So, currently the impression levels go like this: Barely Noticeable Not Very Impressive Not Impressive Average Slightly Impressive Somewhat Impressive Impressive Very Impressive Extremely Impressive Dreamboat I think that the two bold ones should switch places because, to me, it seems like a bit of a downgrade to go from being a tiny bit impressive to being not at all impressive. pls Suggestion of possible name changes for the whole list by #106865: Unknown (New) Barely noticeable Kinda noticeable (New) Recognizable/Noticeable (New) Slightly Impressive Moderately Impressive (New) Impressive Very Impressive Well-Known (New) Dreamboat ---------------- My other suggestions: Masterpost here |

It may be correct, but "not impressive" doesn't really need an intensifier, honestly. ![]() |

Maybe it's just my opinion, but if it were Very Unimpressive, THAT sounds like it was intensified. But Not Very Impressive sounds like it's a bit impressive, but not much. ![]() |

Not Very is just a nicer term. Like "you're not very strong" actually means "you're weak", but in a polite-ish term. That's why it doesn't sound bad. It makes it not too blunt or aggressive. "Not very nice" compared to "Not nice at all". But yes, Not Very Impressive sounds like you're a bit impressive at least. It actually depends on the speaker, and who they are. If you call your friends book "not very interesting", it can be implied that it's slightly interesting rather than boring. And Very Unimpressive would be changed to Most Unimpressive usually. ![]() |

Yeah, I guess it does depend on the reader's interpretation at least somewhat :v ![]() |

I have always found the wording of 'not very noticeable -> not impressive' strange, and I'm glad I'm not the only one. Support! ![]() |

Just replace "Not Very Impressive" with "Very Unimpressive" (which I think is what they mean) and "Not Impressive" with "Unimpressive". Then you get: Barely Noticeable Very Unimpressive Unimpressive Average Slightly Impressive Somewhat Impressive Impressive Very Impressive Extremely Impressive Dreamboat Which makes more sense to me. ![]() Edited on 10/08/18 @ 08:14:22 by Coal (#133177) |

I really like these - they don't sound super redundant with all the "Impressives". I'll edit it to my original post! ![]() |

Support either of these options. I have a hard time keeping track of my impression level when I get a new king. If they don't want to change the levels, honestly, even adding (1/10) next to the impression level would help me. It's annoying having to look it up to see where I am. ![]() |

Support- it's always irked me how those two steps progress. Regardless of whether it's technically correct or not, going from 'not very' to 'not' always makes me think I've gone down an impression step! ![]() |

Support for the edited list but not for a simple swap. Ideally we wouldn't use the word "impressive" at all for an impression title. At least to me, it sounds a bit onerous. I've not been able to come up with a full list of ten on my own though. Your edited list is a good start though, reducing the similarity of the titles significantly. ![]() |

Support- this has always annoyed me. ‘Not very’ implies that although it’s not much you are still to some extent impressive, like saying there’s not many apples on a table, there are still some apples, just not a massive amount. ‘Not impressive’ implies you aren’t impressive at all, so not very impressive is more impressive than not. It’s like when Americans say ‘I could care less’ when they mean ‘I couldN’T’ care less’, because you’re implying that you care to some degree in the former. Language is weird. Maybe change ‘not very impressive’ to unimpressive or something ![]() |

Not sure why this suggestion got buried - the second and third impression levels should be swapped. It doesn't make sense to go from "a liiiittle impressive" to "not impressive at all". ![]() |

I'd like to add Unknown and replace Average. Also tbh, I've leveled up my impression twice since reaching Dreamboat and it's such a disappointment to receive a couple stats. I would prefer new titles or maybe an energy refill or something. ![]() |
