I was trying to think of a solution to the 1 cub litter issue seeming so punishing despite stats staying the same since the site's launch. True RNG rarely feels fair to an end user, which is why many games have adopted a pseudo or weighted RNG that more closely matches human expectations. To make a long story short, my suggestion is this: Implement a streak mechanic that can either be per lion or per pride that makes 2 cub litters more likely to happen the more 1 cub litters you have in a row. The streak would be reset on 2+ cub litters. This increasing chance doesn't have to be anything major - it could start as something practically negligible (50% becomes 50.67% scaling by .67% each iteration) and start gauging the economical impact and player perception from there. The very idea that a "1 cub streak" increases chances, however small, of not being disappointed during the next breeding just might be enough to satisfy players. I hope I explained this well enough, but please don't hesitate to ask me to clarify anything. |

No support, I actually prefer true random chance :"D Makes it more fun, I guess? And makes 3 or 4 cub litters more exciting and unexpected. Though personally, I wish 1 cub litters weren't as common, as in the wild lionesses often have way more cubs than just 1 :/ ![]() |

But that's literally what my suggestion is. Making it slightly less common. And this wouldn't impact 3/4 cub litters at all. It only increases the chance of getting a 2 cub litter in the place of a 1 cub litter after a streak of 1 cubs. ![]() Edited on 10/06/18 @ 09:59:04 by Rocket (#46813) |
