Humanity is always been full of curiosity, and always shall be. Trying to gene-splice was definitely on the list, and this led them to create labs in remote areas to experiment on creatures, primarily those in the feline family.

But after a seeming disastrous gene-splicing mishap and an explosion soon after, some of the tested creatures in the lab had escaped. Searches were sent to look for these creatures, to capture or kill them. Some indeed were found, but others remained missing. Chalked off as deceased, they were forgotten, and the labs were shut down to prevent further mishap.

And yes, those creatures did die- but not before they had bred with other animals.

Many years after the accident, reports of feathered felid sightings had popped up throughout the region, especially near wooded areas. Curious people went to go look for these odd animals, and soon enough, a few were found and brought in. They were found to be calm and sociable, and quickly became popular pets. These creatures were called "Petlusas," for their fuzz and often grayscale coats.

However, when the breeders came in, they found some odd things. The kits of a pair of Petlusas did not necessarily have the traits of the parents. Sometimes, other animal traits, like scales or antlers or spikes, appeared in a young Petlusa whose parents were of the typical variety. It was a queer thing, and not very common, but it certainly piqued interest...

What are Petlusas?
Petlusas are semi-felid adoptables made by me.
With time and effort, I would be able to make many, many kinds of variations.

What combinations/unique Petlusas are there?
Combinations are formed from certain components, and this is the current count:

None, Normal, Thick (3)

None, Short Fluff, Medium Fluff (3)

No Mutation, Antlered (2)

I'll leave it up to you to find how many variations may exist!
