Passing rates are determined by a preset percentage in the program. Keep in mind- just because there is a chance for a coat to pass doesn't mean it will, even if the passing percentage is high. If you're breeding for a specific coat it works best to limit the variables- try to breed within the color, shade, gradient, and rarity if possible. The more variables present the less chance of a specific outcome! Each of the four classifications are explained below and the passing percentages are included.

Color Groups

Each coat is a part of one of four distinct color groups- Black, Cream, Golden, or Red. Breeding color groups is fairly basic, the results are such:

Black x Black = 100% Black
Black x Cream = 50% Black, 50% Cream
Black x Golden = 50% Black, 50% Golden
Black x Red = 50% Black, 50% Red

And so on, so forth.

Shades

There are three types of shades- Dark, Medium, or Light. Breeding shades is a little more involved, and the statistics break down into:

Dark x Dark = 100% Dark
Dark x Medium = 50% Dark, 50% Medium
Dark x Light = 25% Dark, 50% Medium, 25% Light
Medium x Medium = 15% Dark, 70% Medium,15% Light
Medium x Light = 50% Medium, 50% Light
Light x Light = 100% Light

Gradient

There are two types of gradients to coats, Countershaded and Solid. The breakdown of passing rates for these are quite simple as well:

Countershaded x Countershaded = 100% Countershaded
Countershaded x Solid = 50% Countershaded, 50% Solid
Solid x Solid = 100% Solid

Rarity

Common and Special are the two types of rarity and they have varying passing rates:

Common x Common = 100% Common
Common x Special = 85% Common, 15% Special
Special x Special = 70% Common, 30% Special

Combo Bases

These are unique bases that can only be achieved through breeding specific coats together (sometimes in specific conditions).
