I think it's a great idea, obviously the examples are concepts/drafts so the art won't be *perfect*. If it looks like the other cloaks/capes (but with flamingo feathers) and not like a fur coat then I think it's an awesome idea.

Well, it’s up to the user if they want to see the marks or not, and there’s a button to temporarily hide decors on a lion’s page anyway if you want to see through the decor

There are also lots of decors already that cover the lion's markings. The feathers could look like the capes we have in Lioden right now, like the royal cloak, night cloak, decaying cloak, even the rabbit cloak. They lift up or aren't big enough where they cover all the markings.

There's already tons of decors (efreet and toxic embers, for example) that cover up almost all if not all of the lion's body. This is perfectly fine IMO (and hilarious, lmfao). Support!
