So it's come to my attention that some people don't know about the different breeding modes that people create, and others enjoy. I thought I'd make this thread to explain all of them, and link to the original creators of such an idea! :) If I missed any modes, feel free to PM me with a link to who created the mode, any clans, any people, and basic information on it. If I missed or messed up any details on the modes, just tell me in the thread or a PM. :D This will be updated whenever I get new information. Thank you and enjoy the thread!

Clean Mode

Clean Mode was created mostly in the early stages of Lioden when studding was first introduced and such. A clean blooded lion is a lion who is not related to any of the big four. Most lions, with the exception of NCLs and rolled lions, have at least one of these lions in their heritage and many players enjoy the challenge of breeding lions without these four in their ancestry. The Big Five (or four) are Keyser Soze, who has been renamed Sentry Defiant, Moby Dick, an active big four member, HOT HOT TATER TOT, who does not seem to exist anymore. You can still find his name, though, in many lion’s heritage, SAVANNAH PRINCE, A stat-monster who logs on every now and then, and Boombah, who is sadly retired. Some also use clean-lined to mean no inbreeding, meaning that no lion is in a lions heritage twice. Some play using both definitions and some use only one. Either of these is acceptable. There are many clans that are based on or support Clean Mode, such as Clean Line Felines, Clean-Lined Muties, and Dual-Clean Breeders.

Dirty Mode

Dirty Mode was created by everyone. It’s the simplest mode ever and the default. People who don’t care about breeding or heritage play this mode. Basically, if you don’t play any other mode, you play this mode. In this mode, you breed anything, to anyone, and don’t care if they’re clean, dirty, heritageless, or like 100 instances of in-breeding. You just play. There is one clan based off of Dirty Breeding, and most supportive of it, which is Dirty Daddies.

Hard Mode

The way to play Hard Mode is that all lions in your pride MUST be bred using only rolled/heritageless lions (any studs MUST be heritageless), NCLs, Special Lionesses (aka the weekly raffle lioness), and event studs.
The objective when playing Hard Mode is to create your pride using PURE lineage, so that no lion has any ancestors that are not from your own pride, with the exception of “origin lions”, such as rolled king and special lionesses who they themselves have no heritage. Your main goal in such a breeding mode is to see what breeding goals and projects you can accomplish in this mode, without using purchased lions or studs to gain marks or stats. It’s entirely about building a pride from the ground up.
It’s not wholly clean, either. It’s all lions from your pride, your king, your queen, your lionesses, your cubs. Everything. There is one clan based off of Hard Mode, and is, I believe, the original birth-place of Hard Mode. This clan is :Hard Mode:.

Muties Only Mode

This mode is not widely known, and not many do it. But it’s an option. Unfortunately, I could not find an original creator of such a mode, so I will just say unknown. In this mode, you breed for only muties. Chase the normals, keep the muties. It’s an expensive mode, seeing as you’d have to buy breeding items such as CRB(cotton root bark), GMO cows, other muties to breed more muties from, buffalo scrotums, lion scrotums, pennyroyal, zebra heart, IBF (aka instant cub delivery/instant birth feather), black stallion, etc. If you want to work on breeding projects for muties, this is the mode for you (if you’ve got the money). This mode uses all breeding items. Some people only breed piebalds, or only primal, or only dwarves, etc. I, unfortunately, could not find any clans that use this mode, nor could I find people who do it anymore. It’s a fun thing, but expensive.

I talk to many people about this, getting information and getting permission to use clans and people as references. I couldn’t fit every clan I asked about, or all the information I got, because there was so much. I will, however, update it as I see fit. If I find more useful information, or want to include more clans and such, then I shall edit the thread and give that information, or put those clans in.

Yet, I still want to give credit where credit is due. So, without further ado, I present to you my credit page. I credit here everyone that has helped me through with this project or given me permission to use their names, clans, information, etc.
