Warrior Apprentice/Warrior (Dryclan) Rank: Warrior (This is shorter than I hoped. Writers block :/ ) The sun blazed down on top of the group of travelling cats. The desert stone seemed to burn through Pineheart's pads, leaving them scorched and raw. Though this pain could not amount to what went on in his head during the moments he settled down for a night's rest. He had always trained to the best of his abilities, followed rules and strained himself to be a better Warrior. His dark brown mottled fur and bright amber eyes always seemed to intimidate his opponents, and so did his set of muscles underneath his lean coat. Pineheart soon learned that physical torment was nothing compared to the pain and longing of ones lost loved ones. The raging river was clear and looked crisp as it crashed into the canyon walls, almost tempting the journeying cats forward to quench their thirst. They all knew better after seeing their lost Clan mates thrashed around in the currents to their demise. "Look at it." A Warrior hissed through clenched teeth, stalking through the crowd for a better view. Pineheart's heart raced at the sight. He'd lost friends and family to that swirling monster, seen Kits call out to their mothers only to be drowned. They mustn't let themselves be next. "Survival is our only friend." The same Warrior called out to his friends. Everyone was frozen in fear as if they were reliving the nightmare. The events had robbed Pineheart of joy. Knowing what true horror is did that to one. Gasps filled the clearing as cats snapped their heads to the sight before them. Treepelt stood before them. He was spitting rage as he stalked up towards Pineheart, his lithe body shaking. "You abandoned me!" He yowled, leaping into action. He dodged his outstretched claws and whipped around fiercely, taking in his moves. Treepelt was weak and malnourished, giving Pineheart the upper hand. Pineheart skidded underneath the tom's body and yanked him downwards. Treepelt writhed underneath Pineheart's weight. Pineheart pinned the tom's head down into the dirt and whispered menacingly into his ear. "I did no such thing. I called you friend, and still do. You dishonor me by such an accusation. Get up and stop your blabbering, we have to move." He hissed before letting the smaller tom go, shaking off the dust he collected from the fight. 0 players like this post! Like? Warrior Apprentice/Warrior (Dryclan) Rank: Apprentice Exhaustion tore at her muscles like an angry fox, each step sending fingers of pain skittering up her legs. The stone beneath her paws was hot enough to burn due to the desert sun, but even that heat beating down couldn't begin to touch the cold sorrow that resided inside of her. The path she was following sloped gently upwards, taking her and her clanmates higher and higher out of the valley that had been their home for as long as she'd been alive. Lost in her thoughts, the small tortoiseshell almost walked into the warrior in front of her, not realizing the clan had come to a stop. It seemed like someone had decided it was time to rest, and she was thankful for that decision as she lowered her aching haunches to the ground. Sighing softly, she turned back to gaze at what had been her home since birth. Instead of the familiar pillars of stone and stubby shrubs, rushing water met her eyes. It looked like liquid fire due to the sun's reflection, something she found to be appropriate as the water continued to tear the clan's territory apart. Everything she'd ever known was gone, and her future was filled with looming uncertainty and danger that made her very nearly want to fling herself to the mercy of those raging waters rather than try to keep going. Only the unspoken promise she'd made to her friends and family that had perished in the flood kept her from doing so as she laid down near the others. Almost as if summoned by her thoughts, a familiar voice cut through the air. "Shatterpaw!" A harsh sigh escaped her at the sound as she curled up tighter and squeezed her eyes shut, fervently wishing for the whispers of her memories to leave her in peace at least for a little while. However the anger that laced that voice as it continued to call for her made her open her eyes and lift her head. The sight that greeted her was like a balm on her bleeding emotions and she leaped to her paws with a joyous cry. "Treepelt! I'm so happy to see you, I thought I'd never-" The excited chattering faded into confused silence as she noted the fury written all over the tom's features and she pulled up short. "Treepelt?" Her old friend finally reached her, glaring at her with undisguised hatred in his eyes. Before she could question him again, the tabby had suddenly launched himself at her. Shock flooded her as his claws bit into her when he hit, sending them both tumbling into the dust. "You abandoned me! Left me to die back there!" That shock turned to anger at the accusations, anger that she didn't hesitate to spit in his direction. "Abandoned you?! I did everything I could to get to you once the water took you! I almost drowned because I was trying to get to you! How dare you?!" Fueled by the hurt and rage his words had provoked, the apprentice aimed several swipes at the tom before both cats had run out of energy. Both carried several scratches and bites as they finally split apart to glare at one another. A few moments passed before Treepelt suddenly started chuckling, a small sound that grew into a full blown laugh that only served to anger her further. "What's so funny mousebrain?!" The young warrior struggled unsuccessfully to stop himself from laughing as he padded closer to her and plopped his rear against the stone in a clumsy sit. "Your lip. It's-" Laughter overtook him again before he finally managed to control himself long enough to finish. "Your lip is stuck to your tooth!" 0 players like this post! Like? |

DrCl Apprentice/ Warrior Application. Wishing for Apprentice. Prompt : Warrior Apprentice/Warrior (Dryclan) The Dryclan group has reached a section of the desert in which you have a perfect view of your old home. The canyon in which you once lived is now a raging river. After minutes of mourning silence, a very familiar voice fills your ear, speaking your name. Your heart leaping into your throat, you turn quickly to see Treepelt, your long-time best friend. Excitement fills you for a moment, as you thought him dead, but your face falls as you notice his enraged expression. He leaps toward you, claws outstretched. "You abandoned me!," he yowls, attacking you fiercely. What is your response? Wrenpaw watched the raging canyon with solemn eyes, remembering all her clanmates that she had lost that night. She almost didn't believe that it happened even as the gray she-cat watched the waves push out debris and sand out of the canyon. The heat of the desert around her made it harder to breathe still as she tried to keep herself calm, trying to remind herself that she was safe up here even if her group was a bit aways from her spot. Suddenly she froze, her ears tilting towards a faint, but familiar voice. It couldn't be... She watched him drown as the flood hit. With wide amber eyes she turned around quickly, sand spraying from the harsh ground around her. A brown tabby figure ran towards her in the distance, Treepelt! Rare sudden joy nipped at her white paws to run and as she frequently did, the gray cat obeyed and ran towards her lost friend. A wordless purr broke the silence as they both ran towards each other. She only stopped as she realized what expression his face was carrying. Rage seemed to flow through him like his own blood, and in turn fear pounded into her veins. The gritty sand flew off the dirty white paws as she leaned back and stopped. Her lost friend jumped from a pounce and landed on top of her weak body. She let him, fear still holding her captive for the moment. It wasn't until he had scratched her cheek that she snapped out of it. Weak backpaws batted against his stomach, claws still sheathed as she was just trying to get him off. "Please... Please I won't hurt you! I refuse. I refuse." whimpered out the she-cat as she turned her head. The white part of her cheek was now pink with new blood and turning redder still. If Treepelt was saying anything she couldn't hear, she couldn't hear anything, but her own pitiful cries for him to not fight. Her forepaws pressing against his tabby fur, feeling the bones from underneath him. The fear was too much for the gray she-cat, she could feel her grip on reality loosening. 0 players like this post!
