Polite and demure, Talutah rarely has a bad thing to say about anyone. Though she'd be lying if she said she was sad to see Shujaa go, the lion was a tyrant and with his passing the lioness hopes that there will be some dramatic changes around here. Talutah is a pacifist and often spends her time patching up competitors after their battles. She also enjoys watching after the prize lionesses and any little ones that are spectators to the battles. Her quiet nature is sometimes mistaken for aloofness and can rub some lions the wrong way. Observant and judgmental Rameka is a hard lioness to please. A first impression means everything to Rameka, she believes that there are no 'do overs' in life and you get one shot to show the world what you're made of. The boisterous lioness likes to get the upper paw in any situation and doesn't enjoy being caught by surprise. Ram has no problems telling people exactly what she thinks of them and tossing in her two cents on every issue, biting her tongue is not a strong suit. Rameka sometimes has trouble sensing tension in a situation so when she starts to run her mouth she often doesn't notice when her words ruffle feathers and sometimes the backlash catches Rameka off guard. She doesn't enjoy fighting persay but she's very good at it, her unnatural size and strength aiding in her abilities.

Mokiki may be a bit slow on the uptake but what he lacks in brains he makes up for in strength, the massive male is a powerhouse and isn't afraid to throw his weight around if needed. He has a rather pleasant disposition, some might even go so far as to call him a bit meek. In his younger days he quite enjoyed the tournaments as it gave him the chance to let off all of the pent up anger he had collected throughout the year. But now he's not as spry as he used to be and has resigned to the Council of Champions, he's looking forward to this year's tournament as the inclusion of outsiders will make for an interesting dynamic.

A tigon possessing an odd accent and equally unusual demeanor. Typically laid-back and unperturbed, his calm exterior withholds a far more cynical demeanor. He'll greet strangers amicably, perhaps even proving willing to help them so long as he sees some benefit in the gesture, but rarely values others. Deflecting his real feelings with sarcastic jokes or teasing jabs, it's fairly difficult to actually get to know this fellow.

Bluntly honest and naturally sardonic, he doesn't have the tendency to endear himself to anyone for long, seemingly lacking manners. Though arrogant and overconfident, Constantine doesn't often resort to violence, a fan of bluffing or using intimidation to get his point across. Often a flash of claws or teeth is enough to make an aggressor reconsider their actions, and he's quite content to leave a tense situation unscathed. This is a habit he will need to unlearn if he wishes to become a champion, after all he has a lot against him already and his competition isn't about to back down.

Well-spoken and regal, it's clear from the moment you set eyes upon her this lioness comes from nobility. Filled with quiet determination and a stubborn nature, Hestia's mind is hard to change once she is focused on a goal, though this doesn't mean she's never open to suggestion. To those she trusts she will reveal a vulnerable side of herself, as she is still quite young and in need of guidance regardless of her steadfast demeanor and intelligence.

She is certainly capable of more than one might expect, primals seeming to carry the stigma of being wild and untamed. Strangers will find themselves faced with a distant, yet not unkind lioness who's mere presence seems to demand respect even if she does not voice it so. As others come to know her they will find her gentle and kind, but also fierce and vengeful.

Firauni is a contradiction, old enough to remember his father's volatile nature and hating him for it, yet in many ways quite like him. He is conceited and imperious, believing himself above everyone else, considering most lions as little more than fleas in his pelt. Though he is not as quick as his sire to lash out with claws or fangs his tongue is just as sharp when he is displeased with someone, his words harsh and biting. He was treated as a prince his entire life and rarely told no, growing into a pompous and entitled lion.

He has a poor view of primals, fueled by his father's violence, and was quick to wash his paws of them, trading Hestia off to a primal only pride as soon as he possibly could. The beastly lions where useful allies, powerful and intimidating, but good for little more than vanquishing foes in his stead. He is clearly uncomfortable when in the presence of more than one for any period of time. His redeeming qualities are few, but Firauni appears to have genuine care for those he grows close with.

Cantankerous but equally respectful. Lyra is silver-tongued, and you can expect her to turn up the snark around those who she doesn’t quite like. Nevertheless, she knows her place and never tries to deliberately disobey / disrespect those who are higher than her. She’s impulsive, often acting upon emotions rather than logic, but with a good King or Queen to guide her, she’s undoubtedly loyal and will protect those who she loves with her life.

Lyra is quite the piece of eye-candy and she knows it; she doesn’t flaunt her looks too much, though she makes the occasional comment about being one of Shujaa‘s favorite lionesses. She misses him in the slightest, but is almost excited to see what this tournament will bring for her. Her and her older brother Altair were born into the pride, though they were not at all related to the deceased King. This sparked a lot of anger, but soon after proving themselves worthy, they were deemed worthy to stay. She never really sees Altair around, assumes that he’s off trying to flaunt his looks. Albeit, you can often find the she-lioness sharing tongues with whomever wants to spend time with her.

