Rosepetal got back up and headed out, going to a stream.
She wished she could turn back the time and wait until she had kits at least.
She murmured something to herself laying down.
She wished Starclan would tell her what she could do!

Rippleheart got up from his nest, and sleepily gazed around the den. "I guess I didn't get called for patrols this morning..." he thought to himself. He lazily stretched his paws in front of him and stood to his feet. As he exited the den he noticed two cats speaking together before one stood up and left. He decided to go and see what was wrong with the she cat. Upon reaching her he realized that it was Rosepetal and he waved his tail in hello. "Good day Rosepetal. How's prey running this morning?"

"I don't really know" She murmured.
"I caught a trout, I guess it was running good?" Rosepetal mewed.
Her belly seemed to have gotten slightly rounder already, making her fur part around it.
She waved her dark ginger tail sitting down.

"Well, that good" Rippleheart purred. "So hows life?" Rippleheart realized how stupid the questions was as soon as it had escaped his lips. "Oh....Um...no...sorry...um" Rippleheart searched for the right words to say to her but could not find any at the time.

"Its.. Ok" She meowed twitching her tail gently.
Her frosted eyes seemed distracted.
Perhaps she should sleep soon.
Or maybe go back to hunt..

"I can keep you company if you want" Rippleheart looked down at his paws, wanting to make up for his mistake. "I know that when my sister died I wanted to stay by myself but company helped." Rippleheart looked at Rosepetals glazed eyes. "I know that you have not lost Lionpaw, but the feelings are just the same." Rippleheart rested his tail on Rosepetals shoulders in silent comfort. "Come on, let's see if we can catch anything bigger than that trout you caught earlier."

She nodded letting off a small sigh.
She wished she could fix it though!
Getting up, she headed out of camp.
Waving her tail for the tom to follow.
She was glad he was keeping her company.
No one else had been around her since Lionpaw much.
She tried to pick up more scents to hunt.
Maybe a squirrel for lionpaw.
If she knew his favorite prey she'd get it for him.
She wished she was closer to her son.

Rippleheart padded along with Rosepetal.He kept his mouth open slightly to draw in any scent of prey. Even though Riverclan cats usually did not hunt forest prey, it was a treat to get some every so often. Suddenly Rippleheart caught the scent of a squirrel in a nearby willow tree. He signaled to Rosepetal with his tail, awaiting her plans in order to catch the squirrel.

Rosepetal lowered herself, keeping herself steady.
She crept around the tree, after washing her scent out with the grass.
She waited for the squirrel to get a little closer down, her fur being covered in grass so her dark ginger patches and snow-white fur wouldn't stick out.
When it had gotten lower, she batted it down, pouncing on top of it to kill it.

"Great catch!" Rippleheart exclaimed. "I bet the elders will be really pleased to see that squirrel! I know that Willowmoon loves forest prey." Rippleheart looked up into the tree where the squirrel had been. "I can still smell squirrel up there. I think it had a nest." Rippleheart looked over his shoulder, amusement lighting his gaze. "Dare me to go up there?"

Rosepetal shook her head.
"If I fall, it could be a danger to my unborn kits" She mewed watching the tom.
Rosepetal looked up the tree. "Lets get something else, we can't risk getting hurt"
She covered her catch and went to wash off, going to get fish.

"Aw, you're no fun" Rippleheart smiled at the she-cat. "Alright, let's go and get some fish." Rippleheart followed her down to the bank, where she stopped to wash herself off. Not wanting to wait, he backed up a little and launched himself into the river. The coolness of the water shocked him, but he quickly grew used to it. He dove under the surface and through the blurriness saw a school of bluegill hanging around the bottom of the shallows a little way downstream. He quickly resurfaced. "Hey, there is a pretty decently sized group of bluegill down there if you want to catch some." Not waiting for a response he dove back under and swam for the group of small fish. Feeling as though he was a fish himself, he surged forward and grabbed one of the wriggling fish in his jaws. Lungs screaming for air he broke the surface again. "Wow those fish are just letting me grab them!" He stated as he threw his kill onto the bank. He then went down again for another.

Rosepetal dove down to get a big catfish she saw.
She swam gently so she didn't disturb it, and pulled it out of the water with a big struggle.
Panting, she sat down to let her fur dry.
If she could barely get a catfish, maybe she should move to the nursery soon.
Sighing she murmured something, drying her fur faster with her tongue.

NightStar padded back into her territory, chuckling. She noticed two cats fishing. "Hello RosePetal, RippleHeart!" She purred happily. She smiled at RosePetal, a sparkle in her eye. "RosePetal, I'd like to ask you something." She purred.
