She was the second cub in a litter of two, and marked in white as if someone had missed a spot while painting her colors; from the very outset of her life she knew she was pretty. She hoped to be a warrior or huntress, but it became clear when she was an adolescent that it would never happen, as she had a single lame leg that prevented her from hunting or fighting. She was destined for the life of a broodmother. Her life is what some might call pathetic. Her father Chike has promised her to his most loyal sub-male, a vicious son of Ra who might as soon kill her as be her mate, and so she waits in horror for her first heat, terrified of what might come. All of her time is spent in her den, trying to hide from her future. She is chronically timid and easily frightened, and she suffers from nightmares; when anyone approaches her from behind she panics. She dreams that she’ll run away when she becomes pregnant, but the sad truth is that she is too scared to leave. When he turned 1 Shrike started following the lionesses whenever they would go out hunting in the savannah. Shortly after Chike had taken over his father's old pride, the young lion was confronted by the older male and was given a scar on his face. Even though Shrike was still young, the pride would need other males to help protect against outsiders looking to take over and he was told his life was spared for that one reason. If he were to ever betray the new King then he would surely be severely punished. Shrike had never liked his father but family was family and now with his mother dead, killed by Chike when he first took over, the young male has no love for the new King either. Despite his large stature Shrike lacks in battle skills needed to fight multiple lions at once, but a one-on-one turns in his favor. He would rather watch and listen from a distance rather than observing someone at their side, which would explain why he isn't trying to get on Chike's 'good side', if he even has one. //Significant Relationships// Son of Ra //Appearance// Despite not being being fully grown yet, Shrike is a good couple of inches taller than the average male lion; like his father Ra. He has yet to grow a developed mane, showing a thick mowhawk style of surprisingly mid to dark brown hair instead of the usual light golden of other young males. A thin scar of 5" runs past the corner of his left eye and slightly curves towards his nose, a reminder of Chike's 'kindness' that the young lion wasn't killed during the takeover.