Despite his intimidating, almost decrepit appearance, Altair is rather kind-hearted: always tries to smother confrontation with wise words before resorting to physical violence. Nevertheless, he isn’t afraid to fight when need be, and will put up a hell of a brawl in order to protect those whom he loves. He tends to have a biting sense of humor, like his sister, but he usually keeps the venomous comments to himself. He’s one to keep silent, make noises of conformation versus speaking— when he does say anything, it’s usually something way too warm, way too mushy (or the complete opposite). Lyra often picks fun at his social awkwardness; she knows he would make a great King one day, but often refuses to believe the idea that her beloved brother may be killed during the competition.

Although Altair is quite accepting, he has some flaws as well. Hybrids tend to strike a match with him, and he views them as wild and dangerous. Of course, there are exceptions, but he’d rather be safe than sorry. Along with this, the he-lion hates being touched. Even the slightest sign of affection can cause him to writhe in disgust. However, lions like Lyra can get away with touching him— he even yearns for her affection. If you win his heart, I’m sure you’ll be fine. Lyra would just recommend not being too touchy-feely at first.

Jore has never been mistaken as soft. She gives everyone a fair chance in the beginning, but as soon as she finds you lacking, it is incredibly hard to earn her favor or get back into her good graces. She believes in survival of the fittest, which is why her and Shujaa were such a good match; there were parts of her that were genuinely in love with her King, but she also knew that the world would've been crushed beneath his paw if he'd ruled for much longer. She mourns his passing silently as she sets her sight on a new future, unsure of where she belongs in it, but knowing that it's coming either way, and she'll be there to greet it.

A realist at heart, Jore's life has taught her that those that adapt are the ones who survive. Those that had known her as one of Shujaa's lionesses will note the differences that she shows now: she is quieter, but no longer fades into the background until she is needed. She forgives things that she wouldn't have before, weaknesses of character that no longer mean death don't bother her anymore. She is still cold hearted, private to a fault, but she is kinder now, albeit no less soft. She is particularly protective of the younger prize lionesses, her deepest wish that they don't end up hardened and pessimistic like her.

Not much is known of Jore's past. She rarely talks about the time before Shujaa, the peace-loving king she called father before her pride was forcibly absorbed into another, stronger one. The only thing she might say about is that her father was a fool, and cost the lives of her mother and all the other kind-hearted fools that followed him. That Shujaa wasn't the only king that ruled with an iron heart, that there is no escaping the cruelty of lions and so one should just accept it, adapt, live on, and cling to the memory of whatever makes you happy, because the real thing won't last long.

Mirika is a timid lioness, she avoids conflict, accepts her position with no fuss and tries not to draw any anttention to herself. When you meet her she's nice and courteous, even the rudest introductions don't get a frown or harsh word in return. But theres more to her than that. If you pay closer attention you'll realise that she's actually very mistrustfull of those around her and on rare occasions she will slip up and reveal what she really thinks. Usually this results in a fight or at the very least a big argument. Until now she's always managed to fix the situation

Mirika lived a very ordinary life. She got along with her siblings decently, never talked back to anyone on a higher position and performed all her duties well enough. Besides a few arguments and one or two fights she didn't have many worries. She had alway kept her distance from the king and luckily he passed away before she was old enough to give him any cubs but the future worried her. She heard some lionesses talking about change and others about nicer kings. She didn't dare hope for either, she was sure she would just be setting herself up for disappointment

To those unknown, this lion bears a sharp tongue and even sharper teeth — unwary of confrontation if only to save his own hide. An aggressive figure, he's one more likely to bite than bark and his battle-scarred form reflects this. Endless sarcasm and barbed insults aplenty, derision and mockery is Siwazuri's forte, with words so cleverly crafted the recipient hardly knows they've been insulted until it's too late. Although his bite is painful, his words tend to be agonizing. A true deviant, if any.

He bears an attitude necessary to survive the moons as a rogue lion, one which has proved him victorious in various skirmishes and disputes with other felines. He rarely allows others to dwell in his presence for long, opting to drive any potential enemy away with violence and cutting snark. Siwazuri's true fervor is the art of warfare — where every bloody gash is art, each pained scream is music, and every scar is perfection. There’s nothing better than the feel of flesh between teeth, after all.

He has traveled far to participate in the Great Tournament and plans to obliterate any who stand in his way.

