Currently in the Custom Decor system that we have, to have a decor submitted you have to purchase the stone (10gb) and submit all of the files. The issue with this is that when you submit it, if the decor is approvable, it's approved to your account- but this is the only way to find out if it meets quality or not. As a decor artist, my art gets rejected all the time- which is okay! It's a trial and error process, and it's a learning process; but it's when you have to keep submitting the same piece of tricky art over and over again and you have to keep apologizing to the commissioner, it wears on you and the commissioner both- because sometimes it can be for tiny issues that the decor keeps being rejected, and not a matter of style. No artist wants to feel like their art isn't good enough in front of their customers, and no commissioner wants to feel like the person they hired to do their art is incompetent. My proposition is having an option to go into the Modbox and submit a custom decor ticket, which models after the custom decor ticket that you fill out and use with the Custom Decor Creation item. Once you submit it it's bumped directly to the administration, so that Xylax can take a look at it. If he deems that the art is approvable, he'll close the ticket with "This decor is deemed fit for approval" and you're in the clear to submit it; and if not, it's the same process with the regular decor rejection. Only this time, it's a direct contact ticket with the artist that isn't through PMs and doesn't have to go through the commissioner every time, and the artist can reply to the issue with their fixes so it doesn't have to keep being resubmitted. TLDR; Make it so that decor artists have a way to have their art checked by Xylax that isn't via PMs before they hand it over to their commissioner for submission so the commissioner doesn't have to see the trial and error process that happens sometimes. |

Please? Not only can this be a drain for both commissioners and artists, in my case, a few years ago, I had some stuff come up and I simply wasn't around to complete the whole QC thing. Which meant, despite all the hard work of that artist, their work never actually got used since I didn't come back for over a year. I certainly wasn't gonna bug 'em after all that time, when I didn't keep the files and I expect neither had they. Realistically, fixing up the lining of a few feathers on a duck should have been perfectly handled between Xylax and the artist, not sent to me to languish in limbo. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I had no idea this was the process. I support this 11/10, that just seems like a hassle. 0 players like this post! Like? |
