I believe that the position of Messenger is a held off for a plot point right now because their original one was just killed but talk to Peachie about it to be sure. I think it may have actually been reserved to start training Flamepaw actually? Not 100% sure though but Peachie should be able to clear it up with you soon :)

My apologies Katia, I should have given Umbraclaw a chance to stop Foxpaw. Got a little over excited to get involved in the action. I'll be more thoughtful in the future.

Anyway Peachie and Razz, I have a question I need to ask. Is it unheard of for an apprentice to change mentors in an occasion outside of death? Main reason I ask is because Umbraclaw is going to try to get Foxpaw out of that situation asap for everyone's good. Since clearly an out of control, rage filled apprentice is the last thing they need in this rather delicate situation. After all, if a battle does break out, she would also be an easy target and Umbraclaw doesn't want that to happen.

Yet she also knows that doing so is liable to drive a giant wedge between her and Foxpaw, to the point that she doubts she could be an effective mentor to her anymore. It's not a case of her giving up, more so as recognizing the fact that Foxpaw would probably learn better from someone that she doesn't resent the hell out of.

OK so, Peachie, correct me if I'm wrong on this but here's what I would have Gingerstar do in the situation.

Gingerstar would have a discussion with Foxpaw. She would explain that as a warrior, a cat needs to be able to take orders, respect, and even work with cats that they are angry at, dislike, or even despise. She'd give an example from her youth when she got into a fight with a fellow apprentice, but during a big battle they still fought side by side despite Gingerstar [then Gingerpaw] hating the other apprentice beyond belief. But they were clanmates and clanmates have to have each other's backs in all situations. Then she would ask Foxpaw if it is going to be too hard for her to remain under Umbraclaw as a mentor. If Foxpaw says yes it's going to be too hard, she's liable to experience a delay in her earning a warrior name because of her inability to let go and work around problems amongst superiors in particular. However, if Foxpaw says that she is going to want to maintain her position under Umbraclaw, Gingerstar would give the apprentice a week or two under a different mentor for things to settle between them and then Foxpaw would resume her apprenticeship under Umbraclaw fulltime. During this sabbatical, Umbraclaw is welcome to be present for all training and/or conference with the temporary mentor to explain to them exactly what must be done and how far things should be going with her training so that they can resume working together mostly uninterrupted. Gingerstar would be loathe to change a mentor on an apprentice as far into their training as Foxpaw, particularly because she's almost reached the milestone of becoming a warrior and by changing a mentor it would extremely detriment this progress.

Umbraclaw would have a hand in choosing who mentors Foxpaw temporarily as well

y'all ik there's stuff goin on in the rp right now but I just have to share that I used an IBF on one of my mottled lionesses (w an ochre saltlick to pass on mottled rosette) and I got a mottled primal male n I'm so happy lol, wasn't expecting any mutations rlly. That being said, Idk what I should do w him, I don't really want a primal king anymore, so I have an heir that's just a good, ol fashion mottled Katanga lion. Should I keep him? sex change him? sell him? I have no idea lol

@Razz I just saw your post! If he can't be a messenger I can change it up a bit. He can just be a slightly terrible, very starclan oriented warrior. I definitely don't want to steal the position from. someone else, expessially someone who was kind enough to let me mesh with their in game kin. I'll see what peach says though.
