Bored, and hungry. Two things that rarely spell anything good when it comes to a kit. The camp was quiet near the nursery, the lack of prey making everyone seem a bit more subdued. Even if they had the fish, it was still a bit harder on every cat. To Adderkit however, that just meant less time being supervised. Truthfully, being as he was almost an apprentice the tom was able to get away with more than his younger counter parts, and he took advantage of that fact at every possible moment. the tabby tom slunk around the nursery, for once keeping his steps quiet, and his mouth shut. There had been a small hole in the surrounding camp wall that he had noticed a few days ago, and for the first time Adderkit found himself able to test his theory- that it would let him out into the territory.

A quick glance around, and that was it. Broad shoulders struggled to fit through the snagging brambles, jaws clamped shut in order to resist the mewls of pain the pricks caused him. It would be worth it in the end. Finally, with a last kick he was free, and Adderkit rose to dusty paws, looking in awe at the world around him.
"Right." His mew quavered only slightly as he set his jaw, looking determined. If the camp needed more prey, he Adderkit was going to be the one to get it for them. That, and the tom didn't care much for the water creatures that were sustaining their clan, and he longed for the taste of vole or squirrel again. So, with a raised tail and a confident step, he was off.

With his sense on such high alert, the sound of paws behind him caused the tom to tense moments before he felt a paw flop onto his back and a yowl in his hears. Flinching more at the noise than anything, Adderkit twisted with a quiet hiss, looking annoyed.
"Moonkit! Do you want to bring the whole camp this way?" He growled, fur fluffed and giving the tom a larger appearance, enhanced by his already stocky build. He was about to continue his tirade, when another voice joined the party. Wolfkit appeared, smaller frame quivering. Adderkit rolled his eyes, looking at the two other kits. What had started out as a journey to prove himself worthy of apprentice-hood was turning into more than the tom bargained for.
"Look, you two. I'm on a super important mission. " He puffed out his chest proudly. "I'm going to get some prey for the clan. You guys can help if you want, but..." His green eyes glared fixedly on each in turn.
"If you get me caught I'll claw your ears." Small claws dug into the earth to enhance the threat. Honestly, Adderkit didn't know if he could bring himself to do such a thing to his den mates, but the threat was worth their silence in the matter.
