@Kat, that would be a good idea. Like it depends there is a few not too rare items on Black Friday too. But we got many items worth a few gbs at least or nice decorations.

Maybe even a choice where if you buy X Gbs you can choose an item on Oasis marked as your price worth X Gbs or something could also work?

I think this is a great idea. I would look into buying GB if it came in 'special' bundles during the holidays.
Like for Christmas they could make it let's say $20 for a small present, $50 for a medium present, and $100 for a large present. When you buy it, there will be GB (The amount will say on each present but not the other stuff inside). Of course the bigger the present, the more goodies you get. They could put in special decor and items in each present to make it more fun and exciting for players.

EX: You buy a medium present for $50 which includes the default of 100GB but it includes let's say 3 decor items and some other special Christmas item.

@Bear, sounds awesome! Yeah I think these offers would also make it more fun buying GB/Special bundles for their friends that play the game or maybe a gift wish for family/friends. Like I know sadly not all has the money, but still nice gift/offer for those who has.
Still remember been happy of my parents support for a Christmas event on another game some years ago.

This sounds like a great idea, although I think that if this is introduced, there should only be a few main holidays or international celebration days to avoid adding too much too soon.

Perhaps there should also be a special GB offer for this month's event as this is the month when Lioden supports anti-poaching groups and organizations. This would likely encourage more people to buy GB while still supporting the site in addition to contributing to anti-poaching efforts.

@Sora, I was thinking the same. How I would feel more *safe* or easily for all to support a good case if Lioden for example gave away x% of the money they got this month to a good anti-poaching team.

I think more or less all nice upgrade on GB sale on Lioden would be a good thing for all.

Sounds like a nice idea, but no support. Black Friday is huge, users save up all year to buy gb than.
Having a second day, it'll lower the speciality of it ^^

It sounds good, but would eat into the lioden profits that they use for the site, mostly because people would stop buying it all year and only buy it on those days, that and not everyone here celebrates a lot of the same holidays, so it makes it harder.

I think some would buy all year anyway. Seem much profits comes from 1 day a year I guess if we talk about % of profits on each days. But I was always thinking the idea would have some agree and disagrees. Like any other ideas it`s in the end up to Lioden Team to see if the sugesstion suits them or not.

Totally support. I hope its okay that I indirectly reference this, but another site I'm on that I won't name started monthly deals for their real life currency and I absolutely buy more of it than I did before that. I'm too dead broke to just go around buying imaginary money on a monthly basis, but having a bonus? Definitely helps with that decision.

I completely disagree with the argument that this will somehow hurt lioden. Expecting a site to ride off one day a year in terms of funding is ridiculous to me. I've only ever bought GB twice in my four years here because I can never justify the price. Having some incentive to buy it on certain days makes me feel more comfortable about spending money I need in rl on something frivolous. If anything I think it'll increase the amount of buyers per month. The other model I'm talking about still has a black friday sale that sees great success, but now they also make a good profit each month from casual players too.

I'd nix the idea of only doing it on holidays though. People are distracted those days, I don't know if I'd come on on say Valentine's day just to buy GB. :s Make it monthly. Or every two months. Schedule it so people can plan and budget between sales.

I can see two ways of incentivising it: an extra percentage of GB on that day, or an exclusive item received with purchase as people are suggesting for holiday sales. Adding a desirable decor to a that's exclusive to purchasing GB that month/day would spur people to buy more often. It would only be a rate of one extra decor for the artists a month, and it could be recycled for two years before being retired to keep people interested. Heck, some people might even buy just for the decor, with the GB being a bonus. I don't see the difference between say, 50 users buying scattered throughout the month, and 50 users buying on a single day. If it's a monthly thing that negates people just waiting to buy GB once a year. That $200 you spent on black Friday can get eaten up real quickly. What happens when the site runs low on funds and nobody buys because they're waiting for black Friday ? Of course black Friday should have better bonuses, but I don't think there's anything wrong with offering deals more often.

The more money this site can bring in year round, the better quality output we get from the staff. I think it's vital to keep money flowing at a steady rate. I'd love to hear if anyone thinks this model won't work for lioden. I think it'd do great but maybe I'm missing something?

Yeah I too was thinking I am short on money at times and wish we could schedule it more of we had more Offers and not to forget many of us do spend a lot of money on Christmas things already in November. I guess many have months where they have more money to spend than other months again.
