I'm back again! Remember me?My suggestion got accepted. But it was not in the way I wanted it. This is a loong post! Here's a direct quote from my lovely friend Winwin: "In 500 cubs you can get about 3 Kimanjano cubs, making the rate 0.4-0.6%, and for mandarin it's 1 in 500, making it 0.2%" Here's another comment from the lovely Sivert; Kima male x non pon Kima female 100 scrys - Set 1: Kimanjano - 0 - Special Dinar - 6 - Rare Fulvous - 6 - Rare Asali - Not Possible Anubis - Not Possible 100 scrys - Set 2: Kimanjano - 1 - Special Dinar - 8 - Rare Fulvous - 14 - Rare Asali - Not Possible Anubis - Not Possible 100 scrys - Set 3: Kimanjano - 0 - Special Dinar - 7 - Rare Fulvous - 11 - Rare Asali - Not Possible Anubis - Not Possible 100 scrys - Set 4: Kimanjano - 1 - Special Dinar - 12 - Rare Fulvous - 10 - Rare Asali - Not Possible Anubis - Not Possible 100 scrys - Set 5: Kimanjano - 1 - Special Dinar - 11 - Rare Fulvous - 5 - Rare Asali - Not Possible Anubis - Not Possible Total Pass Rate: 3/500 = 0.6% ____________________________ Mandarin male x Non tigon Mandarin 100 scrys - Set 1: Mandarin - 0 - Special Nacarat - 11 - Rare Non-Medium base specials/rares: Champagne - 3 - Rare Fulvous - 3 - Rare Dinar - 3 - Rare 100 scrys - Set 2: Mandarin - 0 - Special Nacarat - 9 - Rare Non-Medium base specials/rares: Champagne - 5 - Rare Fulvous - 5 - Rare Dinar - 5 - Rare 100 scrys - Set 3: Mandarin - 0 - Special Nacarat - 10 - Rare Non-Medium base specials/rares: Champagne - 4 - Rare Fulvous - 3 - Rare Dinar - 3 - Rare 100 scrys - Set 4: Mandarin - 1 - Special Nacarat - 15 - Rare Non-Medium base specials/rares: Champagne - 5 - Rare Fulvous - 3 - Rare Dinar - 2 - Rare 100 scrys - Set 5: Mandarin - 0 - Special Nacarat - 9 - Rare Non-Medium base specials/rares: Champagne - 1 - Rare Fulvous - 2 - Rare Dinar - 3 - Rare Total Mandarin pass rate: 1/500 = 0.2% These results were taken after the official May News post supposedly doubling the hybrid base pass rates. This is absolutely ridiculous. |

And this is why I don't attempt to breed or buy these guys. I may be a returning player who can't remember my way around the site to save my life, but I've heard plenty about how hard it is to pass those bases, and I've decided it isn't worth it. Now, seeing those percentages... yeesh. What's the point of having them if they're practically NEVER going to be passable? Makes me glad my broke self never attempted this. I fully support your idea. (Also, bases that can only be bred a certain month what.) 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Creek It wasn't actually .5% if you're referring to my comment. I just picked a random number. Right now though, judging from the scry data, it's actually much lower. At this pass rate the risk outweighs the reward in such a huge way that buying a hybrid base cub to king is not worth it. Very few people will want to pay a sizable chunk or really ANY GB for a base that has a very real chance to never pass in one or even two or three of their king's lifetimes. And so nobody is buying the bases, and nobody is able to sell them either. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 18/02/20 @ 15:41:57 by Severinus [Shreds Scoundrel] (#59230) |

Ahh okay ty... that's even worse :'D Yeah, the base doesn't have much appeal other than being a side effect of breeding a hybrid. If the passing rater were raised, i'm sure it would be talked about much more (and it would be a project of mine).. it's just sort of a worthless, unnecessarily-difficult-to-acquire base that gives barely anything in return. 0 players like this post! Yes, please. I can't believe there's a literally less than 1% chance that the base will pass, and that's considered okay. Can you imagine if a marking had a 0.6% chance of passing (while both parents have it, no less) without using a gnawrock? Or an eye color 0.2% without saltlicks? Why should bases be the exception to the idea that appearance aspects should pass naturally? I really hope this gets fixed soon. (Edit: changed some phrasing to be more clear, and Edit 2: clarified my slightly changed opinion) 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 07/04/20 @ 20:05:56 by Milou 🐅 (#158699) |

As also a gold breeder, and someone who used to breed for mediums *cough wtf medium pass rates cough*. Yeeeeaaaaaahhhh...... No. Pass. Nice as Mandarin is, Maziwa is easier to breed and has the same aesthetics under my kings marks. Also, so does f'ing doubloon. So. Why? Worth? Pffffftahahahahahaha. They're so hard to. Breed that they're at this weird place where they might be expensive, but also extremely difficult to sell. I don't really stud, so it's not for that. Just looks. In which case we're back to, might as well apply doubloon. 0 players like this post! Like? |

It feels like a cash sink and time-waster, which really just isn't fair to breeders dedicated enough to ACTUALLY keep breeding those 500 cubs and not get a single kiman. I get it. "woooo tygon hype wooo leopons wooooo" I guess. This was a slap in the face. Fully supporting this again. Hope you get it back. Gotta love "kinda-sorta added to game" results... 0 players like this post! Like? |

I'd like to ask any of you who may be lurking in this thread a favor. A while ago I started noticing some cubs being born with Dudley Skin at random. The only way this can happen when none of the parents has it usually is if one of the parents has Clouded skin and it "fails", or for the base the cub is born with has Dudley Skin "attached" to it. Given that my main male doesn't have it and I breed mostly Countershaded ladies, the only way this could happen usually is... if his Kimanjano base has miraculously passed, because the only other base of the Golden Group that can have it is Udara - which is Solid, so it's not a possibility here -, then Bast, which even though is a Countershaded base, it is special applicable base, so not an option either if the other parent doesn't have it. So, what does this favor consist of? If you breed a lion with Kimanjano base that doesn't have Dudley skin with another lion that doesn't have it either regardless of base, please keep an eye on their cubs to checkif any are born with it when they don't have any of the bases attached to it - namely Bast, Hematite, Kimanjano and Udara - then add your experiences to this bug report. I fear that ever since the hybrid bases passing rates were fixed something borked and this random skin means the base isn't passing when it should. The more information the thread has, the more information staff will have to look into it, hopefully. I apologize for the long read, here's a potato 0 players like this post! Like? |

Support. Please don't take this as offensive, but your words were very strong above. However, I must say that I agree. Breeding special bases are incredibly, almost impossible to breed. Though on some part, I agree that specials must have a degree of difficulty to breed, I do think a 0.5/1% chance is too low. Possibly raising it between 2.5-4% may be better. I've knocked up hundreds of NCL's/lionesses with matching skins etc, and I've never passed on the divine base. I understand your frustration and passion, as crunchy worms are ridiculously expensive; however it doesn't change my love for lioden's variety of bases and genetics, it's so interesting! Sorry for waffling x 0 players like this post! Like? |
