Hello all,
I've been thinking a lot about hunting and patrolling lately, and I've come up with of a few suggestions...

Hunting:
Multiple groups of lionesses should be able to hunt at the same time. The 5 limit maximum for a group could remain, but it doesn't make as much sense to say only one group can go at a time. You should be able to send out multiple groups, but maybe areas where lionesses are already hunting could be locked until that group returns (you couldn't have two hunts in the same tiles at the same time). This would make it easier for larger (and even some smaller prides) to feed themselves. It would also help out players who have to be gone all day and such-- they could guarantee more food when they come back and not have to worry so much if they have a big pride and can't pop in for most of the day. Since the 10 hunts limit is per lioness and not global, it would just make more sense imo if lionesses could hunt in different areas at the same time.
It would also help out with adol training, but I don't feel it would make training too easy either because each adol would still have to fulfill the training quota. It would just allow more adols to be trained simultaneously. If difficulty was still a concern, maybe the limit could be lowered to one adol per group.
If there was concern in overhunting due to so many lionesses hunting at once, maybe the chance of finding food in a given tile could drop with every hunt that runs there (tile could appear progressively more greyed out as prey becomes scarcer?). There are plenty of tiles on the board-- but this would keep players from overhunting areas like villages, etc. because of the higher limit or by sending an absolutely excessive number of hunts out. (perhaps there could be an option to pay a large sum to reset the map, in case anyone has a freakishly massive pride)
Maybe hunt slots could be unlockable as well, to keep players from over-using them. Hunting as it is now, where you send one party at a time, would be free and unlocked by default, but for an extra 500 sb or something you could unlock a slot to send an extra party (think lioness/submale slots, but for hunting parties), and then 1000sb, 1500sb, and then gb or something like that for each extra party slot after that.

I think this would be a helpful system that shouldn't mess up the markets, and that could even send more revenue back to Lioden itself. If you agree, please support! And of course, constructive criticism is always welcome!

NOTE: If you guys are gonna "no support", feedback would be helpful :)

This would be useful for players who want to level up their lionesses. Maybe this could work as an unlockable feature in the Oasis like the cub poses or auto-leveling feature?

I think maybe the whole sending more than one hunting parties at a time could unlock at a certain amount of pride members or something as well, to prevent it from being exploited I support this 100%

Although sending out males every 15 minutes would be great, i don't see any other reason to change male patrols at the present time, its already pretty powerful for the male you grind it with. Only downside to allowing up to 4 males that i can see is people stat grinding a ton of heirs at once with little penalty. The present rule lets you grind 1 heir, and one only, per account, meaning you can only have one good lion to king at a time (stat grinding your heirs heir is presently impossible without hurting your heir).

However i disagree with sending out multiple/infinite lioness parties at once I've never had problems feeding my large pride even when i only do a couple hunts a day, and additionally allowing all females to go at once could make for some pretty unfair advantage to those who have less lions and cant swoop a hundred prey every half an hour. additionally you could see where that could also be a problem. sending 5 lionesses every half hour is a reasonable demand for new players, and also doesn't flood senior players with food to sb hoard. even those who dont have 5 lions could send out one or 2 and still get plenty of prey.

Revised this to be hunting overhaul only because I feel like that's a more specific suggestion and the patrolling overhaul ideas were a little more iffy, but I'm also revamping this because I feel like it's still applicable :P

This would massively damage the food market unless it was more expensive to send more lionesses than it would be to buy food, and at that point not many people would use it because burning money.

It might drop prices in the public market but honestly I don't think it'd cause too much damage because you still can sell to Monkey Business, and if you're getting more food to begin with then it'd still probably make up the difference, imo. It'd change the dynamic of the market, yes, but I imagine there still would be some player-to-player food market, however the rest would become player-to-Lioden... that's a good point though. Do you have any suggestions on how to prevent it from devaluing food?

The first thing I can think of is lowering the odds of having successful hunts, or making large carcasses rarer, which would be the easiest-to-implement solution to keep the food market healthy, but it would make sending more lionesses something everyone needs to do to be able to bring in the same amount of food they do now, which definitely wasn't the goal of the suggestion. The point is supposed to be to be able to bring in more food, so it's not a real solution. I was stuck at this point for a bit, but then I thought-

Alternatively, sending more hunters at a time could be progressively riskier, so people can do it if they need to, but it's not something everyone would do every day. Say the first 5 are safe, the second 5 are at risk of losing a day of life, and so on. This version sort of kills the usage for people looking to use it to boost stats, though. It'd be easy enough to take advantage of by just not sending valuable girls, I guess? The market would probably still take a hit, but player trading would definitely remain a thing because some people don't keep any girls they'd be alright with losing life.

I'm sure there's more avenues to prevent the feature from flooding the market while still making it useful to people that can't always bring back enough food as things currently are, but I'm having difficulty thinking of anything else at the moment. There has to be something, though.

Hmmm, those are good ideas, but like you said they do have drawbacks...
Why would a market flood be bad in the first place? It would cause a price drop for those trying to sell food on the market, but the market prices shouldn't be going below those in MB anyway, and if you're bringing in more carcasses to begin with you could probably still make a comparable amount selling them off (MB is underpriced compared to markets last time I looked).
If anything, I feel like Lioden itself could benefit from something like this-- since it would encourage people to have larger prides, therefore having them spend GB to expand. And GB means purchases that go to support Lioden itself.

Right, but you have to keep the game from being too much in favor of people that can spend real money. As it is, selling food is the most reliable way someone can get GB as a non-spending player. A market flood jars that. If there's always too much food, there's always people selling to the monkey. If everyone does that, a ton of SB floods the system. If SB floods the system, people don't value it as much and it costs more and more SB to buy GB from people. And that would be a major problem in the long run.

But besides that, I feel like it would make more sense to remove feeding completely than to implement something that makes it always a non-issue. Why require players to obtain food if they're going to have gameplay trivialize it? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Hmm, I see. Yeah, I can definitely understand those points-- I still feel like it would balance out in the end, but yeah...
Yeah, that's true... I can see why feeding is in the game but it can honestly get frustrating sometimes. Maybe a better answer would be to make food decay less? It feels like everyone in my pride is always SUPER hungry :P

Great Idea! Maybe Limit the Number of Hunters we are allowed to have in our pride depending on territory size, like 5 Hunters for 20 Territory Spaces, 10 Hunters for 40 and so On! Like we did with Broodmothers

That's a great idea Noxis! There should definitely be some limitation, be it inherent (like Broodmothers) or unlockable with currency, otherwise it could get OP pretty fast...

No support. This just seems like a whole way to make Lioden easier. It's already pretty simple though. Most people sell food for 5 SB a use, it's cheap. Sending multiple hunting patrols out defeats the purpose of working to "hunt for" the food, it's a smilulator. We're lucky our lions don't up and die when starving, that they give day warnings, and after that, leave, but with a sum to be able to get them back. And if there's too much food being collected, dropping the rate of food being found would just make your entire idea redundant.

Overall, it's just trying to make an already easy system easier. Adol training is a bonus thing you can do, you don't have to do it. But if you want to, and you have a side, you can train up to 4 adols at once. That seems plenty enough. If you don't have a side, again, that's your choice. And making bigger prides pay to "wipe a map", especially a large sum, is even worse. You assume bigger prides means people spend money on the game, which not everybody does. Why make a negative affect on having a big pride?

The current system is simple and effective. The amount of hunts you do a day because you are busy or not shouldn't affect everybody else. 5 SB uses of food are available, just buy that if you need it.
