Edit: Tl;Dr- let us pick the pronouns in the event dialogue (and maybe explore) Edit 2: 7/23/21 Revamped for 2021 because this is getting attention again i guess The updates for more LGBTQ+ options for the pride leader has been AMAZING, and I'm very thankful that the staff have been adding things to make the game more open. However one big problem remains: events! Basically, the storylines for events are a little older and harder to fix than just the art and titles. They're all male-centric because they were written before, so they say things relating only to male lions and use masculine pronouns and such. I believe that it would be a worthwhile task to make it an option under your Main Lion, perhaps in Studding Settings, that would allow you to pick the pronouns that your lion uses in the event dialogue. This would be set to "He/him" by default, and would simply be more customization options for players. This isn't only a feature to be used by LGBTQ+ players. This feature would provide an more in depth roleplay experience for players that simply want to have a leader that isn't male. Even if it isn't retroactively applied to all events, it could be considered going forward with new events. You're free to debate the implementation below but if you're only here to shit on LGBT people then just. Don't. edit 1, a point i didn't even consider (via Kaito): "Not to mention the hell that could unleash with people using pronouns on bios- my own bio lists "He/Him" as pronouns I accept. If you used this extension, that he/him could become another "they/them" even though i have that listed already, or even "she/her", a pronoun i am uncomfortable with and do not want you to use for me." tl;dr: it might fuck up someones personal pronouns on their bio and you'd end up calling them the wrong thing -- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: -What if I don't want this? The default would be set to he/him, so this wouldn't effect any player that doesn't manually change the settings. -Can't you just download an extension? No. First of all, there is no way the extension would be able to differentiate between event pronouns and user pronouns. This would be literal chaos when you literally cannot tell how to correctly refer to someone and would misgender EVERYONE on the site. Secondly, if your website requires third party extensions, it's maybe not that good. I'm really looking at you, modern Tumblr. -This is a waste of time. I mean, that's your opinion I guess, but it's not like it would affect how fast art is being made. The point of these forums is to suggest things. I could go on any suggestion in existence and say it's wasting time that could be spent on other projects. The limiting factor in Lioden content being rolled out is generally the amount of artists the site employs, not the amount of coders. -I don't want to use this. That's fine. You don't have to, and I can't tell you how to vote. But please keep in mind that this would be great for a VARIETY of play styles. -How would this work? I imagine that the pronoun selection could be a drop-down menu. It would work somewhat similarly to how names already work, where the website fills in the blanks based on the values set. In the names case, it would be going from "(king.name), you have done well today" to "Queen Sappho, you have done well today". In the pronouns case, it could be longer strings of text to deal with the grammar problem. "V'kai flicked his tail towards you. "This is (king.name), and (pronoun.string) come to join the battles!" changes to "V'kai flicked his tail towards you. "This is Queen Sappho, and she has come to join the battles!" to "V'kai flicked his tail towards you. "This is Queen Sappho, and they have come to join the battles!" If Lioden wanted to implement using multiple sets of pronouns, it could be a check-list and the text output could randomly assign one of the pronouns, but I think this would be a lot harder. -Wow, Sol, how are you so cool all the time? Finally, the most frequently asked question on this ENTIRE website. It's because I'm a cat, and cats are inherently cooler than people. Debating: I don't support because I think it isn't a very big change and doesn't matter, but I am open to hearing the other side Not debating: fix it yourself fucker 0 players like this post! Like? |

Maybe it can get put on the event page for the stories? There's branching stories in this event and its like 3 words to change per page so it's probably not even that hard. The default can be he so nobody has to do anything unless they want to but pls let me have a trans lesbian queen ;-; 0 players like this post! Like? |

Regardless of whether users can do it themselves, shouldn't they maybe not have to make that effort? I'm not saying the coders should have to either, but I wouldn't think to ask for modifiable pronouns for immersion sake, or otherwise, would be too big of an issue; other sites and games do it all the time. Besides, it's not direly important, so if it's going to be implemented, coders can take their time adding it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

No one is telling people to fix anything there self. I am telling people that there is a way that they can do it them selves and that is relevant to this suggestion and people should know about it before deciding weather to support or not. 0 players like this post! Like? |

While I do think it's nice to let people know that they have options to do it themselves if they absolutely want to do it right now, the least you could do is link to it or something? Because tbh I don't get how an extension is gonna be able to differentiate between any pronouns that just so happen to be on a page, and I would like to know the ins and outs of it. 0 players like this post! "Besides, having someone refer to your king as male even if hes lab frogged isnt that weird? idk. Im neutral, I guess, but leaning towards no support" The tone comes off as rude. Doesn't sound like your debating but more of.. Instigating 0 players like this post! Like? |

I can't link to any of the add ons since I don't use them I have only seen them talked about by other users that do use them. I will see if I can some links though Mochi is right this is a debate not an argument and there is no reason to report or block any one. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Blocking someone? Okay I get it, you dont like their opinion. But reporting them makes no sense? 0 players like this post! Like? |

It's difficult to read tone over text though, so it appears to me as more of an argument, even if that's not the intent. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I think it seemed fine. I know Mochi, and Mochi isn't rude. owo Anyways, support! I used to have a king who was lab-frogged, and I would have preferred if he was called she xdd 0 players like this post! Like? |

[That was a little harsh now that I think about it but you get the point I suppose, I apologize my dudes] Just move past it since it isn't related. Though I support! While I don't absolutely need it in my life, I think it would be a nice touch! 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 06/05/19 @ 17:29:02 by Rappadapa [Rough Ruby] (#159680) |

My mistake then. All I see is a aggressive tone. Aside from that, it's against the rules to use add-ons 0 players like this post! Like? |
