I'm just meaning this would be so very annoying to have in the game. This is a social game, you can't expect people to not talk to you. If you don't like it put [No Pms] in your name and people won't message you to be social, I love messages and I rarely get social ones so most likely people who show there hate for them wouldn't get any. And I bet it will so many problems like people asking in chat for pmed offers while forgetting they have this on, people trying to pm people about a trade offer but being unable to because they have this on, etc.

Of course! Attempting to change a mind that's already been set just ends in conflict. I can see your side of things, but I can respectfully disagree. ^^ Or try to haha; Sometimes I can be difficult if I'm passionate about it.

This would be so so so nice like omg you wouldn't believe. I quit playing a few years ago because of getting way too many messages that were either like 'I CANNOT believe you bred whatever lioness without a gnawrock >:V' or 'Your favorite lioness is so pretty and she'd look even better on my account don't you think ;)' or 'I saw you're selling whatever marking and would you jack the price up cuz we're trying to start a cartel and you're kinda ruining it' and I haven't had that problem since coming back but it's one of those things where I'm almost 100% sure that it's been a problem for more than just me. Sometimes you just need everyone to leave you alone so you can cool down for a week and if you just don't log then you get swamped with those kinds of messages too 'I can't believe you have whatever and you've quit you're so selfish' and just AHHHHH

Really? Man, I guess that's good but it also sucks at the same time? Like I'm glad it's not a common problem, but at the same time since it isn't why me in particular?

They weren't worded exactly like I put them, but that's what most of the messages boiled down to. It was mostly on my side account, started pretty much right after I won a weekly raffle lady. She was the first girl to have whatever marking (white lace maybe? I dunno) so I got the normal 'I'll buy her!' messages, plus some 'Give me her first heat!' or 'Who you gonna breed her to?' type messages which I know happened to other people that won new marking girls before. Those were mostly fine, some people got pushy but most people were nice. But after I expected things to die down, a few months down the road, I started getting those other messages. People angry I couldn't breed her right with all the items, people angry the marking was rare and wanting me to not keep any, people angry that it might get common and asking me to price higher. It was too much to deal with on top of rl at the time so I sold her and then there were people angry that I didn't sell her to them instead so I just stopped logging. And then I came back this year to super old messages angry that I was gone. It was mostly weird and I feel like I could probably have handled it better if it happened now but like... man, what even was the point of any of that?

It was actually kind of nice to rant, thanks y'all for the opportunity. I don't wanna derail things here though so I'll probably jump off with my piece said.

Oh you’re definitely not the only one @Drakel - I’ve had all kinds of weird messages like that over the years! I think that’s relatively common honestly. I used to get tons of random friend requests from complete strangers in kind of the same way too, though thankfully - unlike PMs currently - they can now be turned off. Which is why I’d love to have that option for messages too, for when you just don’t want the hassle. It’s a feature I really appreciate in other games/apps/etc

Honestly this would be a lifesaver, full support.

I won a raffle lioness on my side account a while back, and I would have killed to be able to set PM’s to just allies. I was getting flooded with messages for a week straight, even after I put “Do Not PM me about the raffle lioness” in both account bios.

To add to a suggestion

Instead of one week, have intervals. Say 1 day, 2 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month. Then a message will be sent to player “x” trying to PM you along the lines of “Player has temporarily disabled private messaging. Messages will reopen in “X” days/hours/weeks.” That way those going on vacation/hiatus/winning an anticipated raffle/attempting to scam can have some reprieve but can’t totally avoid important messages. After “X” days you’d have to go back in and re-disable the messages. This allows those who REALLY don’t want to talk (those with anxiety, for example) the opportunity to block everything, but those wanting temporary reprieve or who are disabling with ‘malicious intent’ have to REALLY want to not receive messages.

I'm going to go ahead and give my opinion here. To be honest I'm not entirely sure that this is a feature we need. I know that there's different kinds of people when it comes to PMs. Some that love to see a new message and some that are annoyed everytime they see one. Well, if you don't want messages, isn't it just simple enough to delete them without reading them?

And also, where would the disable button go? If it's too easy to accidentally click, new (and old) players that don't know about the feature could get very confused about why they're not getting PMs or replies from people.
