Maybe there could be different flavor text for having evil karma? For example, my king who is currently on the road to becoming a deathlord might not be as nice to a lion he comes across, even if that lion is his own child.

If I may suggest some encounters:
As you explore you see [lioness name] and [lioness name] fighting over whose fault it is that the zebra got away.
You find three of your adolescents crowed around in a circle. Apparently, they're cheering on their beetles in the mist of a 'fearsome battle'. You stop to watch for a bit before you continue on your merry way.
You stumble upon [male cub's name] in the middle of a singing a song, something about how he can't wait to be king... wait, what?

That would make me cry tears of joy. My suggestion would be having it tied to the whole list of options at the bottom of each lions page. That way you can be 'haunted' by those you 'killed' for Halloween. Each reaction can even be varied depending on the lion/lioness personality. For example:

While exploring you come across a vaguely familiar place. A chill creeps up your spine causing fur to bristle as thick fog rolls across the ground forming a thick white blanket that bunches at your paws coating them in cold dew. As you look around odd shapes seem to dance in the gloom. Detecting movement you turn and see (enter lion/lioness name here) stepping toward you. Memories flood back to you, flitting across your mind like startled birds, right up to you powerful blow. Letting your eyes cross over him/her you notice their paws do not touch the ground.

Good/Kind Lion/Lioness: help you
Neutral Lion/Lioness: inform you
Snarky/Evil Lion/Lioness: hinder you

Maybe the cubs aren’t sent to a nature reserve, but the cubs you gave to the giving tree? Or given to another pride!

“You find [male cub’s name] wandering along the borders of your pride, he seems all grown up now! Wait, what’s he singing?.... uh oh.”

“You find a pack of cubs playing along a river, with the monkey from the giving tree watching over them. Wait, why would someone abandon a Tigon?”

“A huge, horrifying lion was in your territory. As the lion went closer, you prepared to fight... huh? Is that [cub’s name]? He/She’s all grown up now!”

“While you were exploring, you passed by the giving tree. As you began to walk away, you feel a tug on your tail. You notice [abandoned cub’s name] biting on your tail, not wanting you to go! Oh well, you can stay and play for a while.”

“You find a lone lioness. You approach the lioness, wanting to claim her, but realise she has a cub! Wait a second, this is one of the lionesses you chased off! Turns out she was pregnant. Wait... by who?”

Imagine some for if the kids fell under different personality types— not for EVERY SINGLE ONE but like...just the main Good, Kind, Snarky, Normal, Evil. It could be randomized too.

Say,

Evil— Your child is creeping in on your territory or plotting against another pride/causing trouble

Good— They maybe sit and chat with you or warn you away from danger

Kind— Stops you from hunting some prey animals bc there is a baby there you didn't notice at first

Normal— Just trotting along, minding its own

Snarky— The kid teases you or maybe mocks you by copying your posture and stride
