December event starts on Dec 1st 00:00am and ends on 31st at 11:59pm.
All event currency is always stored on your account until next year.

Giving and Pooping
It's the Season of Gifting! You can smell visit other players' dens and choose what you want to leave - once per player, and every Wednesday and Saturday the cooldown will reset - so you will be able to gift/poop in that player's den again. Gifting and pooping cooldowns will reset every Wednesday and Saturday just so you can gift the same people again. A real gift (items, SB, or GB) will push the Gifting Bar towards unlocking the tiers of the Guelta and raise your karma by 1 with each gift you leave. A poopy gift will raise the Poop Bar towards unlocks of the Mudpit and lower your karma by 1 with each poop you leave. Receiving poop this year won't be so shitty! I'll explain why later.

Goodiebags will be disabled from gifting until we make sure they work properly, they were quite wonky last year. If they return, we'll definitely inform you in one of the news posts or notifications!

Try to not advertise gifts/poops or ask for them in chat.

You can fully unlock both bars, so don't worry - one does not exclude the other! However, there's a third bar below them - and it requires both bars to reach tier 1 in order to open! It also has 3 tiers in total - it's a Stink Bug Shop! Yay!

Remember that you can open your den gifts starting on 25th December and ending on 31st, 11:59pm.

Stink Bugs?

Explore encounters are our typical poopy Lioden humour - we just go silly this month. :D

Stink Bugs are our December currency - you gather them from new explore encounters (yes they do affect karma, but not all of them) and the poop bundles have a % chance of producing a Stink Bug when you open them!

You can spend them in the new shop for all the fancy new decors and applicators as well as Jolly Pose applicator.

NOTE:
We might be adjusting the %'s from last year (in your favour, if we do) but that idea is waiting right now until another coding day. If we do tweak that part, you will be informed via one of the Friday news posts before the holidays arrive.

Event Specials

The Advent Calendar: The two sets we had in 2013-2016 rotated twice already and the decors are fairly available in the game all year round via market, we believe. In 2017 and 2018 we'd like to add new sets and rotate them as well! The previous decors might reappear in the game in special shops if we notice there's a demand for them.

Advent decors are completely free, you just have to log in that day and claim the prize in the EVENT section! You must open them in order, but if you miss a day, don't worry - you'll be able to collect all the gifts as long as you click in the order! The Advent Calendar runs from the 22nd up until, and including, the 29th of December, but we leave it up until the 30th to make sure everyone gets a chance of collecting the gifts.

- Albino explore encounters are a theme I wanted to put in to celebrate winter like most of our userbase. Some encounters might get an artistic update for this year around December 2nd, as they do look pretty outdated to me.
- All poopy/muddy encounters we kept permanently were added 3 years ago - Elephant Dung, Dirty Warthog and Lion Scat, so they are nothing new really but this event is how they started :D
- Mudpit items are still smelly and useless. But you can find treasures as well!

Something Builds Up...
The winter in Africa is... not really wintery. It's summer there, actually. But most Liodenians live in the northern hemisphere and we all love snow time. To somehow mix lion & user fun, something fluffy and white will appear very slowly, to not disturb the African feeling of the game. The more tiers you open, the more of it will appear in explore and other places, but not too much, and not yet. And then the Snuhlions will appear in the dens.

2017:
- 6 new explore encounters including 2 battle ones. 3 encounters will appear right away, 1 encounter will show up for snow tier 1, and 1 encounter for tier 2 and 3 each.
- One of the encounters will give you a unique, 1-time only achievement, items, and titles, that won't repeat/reward you other times when you see it.
- 4 new decors from the Mudpit (tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3).
- Arctic Base, Mane, and Markings for tier 3 in the Mantis Shop.
- 13 new decors in the shop (they will unlock in the wardrobe/catalogue as the tiers are near opening).
- Expect Shad to add new event tags soon!

Btw I know this Green Cub encounter is technically outdated because we did add a Green base... but it's not breedable. So I guess it can stay. What do you think?

INFORMATION ABOUT DECEMBER 1ST FRIDAY - from Xylax
I was so swamped with Black Friday work and event work on top of family stuff, that I just couldn't produce enough content for Friday update. And rather than just not having an update or having a tiny one, I decided to push it for December 2nd, (a Saturday update) and give you guys fun things done in that extra day. It's not much time but I think I will make something nice :D
You shall be hugged with new shiny things until Art Update on 15th that will be more focused on the usual stuff like markings for muties and stuff
