-LOCKED - MARCH EVENT! | |
Posted on 2019-02-28 20:19:33
The March event launches on March 1st at 00:00am LDT, and will end on March 31st at 11:59pm LDT. All unused event currency will be stored on your account until next year! March & World Wildlife DayMarch 3rd is World Wildlife Day, and with that we want to honour what we may lose if we don't fight for it as a civilisation and as a whole. Every day should be wildlife day.We are super excited that this data shown below seems to be showing a huge improvement! "In February 2019 the South African Department of Environmental Affairs, released the 2018 poaching numbers. Thankfully, the numbers show a decrease of 259 (1,028 rhino were poached in 2017)." Source Of course, there's good and bad statistic changes, but imagine how bad it would be without organisations who try to save those animals; not only rhinos, but elephants, lions, leopards, all of them. Many poachers will brutally hack the entire face off of a rhino with axes while the animal is still alive, to ensure that they get the entire horn as well as a "serum", as it is worth more. Thankfully, a new technology might help to save rhinos in advance by 3D-printing the horns from the same materials and injecting them onto the market, in the hopes that it would cause poaching to die down. There have been reports of chips and probes being inserted with a toxic dye that renders horns useless for poachers. Thanks to a suggestion, we included an encounter last year that references this, even though it's a rare occurrence. Living our everyday lives might not seem to be any help in a big fight against such a seemingly-endless problem. It may not occur to us when we drink our morning coffee, drive to work, or play a video game that we can actually do a little something to help people who are professionally prepared to fight against mass animal massacres. We can give them a hand and share what we have with them, as well as help by spreading the word around the world. Helping to save lions, rhinos, elephants, and all other endangered animals is in our hands as well. Anti-Poaching EventWhat's great is that the wandering poachers have randomised encounters AND some outcomes too - this adds a lot of variety to your choices! But, be careful - if your level is too low, you might not stand a chance against a large number of poachers! You will be ensnared instead of being able to fight. Poachers have left traps everywhere! Choices made when killing poachers or shooing them away will affect your karma! Prevent Points are gained for a public bar unlock, but you might notice that you also gain "RB". These are Rhino Beetles, a special event currency specific to March! Hold tight onto them until the shop is unlocked! Poachers aren't only lurking for lions in Lioden; they've already done some evil. You might stumble upon the results of their wrongdoings in Explore as well. It may be horribly sad, but it's horribly true in real life as well. This is what real life is, and it's just as upsetting. We want to raise awareness, and we want you to be prepared for these tragic times. CharityWe're supporting a charity that's close to our home: Tusk - LINK.At the end of March, as usual, we'll donate part of our March income and share the PayPal screen. We still very much support IAPF. If you'd like to learn about them and their dangerous, hands-on operations, visit them at IAPF FB! We'd like to point out their project, a female-only ranger unit called "Akashinga" - LINK - how awesome is that? We'll make sure to donate to them personally as well! As you unlock tiers, new rewards in the Black Market will become available, including a special base applicator and a matching marking applicator. We've picked a user-made suggestion (by LittleAntler #30151) based on the tragic news from 2018. We're very sad that we've had to learn about the death of the last male Northern White Rhino. To pay homage, we're introducing a new Rhino base, mane, and markings this year. There will also be quite a few new decors to find in the Black Market. These should be available in the Lion Wardrobe within 24 hours after the release of this news post, so that you can plan ahead! We have removed the "Poacher Influx Effect" threat from not reaching Tier 3. Remember that from March 1st until March 31st, a unique "Aging Injured Persian Fallow Deer" decor will be available in the Oasis! With each unlocked tier, new encounters will appear this year. Tier 1 - 1 new encounter Tier 2 - 1 new encounter Tier 3 - 3 new encounters Now, we have something special to announce. Tier 2 will unlock a special, rare encounter that will guarantee a new, unique breeding item. Mukombero's effects, coupled with special breeding circumstances, will let you breed a new Primal variation: Ferus. This mutation has the same art for males and females, but males have Khajiit-like manes! The younger stages, from cubs to adolescents, will share a Primal Felis look. We will post a special, dedicated news post as Tier 2 is near unlocking, in order to share detailed information regarding the Ferus lore, size chart, custom decor .PSDs, unique breeding mechanics, and gameplay effects! With that news, the Lion Wardrobe will unlock their stages as well. Unlocking Tier 3 will boost the rare encounter's rate! Good luck, and good night! MINIGAME For those unfamiliar with the game, this sidescrolling infinite platformer will speed up as you progress. You have to jump over obstacles and collect Rhino Beetles! We advise you to get used to the game's pace before you decide to send your score - it's worth it to practice first. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 01/03/19 @ 05:42:30 by Xylax (#4) |

Oh my goodness. The new primal variation was such a pleasant surprise to wake up too. Thank you guys. I wasn't expecting a new hybrid so soon after tigons were released. Also, it's really awesome that Lioden is donating and raising awareness of the poaching issues. :D 0 players like this post! Like? |

Wow that new primal is gorgeous! I quite like that rhino base too. Even though this event is a bit sad I do like how it raises awareness of poaching, such a horrible thing. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I can't even put into words on how disgusting I find poaching. How in the living hell can you take an animal- or any living thing for that matter-and chop its body parts only to leave its body to rot and live with yourself? Not that long ago I was surfing the internet and came across a photo of a leopard that had been poached. I mean....the waste is unbelievable. There are so many issues running awry in the world and poaching is one of them. Thank you Lioden and others who donate to help the prevention of killing these beautiful animals. Ok, I've always liked the primal mutations. But, None of them have made me reach out with grabby hands so fast as ferus. It's so magnificent! Gimme! Admin Response: We agree with you strongly! ;0; 0 players like this post! Like? |

Ferus is actually the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. March is my birthday month, so I’m always glad to see this event roll around, even if it’s a little depressing. 0 players like this post! Like? |
