but is far out of your budget. The second is a mane mutation, with high stats and a price well within your budget.. Who do you pick?"

"Well, realistically I'd choose neither." Venus grumbled, "I'd save up and wait until the 'desirable' tigon was easily within my budget, rather than throwing away my clan's supplies in such a hope to get it."

Asharri yawned, licking his claws. "Well, i'd have to say the ones I don't have to eat. I find Lion Scrotums... deeply disturbing." He shuddered, tapping his chin. "I'd say a GMO cow. There's a good chance for a Tigon of Leopon, and I tasted one once. Mmm. Yummy." He yawned.

Venus blushed in surprise, her body cringing back as she answered, "Er, no? Only the queen or king is allowed to breed in our pride. The queen is gifted by ability by the gods to allow cubs to be born despite a female ruling." She waved her tail, "And our only... 'submale' as you call them... would be Reshef. But he is, well, literally a deity, and I have no interest, nor does he. He'll probably be retiring his mortal form to return to the other deities after the next plague anyways." She spoke vaguely.

"Does your pride worship any gods?"

"No." The red king said bluntly. "I believe that only weakling worship 'deities' as you call them. Only people with abilities are called deities, right? Well then, im the deity of brutality then!" Sunburn chuckled, and turned to the next ruler.

"How would you feel if a meteor came down and destroyed all of this world right now?"

Brown Sugar's face contorted as he thought of the grim end coming to all lionkind. "I would be devastated." He said. The large brown lion loved all of his pride. "But let's hope that will never happen, and at least we'd be with our old pride mates." He chuckled awkwardly, then turned to the lion sitting next to him. "Do you and your pride believe in any afterlife? Where do you think we go, if anywhere?"
