It's simple really. All you do is post your characters sheet, tell what your looking for, and see if someone has a character they want to ship with them. She was blinded when Dr. Crow was experimenting with an eye-color changing chemical. While it changed the color of the eyes, it also blinded her. They were only able to recover one eye.
