Announcement Regarding Base Pass RatesWe would like to address an issue that has recently been brought to our attention regarding special bases and their pass rates. Based on the information that we have seen, we went ahead and ran some tests against our breeding system. It was discovered that the pass rate percentages are no longer accurate to the numbers stated in the genetics introduction news post back from mid-2015. As the number of bases has slowly but steadily increased, the percentages gradually became skewed over time. This was an oversight on our part, and was in no way intentional - we apologise for this. As of today's update, we have adjusted the rates to work properly for breedings. However, we would like to state that breeding special (rare) bases are still just as difficult to pass on as they were prior to the change, as those bases are meant to stay rare. Additionally, we have renamed the genetics categories to hopefully make base rarities a little more clear. Before this change, there were two rarities for bases: "Common" and "Special". "Special" encapsulated everything from customisable specials available through the Oasis to specials that could only be applied or passed down via raffle lioness. Now, we have the following: "Common", "Uncommon", "Rare", and "Special". "Common" bases are exactly as they were prior to this change - anything that can be found in the wild on NCLs and rolled males, as well as most bases applied via Oasis, and certain combo bases. "Uncommon" bases are now bases that were previously categorised as special, but can be applied via Oasis, such as Buttermilk, Korat, Maltese, Onyx, etc. "Rare" bases are bases that can only be achieved through breeding, such as Anjeer, Champagne, Cocoa, Fiery, and so on. "Special" bases are what those difficult-to-breed bases are now categorised as. These include applicator, non-common combo, and raffle-exclusive bases such as Cairngorm, Celestial, Haze, Lilac, Orchid, Pulsar, etc. We want to make it clear that it is still essentially broken down to "Common" and "Special". This tweak only separates the different categories of "Specials" into more clarified sections, which should be easier for users to understand. Below, we have included a rough estimate of the adjusted breeding passage rates. Common x Common = Guaranteed common Common x Uncommon/Rare/Special = Very high chance for Common, very small chance for Uncommon/Rare/Special Uncommon/Rare/Special x Uncommon/Rare/Special = Good chance for Common, decent chance for Uncommon/Rare/Special Uncommon x Uncommon can still produce Rare offspring, and vice versa. Special will never pass unless one of the parents is also Special." ALL BREEDING CHANGES COME TO LIFE AS OF THIS NEWS POST, IT APPLIES TO ANY BREEDING DONE AFTER We have now implemented the cooldown change with regards to a poll we took a short while ago. From now on, patrolling will take a full hour to get the results. This means that you won’t have to come back within 15 minutes for results, and then come back 45 minutes later to patrol again once the cooldown is finished. You’ll be able to send another lion straight out after you pick up your results! Two more items have been added to the ‘stud item pool’, where you can send items over in a stud request to be used on the stud you’re requesting at the point of breeding. These two items are: Opal Saltlick and Rock Salt. ** New Emotes! ** 5 new emotes have been added today! clap omegalul ha wat :v give Event Encounter A new, extremely rare encounter has been added to explore for the August Event. Will you find the Mysterious Stranger? And what gift will he bestow upon you? * Double Uterus * The rarity of Double Uterus has been modified again due to a high number of DUs being present on the site. This is lowered both from where it generates (a fresh new mutation) and from when it’s passed down via Lion Scrotum. The new rate of passing DU using Lion Scrotum is now 5% instead of the usual 25% the item gives. This does not affect other mutations bred with this item. * Kimanjano * Kimanjano’s pass rate has also been lowered. The rate remains the same if the mother is a Leopon as well as the cub, but is lowered if the cub is not a Leopon, and then lowered again if the mother also isn’t a Leopon. Fun thing - we noticed there were some markings that we simply forgot to add in over the years. One or two per update were just kind of omitted. So today, they appear for you like intended! Custom: * Scoria Dapple * Leg Banding Blue * Tail Banding Blue * Leg Spotting Fading Heather * Leg Spotting Strong Heather Raffle: * Dim Blue * Dim Red Rosette, working the same as the first Rosettes we introduced to the game: * Dark Brown Rosette * Fixed sprite rendering issue in Microsoft Edge & Firefox for Fire Escape * Combined userlog entries into one when earning a prize in Fire Escape / Poacher Chase * Clarified error message when unable to submit score due to session timing out (Fire Escape / Poacher Chase) * Added notice to games that reset at midnight (versus Rollover) * Added toggle to reduce visual movement in Fire Escape & Poacher Chase Layout tweaksLion Page Discussion Topic Some of you may remember that earlier in the year, we had a developer stream in which we asked the userbase what aspects of the site they would like to have updated for convenience. One of these adjustments included an update to the “Lion Page” to make it more user-friendly and condensed. The thread link below will direct you to a Game Development thread containing a mockup for this new page. We would be extremely grateful to gather your feedback and opinions on the current mockup, as well as any tweaks, necessary changes, etc. that you feel the page needs in order to be more streamlined and easier to access. LINK Survey for News In light of the upcoming Lion Page updates (which will hopefully be in next week!) we'd like to get your opinions on our potential update of the Den page. We would like to split the page into two, make the Den page itself more focused on your King and his pride, and then have a secondary "Player Profile" page which would include all of your player stats, allies, wishlist, etc. We would love for you to complete a short survey to let us know what you think are the most important things that should stay on the Den part if we go ahead with this change: LINK Announcement/Correction We will no longer be removing Discord IDs, Skype usernames, etc. from the