This is an official clan thread for the The Unsullied Supremacy Clan!

Id love it if the clan members introduced them self, and if we could somewhat active in this chat! No question is a stupid question, and i recommend everyone to help the other clan members if they are able to!
No begging allowed. And also the LD rules apply in all clan activity both inside the game, but also in outside activity like discord/skype chat (planned).

Any suggestions are more than welcome!

Since I had someone outside the clan message me and ask about my method I finally wrote an explanation. Here's what I told them, hopefully it makes sense:

OK, I finally have some time to sit and write this out. Hopefully my methods make sense!

My clean lined stats pride is reliant upon its queens (the "Inner Circle" in my Den) - five lionesses that are my trained and only hunting team. When I started, these were two customs, two chased NCLs, and one second generation lioness. These are the lines I pass down (one heiress for each queen, each generation) - my king always comes from outside these lines.

That means that all heirs must be born OUTSIDE the pride, or at the very least, an outside king & one of my unrelated lionesses (Outer Circle).

My heirs are timed so that they are around 15 years old when I king them. This ages them back to 8 years, and maximizes their stat growth. This means I also have two heirs at any time (the next generation, and the generation after). I usually will send one of them to my side to patrol so that I can have both gaining stats during the same time period.

Though it's slower stat growth than unclean breeding, this is the general method:

1. The Queens (huntresses) hunt as often as possible in order to get stats. 10 hunts by day is default. If you're around enough and can afford it, buy/GMO chicken them more hunts after they're used up. Each hunt is a high chance to gain stats for them.

2. The heir(s) patrol on a regular/hourly basis for a chance at stat growth. Basically every time I set a hunt, I check to see if the submale patrol is available.

3. The king battles as much as possible in Explore. I aim for a personality that is geared for battle - March's Stoic is good, as it's -7 energy instead of -10 for a successful battle, the good/evils that boost damage during day/night are also good. The idea here is to push the king's experience as much as possible, for more stats.

4. Experience items (battle drones, tortoises) are pushed on a king when they are crowned. I save them up in between crowning a king, and only use them when I king a new heir to help push that experience & stats early on.

5. Stat boosting foods and toys, like Dry Palm Leaves and Honeycombs, are used on the Queens/huntresses, as it is their stat line that matters more.

6. When Queens reach get close to age 14, their *last* breeding is reserved with the current king to produce their heiress. I usually breed around their 12th year, as this gives time to train the adolescent girls before the older ones retire.

7. The king is replaced on or near his 15th birthday (as close as possible) to allow the submale and new king to be as close to 15 as possible before kinging. No early retirement is done, ever - aging back these guys is crucial to helping keep the stats growing.

--

As you can imagine that's quite a bit to manage. I have a google spreadsheet here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1aHrQ-gwmuaBZiART_CxK7E7ckl9qHladBNT6NCxspd8/edit?usp=sharing

(you can make a copy if you wish - I haven't fully updated it with the new generation just yet)

The first sheet tracks the ages of my kings/heirs and the lionesses/heiresses. I hide columns as these lions retire, and rows as time passes. I make sure to highlight the 12th birthday of the lionesses to remember to breed their successor, and the crowning days for kings. Generally speaking, I aim to have my new heir's birth date be as close to the time that the current heir is 8 years old, but because I never know what heir I'm getting (and sometimes surprise inherit them), I have to just move dates around a bit for the heir. The key things is to make sure they don't retire before they're kinged, or that's a bunch of hard work wasted!

The second sheet just has the age chart pasted for reference so I can easily grab and paste it.

The third sheet is my personal heritage tracker. I take the IDs of the queens and kings via heritage and the sheet has formulas to check for duplicates. That way, when I'm searching to see if a new lion (perhaps when shopping for a new heir) is related, I can just pop IDs in and catch instances of inbreeding before I invest.

... that's a lot to take in. The key point is: the 5 queens are the stat carriers and are what keeps the generational stat flow going. The kings, eventually, will lag behind them, but they're pushed on their stats as much as possible so that they can result in higher stats for the new generation when they're born. While it's a slower growth method than unclean, and takes more management, it also results in a gradual increase carried through the female lines and actual clean lines with stats.

I wish I was a detailed and organized as you! xD

I love breeding for stats, but I'm all about looks too, so I try to breed for specific markings or mane types (even if they're not visible on the females).

My two projects are my Black Frost and Cotton Candy. Black Frost deals with generally dark bases with accents of blue, black, and white. My favorite lionesses in this project also sport the Nimravus White mark- mostly because it looks good to me.

The Cotton Candy project is more whimsical, but also a LOT harder I've found. That one uses lighter bases with a mixture of light blue (glacial or arctic) with pink (cherry and ardor mostly). Getting cubs with an aesthetically pleasing mix of those marks has been painfully difficult for me. Though I've been having better luck lately since I've been getting more Cherry Glaze cubs.

Truthfully, though, I may lower the priority of the Cotton Candy project in wake of an experimental one that looks as cream and gold genetics- with a desert theme going on. If you want to see the two girls I have for this potential project, they're in my home den under the names Rift and Anubia.

I wish i was too xD i change my mind like all the time, from one project to another. Event tough i am keeping most of it clean, one day i want to breed a color or a mark, the next day i want to go for a mutation.
Right now my main project is muties, hoping for DU's. Because i am having a slow period i cant manage to hunt my ladies as much as i was hoping for, so the goal is not reached on that project :p maybe next time xD

Finally I will post something here. First of: Hello there you all!

I started Lioden at first with the intention of simply breeding nice cubs with good stats and good markings. But as that became a tad to easy, I started shifting towards the idea of clean lines. Still with my first king, I had a proper starting point too.
The shift to an entirely clean pride will probably take a bit, given that I still have lions II truely like, who aren't clean. But I will keep them until they die.

That said, I want to start a small project of my own, to somewhat benefit the group. I saw a thread about chasing lions and returning them to those who chased them, in order to obtain nicely marked lions with clean heritage and I think that is a noble and wonderful idea.

My part in this, will be me tracking down cheap lions with nice genes and chasing them once they grow up, to put out more lions to find in the wild. I will not want them returned, but kept by people.

If a thread on this is wanted, do just reply. I can then put up the lions I chase and when I chased them, so people can look out for them.

I do hope this helps out. Of course, I will also keep a lookout for lions others have chased and see if I can find them in the wild.

I'll have 12 clean cubs being born soon, and a few clean cubs for free in my free cave. There's also a few in my lioness and cub caves that I could be persuaded to part with (: hope everyone is well!
