Only reason I haven’t yet is cuz I like a lot of the residents, I also would feel bad for my co workers and my aunt who’s my supervisor. They haven’t hired anymore housekeepers, and there’s only 3 of us, we have to have 2 housekeepers everyday so one person is off and the other two work. And if one calls off the other is called in or the supervisor helps out when they can after they do what they have to do for their work. If I quit then they would end up being scheduled everyday until they got someone hired, I’ve worked 8 days in a row before, I’d hate to do that to them

Yeah that does suck, but you also have to look out for yourself. Hopefully there’s a chance more people will be hired somewhat soon and give you the opportunity to look for a new job.

I’d take a job at McDonald’s if they were hiring :’3 at least at McDonald’s I’d have the chance to get raises where as no matter how long I work there I won’t get raises. We remain at minimum wage. Tho nurses and aides that work the night shift make a dollar more, unfortunately even if I worked night shift I wouldn’t receive the dollar more an hour. Apparently housekeepers aren’t considered essential so we wouldn’t be paid that extra dollar, and if we get anymore COVID cases everyone EXCEPT housekeepers will receive $3 an hour more. Guess what if that happens and I don’t get that pay increase for the duration of the time we got COVID in the building I will NOT clean any room that’s in isolation due to COVID. I’d rather they fire on the spot

I feel like a housekeeper should be considered essential? You’re coming in contact with people who could be sick, so that doesn’t make sense to me. I feel like if I got a pay increase at target, while working overnight doing remodel and not seeing or dealing with any customers, you should get a pay increase. Like that’s so dumb to me

Who knows, my supervisor was pissed to be told that. Another coworker said they wouldn’t clean COVID rooms either, that the nurses and aides getting the extra $3 an hour can clean them, I’ve got a dad with heart problems and asthma and a younger sibling with asthma (and anxiety so bad they’d flip out if they got tested positive for COVID) not to mention that my mom, tho healthier than my dad, is still in her 60s and could get bad with it. Which in the past when I tested positive and was sent home, my mom was already there to surprise me so I quarantined in my room the whole time.... until my dad got impatient and made me help him pack the store up, that was fun helping him carry a table while having diarrhea but hey the store was closed so had no customers. So I technically was still quarantined since my family avoided me like the plague but still making me work xD

Lol dang, that sounds wild. Since I got pregnant around April I ended up not working because my morning sickness was so bad for months, work was just so hard and luckily it was seasonal so I got pregnant a little bit before my position was coming to an end and got to stay home most of the time unless going to the doctor or the store, and now being a stay at home mom I get to avoid people. As much as I sometimes want to work, I’ll wait to shes a bit older unless I need to get a job, and continue avoiding people lol.

I’ve worked my whole life really so I think that’s why part of me is like “girl get a jobbb” lol

Ugh I feel that. If someone would buy my apps I can buy different apps to apply to my king, probably not get the marking I wanted since it’s random, and then be kinda sad
