Heyo everyone! c: The problem:Since lioness fertility percentage drops have been introduced, there is a continuous downward trend in prides where low-fertility lionesses are bred later in their reproductive lives and produce cubs which inherit the fertility percentage, from their mother, as it stands at the time of the breeding. For those of us who breed for mutations and handle low fertility breedings consistently, this is an undeniable boon and almost negates the need to use tackweed altogether. However, for the users who breed instead for markings, bases, or stats, I believe we are constantly battling against an across-the-board decline in fertility. It leaves us with a pride of lionesses that have inherited <=5% fertility and continue to produce cubs with that percentage or lower. This forces us to spend 100-500sb per lioness per breeding for their entire breeding lives, or purchase Black Stallions or Vuka Vuka, just to get a simple breeding done. Possible Solutions:- Separate inherited fertility (perhaps have it as a standalone stat) versus age-related fertility drops. Cubs inherit the fertility that their mothers genetically have, rather than the one affected by age-related drops. In this situation, fertility-changing items such as tackweed, chasteberry, & vuka-vuka WOULD affect the inherited level of genetic fertility. (Black stallion would not, as this does not change the fertility percentage, just removes the gamble) This would mean that mutation breeders could still breed for low fertility to help with mutation projects, but marking/base/look breeders could breed higher fertility into their lionesses to make their own projects easier. How it'd work : Lioness 'A' would have two values considered when her fertility is calculated, producing an 'active' fertility: Inherited fertility: 50% Age-related Fertility Debuff: -20% Active Fertility: 30% When chasteberries/tackweed are applied, that would be added/removed to the Inherited fertility: Inherited fertility: 50% (+20%) Age-related Fertility Debuff: -20% Active Fertility: 50% (+20%, chasteberries applied) The fertility passed on here would be 50% (give or take a bit for how the game passes). I appreciate that this is not a fully fleshed out solution, but I'd be grateful for your suggestions and opinions on making the fertility system a little fairer. I don't have a complete answer, but it'd be awesome if we could come up with one. c: |

I so support this. Almost my whole pride got down to 1-19% and i have to kill them, its worth more to breed them than they are worth (most of them anyway) 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 03/01/18 @ 18:45:48 by idkfa (#93387) |

Agree! When I first started building my actual pride I had majority high fertility lions, and now it’s going down to VLF and infertiles! 0 players like this post! Like? |

OMG yes. One of the 2 felis white girls I have for my project is an 18% fertility. She's so frustrating to get bred because I either have to find a stud for VLF or I have to use a black stallion on her. I think her mom's fertility was at like 40% or something when she was born, and somehow she got thrown into the 20ish pool of fertility. While fertilities sometimes will be higher, I've noticed much more of a trend for them to be lower. And while this could work out to a point, it just makes project breeding ridiculous. I've had to get rid of so many ladies because they were in the 5% fert level and I just couldn't get them all bred in time. I would like a balance in this somehow. Even if it means a higher chance of getting a level up in fertility. At least then muties would be even harder to get and that would boon their market right? Extra support from me. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I am supporting this so hard. I don't like to breed anything with a fert of under 20% which can make it so hard to find cubs to buy at times since the VLF label covers 0-50%. I would love for females to pass their natural fertility. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I think this deserves to be brough up again. It's a little silly to have offspring inherit the detriments the mother gained during their lifetime. You don’t see children inherit their parents pierced ears do they? 0 players like this post! Like? |

I support, but I think that maybe instead of the tackweed affecting the genetic fertility, it should decrease the debuff, (just for the sake of making it easier on the coders). If you buy more than enough to remove the debuff entirely, then it should count as a boost to the inherited! 0 players like this post! Like? |
