They don't necessarily change. Unless you want them to. Take Luna, Dakota's Familiar, as a example. She is a Direwolf, a large wolf, that had gone extinct. Seeing her in that form would undoubtedly bring questions about. As such, a glamour is applied to her which makes her appear as just a normal wolf.

Another example is ThatOne's OC's familiar. Melkai. Melkai is a snow leopard, however, with the glamour, she appears as just a normal housecat that has snow leopard like markings.

@Joker. I'm fine with it, These are just details that seem to almost always be forgotten despite them being in the plot/synopsis. A note though, Karasu's familiar doesn't need to be special in anyway, as far as I'm considered he's special enough. The main thing is that the familiar is intelligent and has a bond with the God/Goddess that's been there from the beginning.

An example: Luna, Dakota's familiar. She isn't really "special" in any way. She won't talk aloud, can't breath fire or anything like that, she's just a highly intelligent wolf that's bonded to Dakota and will protect her in any way and will communicate with her via body language and the occasional huff or such.

Sure. At the moment Cali is just there (ignore her, I'll control her minimally until I can kill her off) along with Suzume (Amber's OC, she's usually online on weekends) and Dakota. Dakota and Suzume are in the kitchen, and Cali is next to the bed if memory serves.
