Wiki entry about Combo Bases

This began as a way to share theories about possible combinations, but then things got way bigger than expected. A lot of people have invested a lot of currency in the scrying stone to see if we were right about combos, and here is the result :D

But wait... What are combo bases?

When you breed two lions with the right combination of bases, their cubs roll a further, extra chance that can result in a third, new base, a "combo" base. Each combo base has its own requirements, and these bases often ignore the set genetic rules: for example, the Cairngorm combo base (Black Light Solid Special genetics) can be obtained by breeding a Celestial lion (Black Dark Countershaded Special genetics) and a Cocoa lioness (Black Medium Countershaded Rare genetics). Most combo bases can be passed down as long as one parent has it and further requirements are met if there are any, with the exception of Pulsar and Temporal.

*Since the 12th October update, cubs that have triggered the original combo bases - Cairngorm, Citrine, Madagascar or Qahir - have a 50% chance of getting their respective mane color, and these can be inherited like any other mane color!

Right now there are two different types of combo bases: "standard" combos and "factor" combos. Factor ones can be obtined by breeding any of the bases that make up the combo, but standard ones can be obtained by more than one combination of bases that are assembled into two different groups. The combo can trigger as long as the parents have bases that belong to a different combo group (not to be mistaken by the genetic color group).

*Note: While some of the following standard combo tables have been completed, there may be some combinations that remain undiscovered yet.

not sure, i'd test it but the excessive amounts of fails have been... discouraging. someone made a running list of everything being tested a couple pages back though

edit: here's the list, and I don't see udara on it surprisingly? maybe bc they were looking for flowers not plants in general? dunno. sunflower i did see though, on another test someone did, popped out everything but hellebore seems xD

Yeah I tried sunflower x lilac with no success but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen, just didn’t for me. I was really bummed that the plant thing didn’t pan out but I never looked up Udara. I was just focused on flowers for my theory but there are other plant-named bases that I didnt try: cedar, anjeer, cocoa, chestnut, almond, birch, pecan, hazelnut, vanilla, olive, persimmon, apricot, saffron, Asali, prune, lemon, maybe citrine, redwood, ginger, and I’m not sure but mahogany could count as well.......I know there’s a few more I forgot but still lots more options if it really is all plant related

Counter x counter doesn’t always give counter. I don’t think it’s a bug.

Well I’m pretty sure that’s most of them, I have time to make a full list tonight. And I’ve already looked into most of the bases I wasn’t sure about so it should be easy.

I asked anyways just to be sure, since the wiki states that breeding counter x counter should always give a counter.

But this is a special combo base we are talking about. So the normal rules probably dont apply. It is just a bit disheartening to find out an Olive x Olive pair won't have another Olive baby.

WHELP
Turns out I need a better check yourself o meter. Cause Olive is a Cream Dark Solid. The wiki has been lying to me. OTL
Will go back to the scrying stone to check to see if olive x olive makes olive. Maybe i got unlucky.

Well hellebore is countershaded while lilac and goldenrod are both solids so that shows that normal rules don’t apply. It’d be nice to know that ahead of time lol

Well making a new combo base has always been a bit rule breaking. But in the event of a Hellebore x Hellebore it being solid shouldn't in theory throw out random countershades.

i think the genetics of the contributing bases dont really matter, it's more the looks of the contributing bases, but otherwise they should provide the proper genetics :/

Yea, thats why I tried Udara. It looked kinda like Goldenrod to me. XD So I figured mixing it with Lilac would create a Hellebore.

Update on my fail Olive scrying. After about 75 more tries, OlivexOlive does infact create an Olive. So all my complaining was for nothing xD

Yes, Combo X Combo(same) can make itself. It was fixed a while back.
