A lot of people have invested a lot of currency in the scrying stone to see if we were right about combos, and here is the result :D But wait... What are combo bases?When you breed two lions with the right combination of bases, their cubs roll a further, extra chance that can result in a third, new base, a "combo" base. Each combo base has its own requirements, and these bases often ignore the set genetic rules: for example, the Cairngorm combo base (Black Light Solid Special genetics) can be obtained by breeding a Celestial lion (Black Dark Countershaded Special genetics) and a Cocoa lioness (Black Medium Countershaded Rare genetics). Most combo bases can be passed down as long as one parent has it and further requirements are met if there are any, with the exception of Pulsar and Temporal. *Since the 12th October update, cubs that have triggered the original combo bases - Cairngorm, Citrine, Madagascar or Qahir - have a 50% chance of getting their respective mane color, and these can be inherited like any other mane color! Right now there are two different types of combo bases: "standard" combos and "factor" combos. Factor ones can be obtined by breeding any of the bases that make up the combo, but standard ones can be obtained by more than one combination of bases that are assembled into two different groups. The combo can trigger as long as the parents have bases that belong to a different combo group (not to be mistaken by the genetic color group). *Note: While some of the following standard combo tables have been completed, there may be some combinations that remain undiscovered yet. It'd made sense for it to be there, it's an applicable base and we're missing some for Hellebore! I just tried sunflower and fuchsia 50+ With nothing Damn. That would have been a great way for them to make the bases. I’m still gonna try a few......I’m really hoping it’s nkt just lilac and goldenrod, imma be pissed lol 0 players like this post! Like? |

Great detective work, dude. I'm thinking we might need to exceed 200+ tries on these; I was scrying earlier to try and get a scry for Soft Rosette from a CONFIRMED pairing - I tried 200 times and it still didn't show up. Sure, it is a rare mark; but I'd have thought the odds might have been higher in terms of scrying results. I approached Katze to see if there is an issue with scrying, and she said nope - all should be well and that it all comes down to luck. Chances are, we could just be getting unlucky streaks. So with this new theory, I'll probably try and push for 200+ personally. It's a good theory, and it makes sense. If two fail at 200+ I think we can possibly assume that isn't the combination set up, right? And if we strike winners, then we know Shamrock cracked it :D! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Those were my thoughts, more or less. Lilac is a medium solid base, then sunflower is a medium countershaded. This means that, in theory, such a pairing could have have anything from dark to light and solid to countershaded from both Golden and Black groups, and that's a lot of possibilities. The same may happen with Goldenrod to a lesser extent with it being medium - especially Orchid which is solid. 0 players like this post! Like? |