forums and den pages. It is at the user's own risk to post them. Remember to protect yourself from cyberbullying as much as possible; we don't want to hinder our community growing together. Please be aware that we cannot moderate whatever is happening on Discord, Skype, or any other outside messaging platforms. Raffle LionessCongrats King Sabor (#127391)! I completely agree with the DU nerf. I've read comments about the popularity dying down like dwarves did, but now literally nobody wants dwarves, and they're difficult to sell. It seemed like the DU's began to slide like that, as they got bred so often and so quickly. That would suck if DUs became so popular that nobody wants them. I do understand where people are frustrated that they wasted their currency, rl and in game, for that mutation. Maybe if compensation was given to those people it would help. But personally I'd rather not have the DUs be so easy to get. It adds value to the game. Everyone still loves leopons and tries to get them because they're valuable and rare. I'm sure once this wave of frustration passes their value will go up. I do feel that the people who spent their currency ready to breed their DUs and then saw the chances were nerfed should be compensated, though. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I think this is gonna hurt du sales actually. and yeah it was getting more popular it's extreme useful for a mutation- but now there's really not much point even trying to breed for one cause its so low and already cost 70+ GB if not more to breed them to pass. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I honestly don't think DU prices were tanking. I think they would have stabilized around 10-20gb, which in my opinion is what they're worth. It's a mutation that doesn't change the look of the lion and people emphasize too much on what impact it could have made on the economy. Even if someone would have 20 DUs, it wouldn't change much. You can only breed them once every 20 days. if you'd like to get rid of the "1 cub curse" - which means 2 cubs fro DUs and happen 50% of the time - then you'd need to use breeding items anyway. No one has an infinite amount of breeding items and especially not in bulk. If you'd use them to breed to stat monsters, then surprise surprise! The cubs don't sell all the time, you'd have to kill some anyway and 1-4 more cubs can't tank the economy. CRB+GMO cow? Again no one has that many of them to "crash and burn" the economy. And even then, CRB has a high chance at failing, GMOs give foldies and achromias most of the time anyway. Spawn out special bases? Well it's something completely RNG based and you can't even use any item to make it turn to your favor. I tried to breed Sunrise with DUs and I honestly think, it would have been cheaper if I would have used a bunch of NCLs instead. Markings? There's no marking in game that would give you a significant monetary gain if you'd use DUs to get more . So honestly? The nerf was completely for nothing and just pisses everyone off and devalues the effort we put into getting our own DUs. Thank you so much 0 players like this post! Like? |

I totally agree with you on that holone it really wasn’t necessary to single out them now it just made it harder for me & everyone else to breed their DU & Kimajano 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yes, the Kiman nerf is laughable as well... I'm sorry Sid you got screwed over twice with this update. They probably did this, because of tigons. They should work on making the breeding system function less like an unfair lottery and have actual structure and logic to it, but they somehow manage to implement something that makes it even more frustrating to work with Also I think the DU mutation will nearly die out. We'll see a sudden increase of DUs when Tigons come out as a bunch of people will try to get one and it's inevitable to get some accidental ones. So those and the 1st gen DUs (the prior nerf ones) will take up the bulk of DUs. Once these 2 large group of DUs die (6-9 months from now) the DU population will fall down under 50 existing. Since now you'll only have 5% chance to get one, the only ones entering the game will be the few accidental 1st gens and from those who's crazy enough to drop a lion scrotum on them and somehow get lucky. Unfortunately, I don't think they calculated with users just refusing to use lion balls on DUs from now on (not all, but majority). So they won't make any changes as the bad outcome of this nerf will be obvious once the current and the tigon boom ones die. They protect themselves with "they are as valuable as leopons", but it's simply not true! Leopons have their own pose on all cub, adol and adult stages, have exclusive base and a marking which can come ONLY from them. What does DUs have? None of these, but require 3 expensive items (GOP/bufy ball + lion ball + great tit) to breed one, especially now since you only have 5% success rate. They was at least useful to those who were sick of the 1 cub pregnancies (which has too high possibility of happening, even if it's intentional) or had a harder project to work on. 0 players like this post! I also love how they introduced this just before Buffy scrots became available which was exactly what I was waiting for to breed mine.... *sighs* the more I think about it the more upsetting it is. That's why there's suggestions already to either put it back or what they could've done if they wanted to "fix" something that didn't really need it, it's ridiculous.... 0 players like this post! I'm going to agree with everyone, the albino base definitely needs nerfing. When I rolled my first king in october of 2017, the main base his cubs got were albino because of its extreme common rarity. And theres at least 1k of the other mutations, and DU's are only at 500 something. Look, if your gonna nerf kimjan base then nerf the albino one too? Because we have asked so many times for it and it never happens. And if your going to nerf one mutation, why can't you nerf the others? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Well that's... kind of disheartening about the DU pass rate. :/ Pretty unfortunate timing for me, too, as I was really hoping to breed another DU for a trade. I understand the need, but 25% to 5% is a pretty dramatic decrease. On a lighter note, am I the only one who read "Tigons?" in the voice of the seagulls from Finding Nemo? 0 players like this post!
