I really enjoy this game, and one of my favorite aspects about it that makes Lioden so unique is the king system and how your king becomes like your mascot as a player. And even though I caved and bought GB to retire my starter king and customize a new one (and I don't regret it one bit, I love my customized king to bits and plan to keep her appearance for many heirs to come), I would've done so anyway even if my next point were implemented:

I think 15 years minimum retirement age is far too harsh on newer players to wait with their ugly starter kings and should at least be brought down to like 8 years (or perhaps 5 years JUST for new players and their starter king). I believe the long wait makes the game less accessible to new players. (and if I may add, is the biggest complaint I see when trying to get my friends to play and not quit too)

Considering that your king is like your identity in this community, I think new players should be given just a little mercy and not be expected to wait the whole 5 months of daily gameplay just to experience one of the best features of Lioden that makes users feel more like they're a part of this game community filled with fancy looking lions. Of course it's on the user to either buy or breed a pretty looking heir of their choice, but otherwise they shouldn't have to wait so long to move on from their starter lion.

ps. I've done a little bit of skimming through different areas of the forums, especially this suggestion area, and even asked about it in chat, but I haven't seen much of what most people have to say about this topic, so I'm curious about if this has been talked about before, the retirement thing.

This suggestion has 366 supports and 96 NO supports.

Hate to be negative but I have to say no support. I made enough GB to retire early and even snag a few applicators within a month. I will say I`m pretty active, but I was able to buy 3 lion scrots during last years event. Just from casually seeing the sales chat and manticora beetle auction forums made the value obvious. I won an applicator from a raffle for crafting junk. I ultimately traded it for 2 lower-value apps I liked better, but probably could`ve sold it for GB without too much trouble. I typically make a good bit of every day by selling extra food. As long as you don`t spend too much of it, it definitely adds up. Even ugly cubs can be sold as karma/gorilla fodder. Then snag free ones at the tree. I`ve gotten quite a few cuties from there.

Plus even if a potential heir ages, he will be aged down to 8 when kinged. And if you love him so much you still want more time, you can keep his appearance when forced to retire. To my knowledge, you can do that as many times as your heart desires.

It is easy to level up impression and increase your odds of seeing NCL exclusive bases as a dreamboat. I often see those going anywhere from 500SB to 2GB in the trading center. You only have to PVP attack for impression 17 times. You can easily boost impression every 2-3 days and that's IF you aren`t claiming lionesses, defeating enemies in explore, or completing quests at all.

You get a random marking applicator every 30 days of rolling over in a row. That can be used to pretty up your king, or sold for a quick 1 gb. There are so many base, mane type & shape, eye changers and a slew of marking applicators in every event shop. Again, this is just as accessible to new players. "Worse" lions aren`t going to make it more difficult to acquire event currency. New or old, you just have to play. Don`t like any of them? Buy one anyways and sell it.

Last month`s event had the option to claim male lions with no heritage. That`s not possible under nearly any other circumstance. A quick read over the wiki confirmed that thought. According to official literature, they can be sold for up to 10GB a piece. I chose to option to see more of them and got quite a few. I`m holding on to one to train up and sell later. I figure few will be available and I have no heir to train.

I just think time to play the game and wait/figure it out isn`t a bad thing. And for the impatient (like me) , there are also so many ways for new players to generate income/spice up their rolled king.

As someone who has been through that struggle as a newbie, and annoyed over having to keep my first ugly king, I must say I don't support. As frustrating as it is, the early game is SUPPOSED to be challenging. I get it, I haven't had a dream king in the entirety of my play through, that was until the stratosphere base came out and I fell completely in love with the way it looked, and I knew I wanted one as a king. I have my dream king now, and I'll use his looks for some time to come, but I didn't get him right away. It took many failed breeding attempts, and being disappointed with a lack of strato cubs that fit my criteria in the trade center, until I found the one, and guess what? That was just a month or two ago, after 3-4 years of playing I finally found a dream king. The struggle never stops on this game, it just changes form as you go, and changing a core game mechanic is not the same as say, changing the mechanics of an event, as an event can be taken out with little to no effect of the base gameplay. I don't support, but there are so many friendly people willing to help out newcomers without expecting anything in return, you just gotta find the right people. Our kings are supposed to take time; the, sometimes, years it takes of breeding all the varying parts together to get your final result will make you want to rip out your hair, but it's worth it in the end.

YES! I really want to use a new primal (ferus I think, I forgot) I got in the trading centre so I’m just collecting GB so I can retire my starter king early.

No support, 10GB isn't too difficult to get for anyone

no, this isn't really fair to players who already retired their king with gb.

I definitely agree (especially since I'm a new player) and I think it should at least be something like 1000-8000 sb to retire your First king early instead of 10 gb because most new players don't usually have gbs.

New players are often boosted by established players, either adopt a newbie sort deals, giveaways, etc. I've seen many newbies end up with new kings in a months or so time anyways. I don't think the game's code should treat them any differently than anyone else. If you want to lower the retirement cost or age, lower it for everyone not just newbies (and I don't agree with lowering the cost or age anyways. 10-25 GB is fair and I don't want to constantly replace my king)
