The only issue I see with this is that suggestions would disappear, too, and I think that'd be a shame. Potentially good suggestions would be lost :/ ![]() |

The only problem I can see is there's no official way of closing an account. You just reroll your king and then dont pick. ![]() |

From the FAQ board: "Accounts on Lioden cannot be deleted, but your account can be "closed". If you wish to no longer play, you can request your account to be closed via the Modbox or our support email, support@lioden.com. Additionally, you can de-activate your account. To de-activate your account, you can change the email on your account (either to a non-existing one, or to another email you own). Your account will then be de-activated, and another activation code will be sent to your email - you can then ignore it. Closing your account means that all of the data and personal information on your account is wiped - your username, password, email, etc. are permanently removed, along with any assets, friends, messages, and so on that were on your account. This process is irreversible, so please be certain in your decision if closing your account is something you would like to do. Note that abandoning, closing, or de-activating your account does not mean that you are free to create another one, if you already currently have two accounts. If you want a fresh start, feel free to abandon all of your lions, donate your currency and items, and use a Reroll Lion item on your main male." ![]() Edited on 20/02/19 @ 19:20:50 by big chungus (#159405) |

Oh okay but how would you determine deactivating for this stuff as well? Or would deactivating not matter ![]() |

I would treat it the same as closing purely because it has the same effect on users waiting for a reply from the owner, the users awaiting a reply have no idea that the owner will never reply unless they attempt to visit the account page. ![]() |

Personally I wouldn't support erasing deactivated account threads too. Your account is deactivated between the time you change email address and confirm that email again, as well as once your lion name expires after 1 year, or if a Moderator resets your lion name due to it breaking ToS. Deactivating due to inactivity is also an automatic thing, whereas closing an account is a manual process - it's done manually by an Admin. Closing an account is done manually by an Admin therefore that Admin would would be able to manually delete any threads that need to be (everything but suggestions kind of thing), or delegate those threads for a Moderator to delete when they do regular flagged threads. ![]() |

@KRAFT Ah, I see that I didn't understand the full process of deactivating an account. I thought that the account page becomes un-visitable unless the user confirms their email. Thanks for the info! ![]() |

With that information at hand, I'm afraid I cannot support this :'D In general it'd be a good idea to have the forums less cluttered, but then there's the issue of it needing to be manually done, and I think it's better if players can check for themselves if a thread is innactive or not that remembering there was a thread about something but they suddenly cannot find it anymore - that's a thing that irks me with the new flagging for deletion system, where you cannot see the thread anymore :') ![]() |

Thanks for the suggestions! Whether you support it or not, all I ask is that you tell me what's wrong with it and how to improve :) ![]() |

Perhaps just making it a note? Like account closed somewhere on forum posts/replies to let people know? Just to keep things from being deleted, but still an indicator of some sort. (In addition, maybe, with the other part of the suggestion. Just so other people will know.) ![]() Edited on 26/02/19 @ 15:57:24 by Adamymous ☢ (#68231) |

Interesting inquiry, but I have to disagree. Some threads and suggestions that are helpful and (as #84593 said:) potentially good suggestions and ideas could be lost. If there is a thread listing information about Lioden for newcomers made by a user-deleted account, then all of that information could be lost. ![]() |

That's where the second part of the suggestion comes in: where they don't get deleted, but there's still some kind of indicator. ![]() |