Graceful, elegant, and decidedly feminine, at first glance Aspious' demeanor is one typical of the average lioness: seen yet not heard. For the most part, she plays this role quite well – made easier by her unique patterns and naturally slim stature to dutifully stand by any king as a trophy wife. It isn't hard to get in her good graces, though one may find her to be more of a listener than a talker; a lifetime of staying quiet resulting in awkward stumbling over words and a subtly desperate attempt to, somehow, keep the conversation going.

Born and raised in the Bora Plains, her mother taught her how to be the perfect queen, and how to live up to their high-ranking heritage. Aspious look these words to heart, taking lessons in immaculate poise, a light gait, and how to summon movements silent, graceful, and practically sensual in nature – seeming to flow even when motionless. Soon enough, with natural feline gracility and no small amount of patience, Aspious soon caught the attention of the great King Shujaa.

However, when he died, Aspious mourned. With whispers of the Great Tournament starting once again, she realized that the Bora Plains may not be her home for much longer. Though she dreads living in a different place, she has resigned herself to live as a dutiful prize – just like her mother would have wanted. After all, what other choice is there?

T'sai comes from a very traditional pride, nestled against the coast of the world. Her first memory is of following her father around the great buildings as he tells the story about their beliefs, their gods, and the fact that she was an abomination, not fit for the world if it weren't for her mother's sacrifice. Her pride believes that mutated lions are, by nature, unholy, and the only way to keep them from cursing the pride is to sacrifice them to the gods to be purified. Her mother, distraught, offered herself up instead--said that T'sai had come from her own sin of infidelity, of laying with another species, and so she threw herself into the sea so that her soul's suffering could atone, and the god's might be pleased. The King found this acceptable, and allowed T'sai to grow under her mother's mate's guidance.

T'sai Mor grew a thick shell to keep herself from breaking under the judgmental eyes of her pride. She grew into adulthood and did more work to keep her pride happy and fed than most her age, and slowly gained the admiration of a few of the adult males. Eventually, one caught her eye, and over the years she grew to admire him back. She stayed the path of fidelity and soon, her stomach began to grow. The birth of her son was a joyous occasion, considering that she had produced a true lion, though some of her pride had their doubts that any child of hers would be a true lion. As Taluhk began to grow, T'sai slowly began to realize that... they were right.

She took her son and ran. She couldn't bare the stifling tradition anymore, and the thought that they would demand to make a meaningless sacrifice out of her son just because he wasn't growing as they thought a true lion should was... unacceptable. She chose the direction the farthest inland she could see and raised Taluhk alone, until they came across a place called the Bora Plains. It was her son's chance to actually gain a family, gain reputation and respect, and she encouraged him to join. She had intended to leave, but under his conditions, she joined into the stands to support Taluhk.

As a result of being alone for so many years, and then her former lifetime of closing herself off from other lions, makes T'sai a bit standoffish. She's extremely cautious with how she interacts with others, and can even come off a bit fearful. That being said, she's got a thick skin, and it takes a lot to truly upset her or entice her to anger. Given the right amount of persistence and patience, one will find T'sai a bright, gentle lioness, who loves to laugh and make others laugh, even if she missteps on occasion. She is unused to the Bora Plain's customs, and her own customs sometimes make her overly polite, but you can rest assured knowing that T'sai is genuinely... well, genuine, when she shows interest in something.

Taluhk / SON - Taluhk is her baby boy. Her precious bean. Her sweetest schnookums. She is terrified for him in the competitions, but she taught him how to fight and fight viciously. Still, a mother always worries, especially T'sai. Despite her deep love and devotion for her son, she is slow to talk about him, and even slower to show affection to him in public, though he seems to understand this. She hopes. She's just--terrified for him. Period.

Having lived his whole life only around his mother-at least, for as long as he can remember-Taluhk is a little... hm. Bitter, you could say. He's got a chip on his shoulder, but tries his best to be polite and cordial, so long as someone doesn't slight him. He hasn't led a life of complete solitude; there have been times where they've met up with other rogue lions out in the plains, but most of them have met the pair with hostility or a fascination bordering on... really, really creepy. There were a few that traveled with them for a brief time, but that never ended happily, so Taluhk has learned to keep his heart wrapped up, much like his mother. In him, one will find a fast and loyal friend, perhaps loyal to a fault but Taluhk has been aching for a friend to stay by his side his entire life.

T'sai Mor / MOTHER - Taluhk is very close with his mother, but he chafes under her hovering. He never doubts that she loves him, but his upbringing was lacking for much affection, and as a result he's a little bit reticent to show affection. Still, she's the one person who has accepted him and loved him through everything, and he knows enough that his protection was the reason they were alone for so long. So he's going to do everything he can to make her proud and make her a pride that will accept her.
