So, this is what I did last night instead of working on a business presentation. I’ve been sitting on the idea of how sick bird-inspired bases would be for a hot minute now. I only used birds that appear in Lioden and have feathers available as items. The idea that was in my head while making these is to have craftable base applicators from feathers much in the same way you can craft a locust base applicator from locust wings. I’m sure some variation of this idea has been brought up before, but this is just my interpretation of the concept. Some of these birds have incredibly bright and vibrant colors that had to be toned down for Lioden-friendly bases. Above each base is the bird that inspired it. I have the layered PSD file for each of these as well as lineless versions that I’ll add to the thread later:

Buzzard

Raven

Ibis

Black Heron

Blue Heron

Hoopoe

Crane


Would love to see if anyone else vibes with this idea. I would love suggestions and wouldn’t mind doing more mock-ups if anyone thinks there’s another bird that would look great as a base!
